Rep. Chris Van Hollen heads up the DCCC.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - House Democrats will target seven Republicans in a five-day radio ad buy next week accusing the GOP lawmakers of having a poor record on veterans' issues, a Democratic campaign official tells CNN.

The buy coincides with the Fourth of July Congressional recess when lawmakers return to their districts and states to meet with constituents, attend forums and march in Independence Day parades. Rep. Chris Van Hollen, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), said the 60 second radio ads will begin running on Monday and noted this buy is one element of a larger campaign of web videos, 50,000 telephone calls and 2 million email contacts that is being employed in an effort to influence voters' opinions of 14 incumbent Republicans during this time period.

The DCCC would not say how much the buy will cost only noting that it would last for five days.

The DCCC will be airing radio ads and directing emails into the Congressional districts of: Rep. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Rep. Sam Graves of Missouri, Rep. Robin Hayes of North Carolina, Rep. Joe Knollenberg of Michigan, Rep. Jon Porter of Nevada, Rep. Jim Walsh of New York and Rep. Don Young of Alaska.

In addition, the DCCC said they will be directing telephone calls, emails and creating web videos targeting: Rep. Thelma Drake of Virginia, Rep. Mark Kirk of Illinois, Rep. Randy Kuhl of New York, Rep. Marilyn Musgrave of Colorado and Rep. Heather Wilson of New Mexico. And it will be creating a web ad and directing emails into the districts of Rep. Phil English of Pennsylvania and Rep. Mike Ferguson of New Jersey.

God Help us All! America has come down to this? Priority check is desparately needed here.

It's hard for me to accept just how thick-headed supporters of the Iraq war are. It has nothing to do with fighting terrorism, but has everything to do with increasing it. Do you people honestly believe we went their to "fight for our freedoms" or some BS like that? Really? Please enlighten yourself with education and get away from the NASCAR races for a few hours.

Way to strike a blow for civility, Rep. Hollen.

Everyone that spit one at a terrorist, dictator or tryrannt.

And I'm quite sure Hitler would have loved today's progressives too..

DC; How many people would get killed with spit-balls???

Yeah, let's show the terrorists(Al Qaida/Hamas/Taliban, etc.) how wimpy America is and surrender by bringing our troops home! If we crawl in a hole and leave them alone, they won't bother us, right?

Demorats voted against every major weapons system on the battlefield today, including the body armor and funding for the VA. As Zell so elegantly put it, we would be fighting with spit balls if the liberals had their way..

RightyTighty: Talking about vetern affairs after trying to shut off support for the troops?? Sorry demorats, that just doesn’t fly..

Shut off support? You mean trying to get some of them to come home? Yeah, I can see how that isn't supporting them.

Much better to send them into a war with inadequate equipment. Make the parents buy them body armor off eBay.

And when they do come home? If they're wounded then deny the seriousness of their injuries so they don't get adequate care, if they're dead then forbid any photographs of the coffins.

Yeah, the Republicans are all in favor of the troops and have provided loads of support.

IMHO, the Dems should be banging this drum loudly.

How about Kay Bailey Hutchinson? My son was injured in the desert and was given shotty treatment by the military. He had orders to see a specialist in Germany, but never went there. Even after he came back to the states he received sorry treatment from the military. I wrote to Hutchinson's office twice. Both times I got sorry treatment from her office. When I see her saying something about the veterans I want to puke. I'm a registered Republican, but I'll never vote for her again.
