Senator Barack Obama, D-Illinois

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — The Davenport campaign headquarters for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was burglarized Friday night.

Tommy Vietor, a spokesman for the Obama campaign, said two laptop computers and some campaign literature were taken. A campaign worker discovered the burglary Saturday morning, and a report was filed with Davenport police.

"It doesn't appear that it was anything sensitive or irreplaceable," Vietor said.

HEADS UP!
Everyone knows HILLARY IS THE CANDIDATE OF CHOICE!
The current thrust of OBAMA becoming the front runner in the Campaign could be the fruits of labor from a well conceived Republican plan to regain the White House.
Take to heart, the objectivity of a Newt Ginricht type mentality, could be to ultimately offer up Obama as the "Sacraficial Lamb" because, it is hardly conceivable that America is ready for a BLACK PRESIDENT. The conspiracy lies among all those waning Republicans disappearing from the party and becoming members of the Independent Party so as to be able to vote for the canidate of their preference, consequently, Obama is thrust into the limelight, Hillary (the most electable personality) is defeated at the hands of her own party affiliation, leaving Obama (of little experience) to suffer the brunt of the wiles of American Humanity thereby, creating a clear road for the Republican Dark Horse, "Mitt Romney." Oh! Huccaby is there just to keep the traditional face on the Republican party. All of the other Heeing-and-Hawing is just Fodder for the PRESS!

A LIFELONG DEMOCRAT!

Has anyone thought to check to see if the laptops show up with the FBI files in Mrs Clintons office?

Billy Montgomery STILL clings to the Obama "background" re: alleged and debunked Muslim background. Read, research, and grow up Billy.

How many Democratic Party affiliated offices have been "burglarized" in the last couple of years?

Way to go CNN, continuing to allow this pointless drivel to be posted over and over again in topics that have nothing to do with it. Seems you can write anything as long as its anti-bush..God whats the point of even reviewing comments?

Betty, Southlake, TX   July 9th, 2007 2:46 am ET

All you people saying Clinton is involved…. get real !! You sound like some paranoid conspiracy theorists. Chances are this was nothing more than a local burglar looking for something to pawn for drug money. I seriously doubt that Obama's Davenport, Iowa, office is a real hotbed repository of campaign secrets & strategies.

Bill, Orlando Florida   July 9th, 2007 2:34 am ET

Wow! Watergate all over again except this time it is not the Republicans or the President but the Clintons!

Billy Montgomery, Waynesville Missouri   July 9th, 2007 12:17 am ET

Somebody better watch it or with his background Obama just might start issueing Fatwa's.

I don't think it has to do with an opponent of his, its a matter of anything, I would say, and yes I do dare say this, a racial thing. There isn't anyone who could have broken into his headquarters, not knowing who he is and that he is running for President. I hope they catch whoever did this to him.
Its not the point of nothing sensitive or irreplacable being taken that can't be replaced, its the principal they did it to start with.
If the one/or ones who did this, don't want him to be the President, then they need to VOTE, NOT break into his office, that is a violation of his privacy and very much against the law.
Personally, I am glad Sen. Obama didn't loose anything he can't replace.

The disgruntled thieves must have forgot to leave some 'southern hospitality' at the door. Maybe they drank all the moonshine before hand, thus had no starter to ignite their welcoming cross on the front lawn. *sarcasm* Some choice though. Elite lobby pandering candidate #1, or elite lobby pandering candidate #2. Mmm. I'll take #3 thank you. Oh. Only two parties? Make that… one party with two faces. Humph.

Obviously Mzzzz Hillary's opposition "research" thugs are at it again.

Break-ins, Stolen Laptops, oh boy, G. Gordon and the plumbers are up to their old tricks. Look out Obama, your secret on how to stay skinny is about to be exposed.

districtofcontention   July 8th, 2007 9:00 pm ET

If Obama plans on winning the nomination (and I hope he does), I'd ask not where Bill and Hillary were on Friday night, but rather, why Obama's staffers weren't working at the time! They should be crankin' 24/7 if this lesser experienced candidate is going to have a shot.

F. Gillespie   July 8th, 2007 8:18 pm ET

Obama was recently described as a 10,000 watt bulb. He will shine on, regardless of this stupid stunt.

criminyjicket   July 8th, 2007 8:01 pm ET

thats what makes centrists different. I immediately pictured 2 drunken high schoolers trying to score a little extra cash. conspiracy theories always seem to come from the u-libs and the neo-cons

Tom, Dedham Mass   July 8th, 2007 12:10 pm ET

Obama's gaining on her, I told you, here comes the Clinton political machine springing to action.

Steve, Casper, WY   July 8th, 2007 11:54 am ET

So somebody again are doing political break-ins and try to deflect on the Democrats themselves. Sure looks like the republicans didn't learn their lesson last time.

Where was Hilary Friday?

Rose, Houston, Texas   July 8th, 2007 12:45 am ET

OK Obama, Did you do this yourself in order to incriminate your biggest rival? Fess up, sir!

Kyu Reisch, Radcliff, Kentucky   July 8th, 2007 12:20 am ET

John, St Louis, if somebody ask you where were you on Friday night? You will say that person is a schizophreniac personality. Obama team played dirty games because Obama couldn't catch up Hillary's campaign. Why don't you ask Obama campaign is it their own game or not? they need people's attention a lot? Please ask them to investgate their staffs, Obama's a few staffs did very dishonest performances against Hillary. Hillary is on the way different level than other candidates.

David, Friday Harbor, Washington   July 7th, 2007 10:58 pm ET

My first thought was, "Watergate."

John, St. Louis MO   July 7th, 2007 10:34 pm ET

Excuse me, Senator & President Clinton, where were you on the night of Friday, July 6???

Scott, Regina, Canada   July 7th, 2007 10:23 pm ET
