Romney was greeted by opponents handing out flip flops outside Fenway Park Sunday night.

(CNN) — It wasn’t just hot dogs and hamburgers Sunday at presidential hopeful Mitt Romney’s Fenway Park fundraiser.

Outside the historic ballpark, opponents lined the street handing out flip-flops in an effort to highlight what they consider the former Massachusetts governor's shifting position on key issues.

While contributors headed inside Fenway, home of the Red Sox, opponents walked the street dressed in huge pink cardboard flip flop’s reading — "Flip Flopper from Mass" and other such slogans directed at Romney.

"Flip-flops, Mitt Romney style. They flip real quick," chanted his opponents as they handed out leaflets as well as pairs of the summer sandals to emphasize their point.

Romney sticks to the sports theme Monday as the candidates make the mad dash for fundraising dollars before the second quarter closes Saturday night. Hundreds of Romney supporters will attend the National Call Day at the TD Banknorth Garden, home of two other fabled Boston sports franchise: the Bruins and Celtics.

This is my response to the rebuttal made to my comment. The whole problem with immigration today is that they do not assimilate, and many of them don't wish to. Many politicians are all about accomodating people for votes; and thats what I'm trying to point out about Romney's website, and I doubt he has any aspirations to solve this problem-considering he's backed by big business. I have no issue with people that speak spanish, but if they are going to be involved in our political process then they should have understanding of the English language; this is the language our constitution was written in and that are laws are written in. I will include this quote by Theodore Roosevelt, one of our greatest presidents.

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American…

There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile…We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

–Theodore Roosevelt, 1919

I agree with Shawnie that this article is poor at best. I am largely indifferent to Romney's presidential aspirations because I currently have decided to back a different candidate. Yet, I find Jason's comment deeply troubling. What possible link exists between ILLEGAL immigration and a campaign website available in Spanish? There is a very large population of Spanish speaking Americans that are here legally. In fact, many probably have American roots older than yours. Reaching out to everyone is an essential part of a political campaign. Romney is on record as pro-immigration and anti-illegal immigration. I think you need to reexamine your thinking regarding this divide.

Ouch! He's getting hammerred about the flip flop political views and for being Mormon.

Not sure if he can bounce back from this…even he home state is attacking him with negative signs.

You better believe he's a flip flopper. Romney is saying he wants to prevent this madness of illegal immigration. Yet at the same time his website is available in espanol? The republicans need to wake up as far as Mitt Romney is concerned.

Mitt Romney is A BIG flip flopper. He changes his position like wind. No body paid to do the protest! Massachusetts knows better Mitt then any other state.

Did McCain pay for the heckler's bus tickets?

This article fails to address the actual accusations made and investigate whether they are viable accusations or selective editing from aggressive opponents. So far, it is just poorly applied, worn-out cliches that don't hold water once you look at the events/policies and timelines in context. How many people showed up for the event? How much money will he raise? No pictures?
