Watch CNN's Jeanne Moos report on the latest online political video making waves.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — CNN's Jeanne Moos reports on a new online music video spoofing a spoof — it's 'Obama Girl' vs. 'Hott 4 Hill'.

Filed under: Barack Obama • Hillary Clinton

Derek, Seattle Washington   July 13th, 2007 2:03 am ET

I think you people who are so outraged by this video, and think people need to "focus on the real campaign issues" or whatever, need to get a sense of humour. This is simple fun and in no way detrimental to the democratic system. You're overreacting.

Besides…maybe this video will generate a greater interest in politics, even if on a superficial level. Better to drum up more voters for silly reasons than to leave the voter turnout and public interest as low as it is, I say.

totaltransformation   July 12th, 2007 11:20 am ET

Has political discourse in this nation descended this far? Why do people watch this junk?

On behalf of millions of people: when do we get to see a scantily clad male in a campaign video (spoof or not)? Straight men don't even make up half of the population ;-)

I believe the Hillary and Obama videos are obviously works of the devil. The idea of engaging young people in the process by using their own medium is unfair to the Old White Guys running against them.

Tricia M Charlottetown PEI   July 11th, 2007 10:29 pm ET

I don't have a problem with the Videos. People like having fun, and with so much stress in todays' world why not? Light comedy doesn't hurt…

What I do find interesting? but at the same time perplexing, are the comments here flogging Hillary for the Video!

Hillary didn't make the Video … Flogg the Messanger.

tortuca   July 11th, 2007 8:44 pm ET

I hope this isn't the future of political opinion.. but I also secretly hope it is. So entertaining!

Found another good article on it:

I laughed so hard that there were tears running down my face, this just totally tickled me. I have needed a good laugh and boy oh boy, did I get one when watching this on CNN!! I can't wait to show it to my daughter!!!

officedoodles   July 11th, 2007 6:24 pm ET

That's great! More power to the Obama Girl!

Rick, Kansas City MO   July 11th, 2007 6:21 pm ET

Good job deleting my post CNN. Ron Paul has always been against the war Hillary has not.

Paul, Kissimmee, Fla.   July 11th, 2007 6:11 pm ET

This is just another reason for me not to vote for Obama or Clinton. I mean Clinton, she can't even stand up to her husband. How would she stand up to terrorist? They'll probably vote her in themselves.

Jane, Epiphany, MN   July 11th, 2007 6:07 pm ET

also, i would like to meet John Stewart…just throwin' that out there.

Scott W., Austin, TX   July 11th, 2007 6:06 pm ET

CNN should be ashamed for promoting this as "political" news. This crap only distracts the sleeping masses from the real issues. We must begin taking politics and government seriously people. Our freedom depends on it.

Jane, Epiphany, MN   July 11th, 2007 6:05 pm ET

First of all, Woody is a sheeple. Secondly, citing the four horseman only solidifies J's credibility by proving an open mind, acceptance, and education among a variety of subjects. Now…

While no one should be surprised that, yes, presidential elections have sunk to this level, we should also look at this funny video in what is at least a positive direction concerning the public opinion, understanding, and acceptance of homosexuality. Besides, what else can we expect from a society who's mantra for the past century has been buy, buy, buy? (note yesterday's story on shopping addictions). To compete in this free and open market, ads need to be flashy, fast, exciting. And, I don't know about anyone else, but I happen to find sex rather arousing. It's also distracting, and when you combine the two, you get detachment (think: gimme, gimme, i want).

So as a result of the current generation's impeccable talents in product development and marketing, we as a society have produced uninvolved, uninterested youth who have come to see two things: consumers and raw material-sometimes precious and non-renewable-or product. Sometimes people fall into both categories, certainly the environment is subject, and it is all relevant to profit, God Money. Everywhere, people speak of and like to believe-or have faith-in things like an end to racism, human deprivation and abuse, and a solution to saving our only home; which we've all but ruined. Yet we do nothing but reinforce this so-far inevitable death spiral of th human race by consuming, consuming, consuming! Betsy Douglas, GA is right: crap is being forced upon us, and you can't just not watch it; nor should you have to. FIX THIS by creating a system that allows each household to select individual channels @ a pre-determined rate. Stop wasting money on crazy pretend wars (anybody know where I can get some pot?) and start investing it into our future. Better schools, higher teacher salary-we need to start paying people what they are worth-lower sports salaries, private sector space research and technology; as well as college incentives…or how about a free education?? We need to start teaching history with just a tiny bit more truth to it, because American Pride isn't all that much to be proud of. And on top of that all, we absolutely need to be aggressively pursuing alternative energies; ones that are absolutely alternative, not just another way of continuing to suck the earth dry of its oil.

All of these things should be done, but it would only be a start. But how do we do all that? Well, in my opinion, it is impossible unless it becomes more profitable to nourish our planet that it is now to destroy it. Spread wealth and wealth will abound…we were put here to take care of the only place that will ever really be Home.

