Watch Bush discuss the Iraq Thursday.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – The House of Representatives voted 223-201 Thursday to require most U.S. troops to leave Iraq by April 1, 2008.
President Bush vetoed a war-spending bill with a similar withdrawal date in May and has threatened to spike any new effort to set a timetable for a U.S. pullout. His Republican allies in the House said the new measure has no chance of passage.
But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, said Thursday's mixed report on the progress of the war shows it's time for American troops to come home.
I think it's really sad that something that could be a useful way for people to get their opinion out has turned into a place for open warfare. C'mon people, we are all Americans, and if you don't like it, don't let the door hit you on the way out and good riddance. For the rest of us, we value our democracy, remember the one Bush has been stomping all over the last 7 years? I honestly can't believe there is anyone out there who sees him as an American president and not as a tyrant who cares nothing for what his country thinks. We are not "crazy libs." Anyone who sees the disgrace he has made out of our country and our beliefs would feel the same. To the rest of you, maybe you should move to Cuba.
