I support the vietnam vets and the troops, they support Ron Paul. It's amazing what these vets who have defended our country say about this candidate. After googling what vets are saying, this guy needs to be blackballed not only from this campaign but from our country.

Well look's like he should have taken some lessons from Doctor and war veteren Ron Paul. Don't support another Vietnam and don't support big government spending. Especially in your own campaign. Just look at the issues and see who's the clear winner on principle.

It is his sheer arrogance that finally got to him. How can you rub it in people's faces his support for the Iraq fiasco and to add icing to his cake----a general amnesty for everyone here illegally. Why doesn't he ask if people with relatives who have been waiting 25 years or more for their loved ones to come legally, if the immigration bill he supported is fair?
Good riddance to John McCain!!

R.I.N.O. McCain was more of a sore loser than Al Gore in 2000 and been a thorn in the back of Free American everysince. He stiffled our free speach with Senator Feingold and tried to shove over 12 million illegal down our throats to pay for with Ted Kennedy. The Backstabber deserves to go away. He'll never get the nomination anyway. Fred Thompson 2008!

Since he was trying so hard to shove the "illegal" immigration bill down the American people's throat, he should move to Mexico. I bet they would love his ass. Go and represent Mexicans and you don't belong here, you indecisive quisling. You are finished, Johnny. You are not a true conservative. Michael Savage, who is a true conservative and a patriot, for the President of United States of America. Michael is the real thing.

Heathyr, a “PROUD AMERICAN,” says the correct punishment for illegal refugees is to send them to Iraq to fight.

I guess this means serving in Iraq is punishment. It certainly seems like punishment, since Republicans in the Senate just blocked a bill that would have given our soldiers reasonable and adequate rest between tours of duties. And also, since we sent troops to Iraq without adequate body armor or planning, or support.

What crimes have our sons and daughters done that they should be given this punishment?

Following McCain pancanlview says, “They will follow the troops home!”

Who are “they”? Are “they” Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia (which was formed after the Iraq invasion and plays a relatively small role in the Iraqi insurgency) or Osama Bin Laden’s Al Qaeda (who were responsible for 9/11 and are now building up strength right we left them when we pulled troops out of Afghanistan to go to Iraq, a country that had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11).

Please tell me: Why would Bin Ladin’s Al Qaeda be reluctant to attack the United States as long as our troops in Iraq? Their ability to strike in the United States has nothing to do with whether or not American troops are in Iraq.

Then tell me: How in the world would Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia follow us home? And why would they want to? Their bloody mission to simply to get us to leave.

Echoing McCain, pancanlview continues “Because they are stronger today than ever.” Again, who is “they,” Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia or Osama Bin Laden’s Al Qaeda. The former is holding its own, and the latter is indeed getting stronger. Actually, the main reason the people who attacked us on 9/11 have gotten stronger is the American invasion of Iraq, an amazing gift, a magnificent recruiting tool.

I accuse you and your beloved senator of simple-minded confusion.

***start a grass roots campaign here in Arizona that gives citizenship to illegals willing to serve a couple years overseas in the military***

I couldn't agree more! I say that all illegals caught crossing the border have TWO options.
1.) Serve in our military, give them a backpack with the essentials, a gun and a jug of water and send them to Iraq
2.) Don't serve in our military and we ship them over to Iraq without the pack, gun or water

One might think TWICE before committing a CRIME of coming into our country ILLEGALLY!

Where did the money go? People have a short memory when it comes to McCain. Remember the "Keating 7"? John was one of them and suspected of bilking Lincoln Thrift Savings and Loan. Charles Keating took the fall. So John now takes funds in campaign contributions and bails. Go figure! He cut his staff and their pay. He would have lost all staffers to cheaper Hispanics had the immigration bill passed. Way to go John. McCain should be more focused on saving his Senate seat, as President is out of the question. Don't let the door hit you on the way out...

