Bill! You're hillarious. Gotta love this guys sense of humour. He is hispanic and can joke around about Mexico giving maps on how to cross the border.

This guy is great...and yes he is maybe the ONLY candidate to speak out candidly on this. It starts with fixing the root of the problem which is the fact Latin America basically is a "third world" region.

We need to address the basics on illegal immigration 101, otherwise the problem will NEVER go way:

Poverty, birth control, education, political/social reforms

Frank conversation? I agree. It should be something like this: We're building a long, tall wall. Anyone caught attempting to damage our wall, dig under our wall, or climb over our wall will be shot. If you don't like the idea of your people getting shot tell them to stay away from our wall. Comprende?

To whomever posted second here. And to anyone else. Never "verify" via wikipedia. That's like saying "all this is what my cousin told me." Use a real source, not an online source that can be edited by anyone, to prove your points.

Do you rember when Richardson was giving away the store in New Mexico, with driver licenses for the illegal's and instate tuition rates for the illegal's.

Then the illegal's turned New Mexico into a third world hell hole. Can this guy be for real, wanting to be president, please get him a life.

This is the only candidate that has made any sense in talking about the immigration problem our nation faces. He is correct that we need to have frank discussions with the Mexican government. We need to strengthen the border and we need to sanction/punish those companies and individuals who hire illegal immigrants instead of just persecuting the immigrants themselves. I will be watching Governor Richardson a little more closely in the race for the Democratic nomination.

We in New Mexico are so very fortunate to have Bill Richardson as our Governor. He has demonstrated his unique ability to bring all people in our State together regardless of political affilation. His re-election solidified whats good for our State and I have no doubt that if nominated for President he will continue to utilize his skills to bring honor and respect to our Nation. He is the most qualified canidate for the highest office in our land. As the world looks to our great country for leadership, Gov. Richardson can, and if given the opportunity, will restore American
values that made our Nation the beacon of hope for all.

Richardson is saying too little too late and nothing will stop the flow but a fence, you know, like the one you probably have around your house or your yard. If you want a "virtual" anything then live with a virtual front door for six months and let me know.

<B> Bill Richardson's Mother, Maria Luisa Lopez-Collada Marquez, was a Mexican.

His father was a Naturalized American (being the son of an American Father & a Mexican Mother) who grew up in Nicaragua.

His parents met in Mexico City. Bill Richardson was raised in Mexico and was sent to live in the United States at the age of 13. All of this can be verified at Wikipedia.

The opening line of this CNN story says Richardson joked about Mexico giving maps to its citizens on the easiest way to cross the border.

<i>Governor Richardson this is nothing to joke about. The American Citizenry is tired of the blatant flaunting of our laws by all illegal aliens. The American citizens will take action to stop this because they know that the government has sold them out and will do nothing.

This is the common sense question that needs to be asked but in todays society, its more politically correct to attempt a "reform"and spend millions of dollars on plans that don't work, and watch thousands protest in the streets.
