WASHINGTON (CNN) - CNN's Pipeline is roaring to life as political analysts Michael Murphy and Arianna Huffington pick apart the GOP candidates' responses at Tuesday's presidential debate.

Murphy, a veteran Republican strategist, says it is important to look out for the lesser-known candidates.

"There's going to be a lot of jostling out there tonight, not only from the big names," he said.

One notable candidate is Rep. Duncan Hunter of California.

"Hunter is an old Congressional pro and speaks the lingo well on the military," Murphy said.

It's interesting to me that Fred Thompson is receiving more media coverage than "second-tier" candidates when Mr. Thompson is not currently a candidate. Any journalist or media outlet that uses the terms "first-tier candidate" and/or "second-tier candidate" should consider themselves owned by these "first-tier candidates" and a failure in their field assuming they ever hoped to be good reporters rather than simply well dressed, pimped puppets living under the delusion that they are rubbing elbows with the elite.

I am not a Christian. I am not a Republican. I would vote for Ron Paul, even before any of the Democratic candidates, because he looks to The Constitution FIRST for his position on any given issue. I am going to change my party affiliation so that I can vote in the primary and vote for Ron Paul for the nomination.

Who's afraid of Ron Paul?

It's sad to see that most of the front runners in this debate consistently overlooked the "debate" rules. Its shows, quite frankly, that these guys really good give a hoot for "rules" and will govern in a similar fashion. They sadly took time from people like Ron Paul, who has shown that he's a man to be reckoned with; good reason NOT to give simply a token opportunity to voice that which America wants to hear.

The only leader I heard on that stage tonight was Ron Paul. Most of the other candidates came across as hypocrites (i.e. pro life and pro war). He was also the only one that sounded like a true conservative. If given an opportunity, the country will embrace his strength, integrity, and his willingness to be a world leader. For the most part, the top tier candidates came across as world bullies, not leaders.

Yep, Don't ask em, ask Rudy everything.

It is hard to make a push when they don't give you many questions to answer. I guess that is the only thing they could do to stop Ron Paul. They must be afraid Americans may like what he has to say.

I second Dave's remark, that Ron Paul is the only deserving second-tier candidate (the best candidate of the 10 as far as I am concerned), and I am sick and tired of the fact that the major news outlets are ignoring the will of the people on this issue. We the people want to hear more about what Ron Paul has to say.

There's only 1 second tier candidate who deserves our support. More Liberal than any Democrat, and more Conservative than the Republicans. Doctor Ron Paul. Bill Maher's Hero! :)
