WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sen. Joe Biden said Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Peter Pace is "flat wrong" for wanting to keep the current "don’t ask, don't tell" policy pertaining to gays and lesbians serving in the military.

"This is ridiculous and by the way we've got a war on our hands we're trying to end and in the meantime we're breaking the military," Biden said. "9,000 of these people have been kicked out. This is not a rational policy."

I think the votes on the
Drudge Report - from human beings, not TV analysts - show that Obama won, then hillary and that Richardson did very well

I did a double take on this one. All of the candidates agreed by show of hands that DADT is over if they become president. We are in a time of war and many patriots who are willing to put their lives in danger step forward. The reality is commanders deal with this issue rather fairly and many units function without concern for their Soldier's private affairs simply because no one enjoys that civilian luxury in theaters such as Iraq. Caving into archaic trench warfare hypotheticals has compromised our ability to provide for the common defense and Senator Biden is right, General Pace is flat wrong on this issue.