Susan, Fort Pierce, Florida   July 11th, 2007 5:06 pm ET

Sex Sells!!
Go Hillary!!

Rick, Kansas City MO   July 11th, 2007 5:04 pm ET

Marc, youve been agaisnt this war since the start? Awesome to hear. Ron Paul was against it from the start and voted against it from the start. Hillary was not against it from the start and voted for it. Ron Paul has promised to bring the troops home right now if elected and has a 20 year record of voting what he says.

brenda, austin, tx   July 11th, 2007 5:04 pm ET

so proud to be poster child of democrazy…why do those iraqis resist this?!?!?!

Tom Tortomasi, Virginia Beach Virginia   July 11th, 2007 5:02 pm ET

hmmm this is getting interesting. It's now all about who has the most money to spend on marketing and who has the best spin doctors. I would hope Americans would be able to see the real issues through all of this but after suffering through 2 terms of dubya it’s apparent they can’t.

Gregg, Santa Monica, CA   July 11th, 2007 4:47 pm ET

I totally agree with "Woody". Lighten up people. This thing is hilarious, and citing the 4 horsemen doesn't exactly enhance your credibility "J".

This video rocks– really made me laugh, and turned around a bad day.

Danielle Clarke Phila pa vietnam vet   July 11th, 2007 4:40 pm ET

Thats the truth. Bush clinton bush clinton is all about the war machine while they take apart the military and install mercenaries who get paid through no bid contracts.

As for the video i guess if it gets those who watch stupid TV to get involved then so be it. However, its such a shame how our citizens watch all that dumb TV and miss out on cspan where today the house got 49 republicans to join the democrats to help educate our youth. They sure need it. :(

and hey what is wrong with Barack accepting a transgender firefighter? I think it shows his openess to all kinds of people.

Woody, DeBary FL   July 11th, 2007 4:39 pm ET

You all have to be kidding! Such serious rebuffs over a couple of hot chicks doing what gets most hot chicks noticed - BEING HOT!!!

It is not a political statement but a moral statement! Girls flaunting what they GOT!!! If you want a political spin spot, watch THE VIEW or Wolf Blitzer…if you want fun, watch videos like this!!

Rich, Seattle WA   July 11th, 2007 4:31 pm ET

Ha! I liked the ObamaGirl one way more.

I think it's cool people are doing this. Plus, it's young people who are finding out about politics in new ways. Plus it's way more interesting than hearing the candidates say the same things over and over. Plus, like it or not, it is news if millions of people are finding out about canddiates in a new way.

Long live Obama Girl!

Maria E., Escondido, CA   July 11th, 2007 4:23 pm ET

Can Hillary's campaign come up with ONE original idea… please???

Everything from that lame, insipid theme song to the most blandest whitewashed version of the Sopranos. yuck.

Obama's campaign is running on the creativity and originality of its supporters. Hillary's campaign is a day late and a dollar short (or $10 million short)

Marc, Seattle   July 11th, 2007 4:16 pm ET

Rick, you would vote for Hillary to get us out of this stupid war. I'm completely against this war, have been from the start and I will proudly vote for Hillary so that we can get this traggic mistake behind us and move on with the business of OUR COUNTRY.

Victoria- Corning, NY   July 11th, 2007 4:11 pm ET

For a long time, college students and recent graduates have shyed away from politics. This is showing that more people from a younger age group are getting more involved. Videos like this on youtube will definitely going to get some more students and recent graduates interested!!

Mary Holland, MI   July 11th, 2007 3:52 pm ET

For those of you who continue to complain about CNN's political stories…The only way the powers that be at CNN will stop submitting silly blog reports like this is if no one comments on them. Do your complaining somewhere else–email CNN.

John S., Chicago, Illinois   July 11th, 2007 3:47 pm ET

Does Clinton have no Shame? What a pathetic attempt. Isnt it bad enough having everyone know she is only still with her husband for her career? But now she has to have people fake interest in her on a level that she only wishes were true.

Jimmy, CT   July 11th, 2007 3:32 pm ET

This video and the the Obama video are just biproducts of the digital age.

I agree with Rob, people need to stop taking it so seriously, why can't people just view it light-heartedly the way it is intended to be viewed.

Not to mention, at least this will give potential voters an idea of who's even running — I hate the idea of people who vote just based on bipartisan politics — Think for yourself, don't just be a mindless drone to red and blue. I find it ridiculous to think that everyone is divided right down the middle. There are people who vote that don't know whether we invaded Iraq or Iran, of course none of this applies to anyone reading, but you get the basis of my argument.

We have much bigger problems with the way people vote in this country than videos like this — while some may think videos like this are part of the problem — its really dependent on your perspective and the way you choose to view it.

Patricia Gonzalez, Miami, FL   July 11th, 2007 3:26 pm ET

I have to admit that this is original and also very funny. I think it's better than the Obama video. GO HILLARY!!!!

Rick, Kansas City MO   July 11th, 2007 2:56 pm ET

Why would you ever vote for Hillary if your against the war?

