WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sen. Joe Biden, D-Delaware, said during Sunday’s CNN Democratic Presidential Debate, “there doesn’t need to be a 700-mile fence,” between the United States and Mexico even though he voted for a bill that provides for such a fence. He pointed out that it would be much more practical to weed out the criminals who are here illegally rather than deport every illegal immigrant. “Folks, being commander in chief,” said Biden, ”requires you to occasionally be practical” drawing laughter from the audience. Biden went on to explain that he voted for the fence as a way to prevent drug smuggling. — CNN Political Researcher Xuan Thai Filed under: Joe Biden |
