MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) — Talking immigration reform, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said the "organizing purpose should be that our immigration laws allow us to identify everyone who is in this country that comes here from a foreign country."

"They should have a tamper-proof ID card," he said at Tuesday's GOP presidential debate. "It should be in a database that allows you figure out who they are, why they're here, make sure they're not illegal immigrants here for a bad purpose."

"We can do that," added Guiliani. "Credit card companies take care of data that is greater than that."

New York is home to one of the largest recent immigrant populations in the U.S., and of course the Statue of Liberty off Manhattan has long been a welcoming symbol for newly-arrived foreign aliens.

Seriously!!?? There is no thought process involved in this man's ideas.

This is the type of candidate that is currently being supported by the majority of Americans, and that gets the majority of media coverage… that is a serious problem.

The Media needs to start focusing on educated candidates like RON PAUL. The policys that the majority of other candidates support are intrinsically Un-American.

Vote for liberty and vote for the only reasonable, logical, truthful and WELL EDUCATED candidate that understands America has lost its way and knows how to bring it back to the great nation it was founded as. VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

Rudy Giuliani has done nothing but PROMOTE more government, more control, more oligarchy. Why would any moral American ever vote for this man?

He is pernicious, deceitful and full of lies.

I would rather shovel dog poop all day than vote for Rudy Giuliani.

Ron Paul is the best Republican canidate hands down. Rudy doesn't know the first thing about running a country. To tell you the truth no one really even knew too much about him until 9-11. Maybe everyone should pay attention to Ron a little more. He knows the truth. And I agree with the rest of you…credit card companies are soooo safe…sarcasm.

Why did Ron Paul only get to make 1 comment in the "audience portion" of the debate while some others got to make about 10 comments?
But at least his one comment was more poingnant and striking than all the other responses anyway…

You tell 'em Rudy! Nobody pulls one over on the credit card companies! Oh, wait a minute, what's this on my statement…?

Rudy Giuliani is a joke. He absolutely no training at being in Washington.

CNN should stop throwing him soft questions and covering his every breath and start focusing on real candidates like Ron Paul!