J, Solitude, IN   July 11th, 2007 2:50 pm ET

Will those four horsemen hurry up already? We have once again proven that the only way out is our own extinction. Now turn all eight of your TV's on, crank the AC to 40 degrees, and have all of your family members race eachother to Wal-Mart to hasten our demise.

DJ, Los Angeles   July 11th, 2007 2:49 pm ET

Yeah I agree…this is absurd. First the transgender firefighter story, now this?

These stories are getting ridiculous and are almost as bad as the Paris Hilton media circus.

Tizzle, Des Moines, IA   July 11th, 2007 2:41 pm ET

Barack Obama may be against the war, but at the same time, he supports creating a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants as do most 2008 Presidential Candidates. Is that fair? Is that safe? Is that good for the economy? Apart from Mitt Romney almost all candidates are supporting creating a path for citizenship for illegal immigrants. My question is what happens to the legal foreigners here on different visas? They are applying for a green card and have to wait 8-10 years before they get it while they could quite simply cross the border and cross back illegally and get citizenship if this bill is passed. Are these politicians crazy? What’s wrong with the 2008 Presidential Candidates? Can’t they hear the voice of the people any more? I looked and researched and did a 2008 Presidential Candidates comparison and to tell you the truth, I don’t know who to vote for. While Barack Obama is the most charismatic, Hillary Clinton seems to be the stronger of the two. Then there are the Republicans who have simply lost my faith after Bush. So in the end, we are stuck. No matter what happens, the American public is going to be in trouble one way or another.

john, NJ   July 11th, 2007 2:36 pm ET

the campaign trail is a serious issue, and its videos like these that lighten the tension of the whole process. I think the hillary video was great and people need to understand the concept of a joke. One video does not make the united states become an embarassment, we should be more embarassed of the people who run the country at this point in time than a funny video about the campaign trail.

Tallahassee, FL   July 11th, 2007 2:28 pm ET

This is great video….but then I am a male that will vote for Hillary period…since "War is not Working" lets let Hillary & Bill get us back on track.

Charlie

Richard, Ewing, NJ   July 11th, 2007 2:27 pm ET

Most ridiculous. The sad thing is that these stupid video will get significantly more air time than presidential debates. We, as a society, are responsive for these craps.

Sean, Phoenix, AZ   July 11th, 2007 2:21 pm ET

Considering how difficult it is to get people to vote in this country, this doesn't surprise me.

Heh, nobody wants to make voting and thus political involvement, a requirement for US citizens. IE, nobody wants to be forced to have to vote by law, but this does make you wonder if the validity of the idea isn't sound.

Rob, New York City   July 11th, 2007 1:55 pm ET

Betsy, stop taking yourself so seriously. This is called freedom of speech in the digital age. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

If people are dumb enough to vote on propaghanda alone then they will do so whether propaghanda is taken to the next level like here, or whether it is kept in its more traditional sphere. (like fear mongering for example)

The people who vote on the issues will continue to do so.

Moreover, have you forgotten most Americans choose not to vote anyway?

Pixie, Murfreesboro, TN   July 11th, 2007 1:49 pm ET

Agree w/all of you guys. I don't mind humor in a campaign, but to dumb it down to this level is an insult to all potential voters. Why not just have Paris Hilton campaign for you if you're gonna have this idiocy.

Anonymous   July 11th, 2007 1:43 pm ET

I'm actually ashamed that "this" is considered "NEWS". Pathetic!!!

Jason, Columbia, SC   July 11th, 2007 1:36 pm ET

So political discourse in this country has become hotornot.com now?

Well, anything's better than swift boat 527 ads.

Betsy C. Douglas, GA   July 11th, 2007 1:33 pm ET

I think videos like these are an embarrassment to the United States. It is made even worse by the fact that these videos will actually influence our presidential election by turning it into a popularity contest, not by whose political stance you agree with, but by which presidential candidate has the best looking partially clothed girl with the best body on YouTube. I think it is shameful that things like this actually influence our country's presidential elections. I think it is made even worse by the fact that you cannot find a respectable news station that will not air videos like these, which have no real political meaning, but are for 'entertainment' and ratings. Isn't that what we have shows like 'Entertainment Tonight' for? To show us all of the mindless things taking place in the world and distract us from what is actually important by placing 'hot' bodies on the air to influence our beliefs and gain stronger ratings for themselves? It would be easy to tell people like me to simply not tune in to such stories; however, it is forced upon those who actually care about the world and this country because there is no legitimate news station that does not show such atrocious 'news' stories, which must be for the sake of winning more viewers, because it is certianly not for politically educational purposes. How embarrassing.

Tom - Dedham, Mass   July 11th, 2007 1:11 pm ET

Wow, electing a president has sunk to this level? No wonder this knucklehead got elected twice, we talk more about this junk than issues.

This wil get a ton of airtime and her views (or lack of coherent ones) will be overlooked.

Stephen   July 11th, 2007 12:58 pm ET

Obama girl blows Hot 4 Hill out of the water. Hillary should really stay on Capitol Hill as the song says.
