The whole episode of the "debate" on the Immigration Bill is a clear example of populist posings taking precedence over the needs of a country's economy and securing a future for its citizens.

Before you discount my snippet as the ramblings of a xenophobic American, pls know that I am not a US Citizen. I am on a work Visa here and have been here for just over 3 yrs in the past 5.

What riles me about the Bill is the aspect of granting over 12 Million Illegal Immigrants a path to citizenship. mr President will then institute a program for Guest Workers where they can work (sans their families, if I may add) and go back.

if ever there was a dim-witted plan being suggested -- anywhere in the world, its this. I will liken this to going to every drug dealer and giving them amnesty, as long as they declare their hoard and promise not to hoard anymore!! They have been tagged as "illegal" for a reason. Lets not legitimize criminal acts please.

The plan also insults the intelligence and processes of law abiding folks like me and my employer. We get the short end of the stick for having gone through a US Consulate for Visa rather than swimming across a river.

I urge every American to rally against this Bill. The burden this will place on the American system will be enormous.