It's about time. I only wish their are enough funds left in the campaign to fuel the "Straight Talk Express" and drop McCain off at the retirement home in Arizona. If he isnt smart enough to distance himself from the nitwit in office, he surely isnt smart enough to be our president.

My favorite GOP talking point is to make sure to blame the Iraqi government for failing to make progress in stabilizing Iraq.

Yeah, let's not place the blame where it should lie: George W. Bush and his neoconservative handlers, for taking the lid off this Pandora's box. Let's blame Iraq's government for doing such a poor job of trying to put the lid back on.

The fact is that President Cheney knew what would happen in Iraq and led Mr. Bush and the country into this awful mess anyway. So how does one not get impeached for putting profits ahead of your country's interests?

Yeah, let's not place the blame where it should lie: George W. Bush and his neoconservative handlers, for taking the lid off this Pandora's box. Let's blame Iraq's government for doing such a poor job of trying to put the lid back on.

You all are are doing exactly what the media want you to do: give up on this guy. I'm not a McCain supporter, but give the guy a break! Primaries are still several months away, but because all of these fools (politicians) have been campaigning since the last election, there's a false sense of urgency. The primaries are not tomorrow.

CNN, get off McCain's back. You already pushed "second tier" candidates off the cameras in the debates, and you gave only the 3 "leading" Democratic candidates a chance to talk about "faith" in your recent special. "Second tier" candidates don't stand a chance because they can't get the exposure that the CNN darlings get...unless, of course, their campaigns were to have problems the level of McCain's...

I guess we can also thank the Democrats for handing the debate monopoly over to CNN since they whined and cried enough about Fox News.

O, how the mighty are fallen!

Colin Powel’s sterling career was permanently stained by his loyalty to Bush. Many others also.

And now McCain. The Strait-Talk Express has been permanently derailed. McCain’s reputation for candor and integrity has always been over-rated, but now he has become a joke.

His fall began when he turned down John Kerry’s suggestion that he might consider being Kerry’s running mate. Then, after a mysterious weekend at Crawford, Texas, McCain sold his soul to the devil and began campaigning nationally for Bush.

Here’s what Josh Marshal said this morning, “McCain is a good example of the fact that life can take almost everything away from you, and usually does. But your dignity you've got to give away. And he did.”

Mc Cain needs to do something dramatic. He needs to fully support Bush. If he just says he talked to God and God said to stay in Iraq, if he brings Seabiscuit (Michael Brown) into his campaign as director of natural calamities, if he hires Scooter and promises a second pardon after Bush pardons him, if he hired Karl Rove, if he promises to replace all federal workers with Haliburton on no-bid contracts, he'll change his fortunes for sure.

It's not enough to just support the war and immigration.

The repuglicons are moving away from Bush, because the oil deal in Iraq is not going so well. Poor Exxon/Mobil. But this guy who Bush ripped into in 2000, still kisses his butt. Warmonger Moron.

John,

You are a great senator, but please drop out & turn on this corrupt administration.

The republican party needs to be saved & you can help by telling the truth.

Once upon a time, John McCain WAS a courageous American.

That was a long time ago. Today's John McCain is a guy who, AFTER the Bush people spread rumors that his wife was nuts and that he had an out-of-wedlock black child, STILL literally and figuratively embraced George W. Bush.

Who could support a man who won't even stick up for his wife and child? Time to check into the home, Johnny. Your time has come and gone.

Had he been a strong supporter of border security and the elimination of illegal immigration into this nation, he would probably have been the next President. Instead he spendt his time going around the country, and informing Americans on how lazy they are, that we would'nt pick lettuce for 50 dollars an hour. Some people have said he is involved in business with the Narco state known as Mexico. Enough said?

All of these "dancing on the grave" comments about the demise of McCain's candidacy are off the mark. First, his major donors have indicated that they're going to stick with him. Second, his experience and knowledge outpaces the rest of the field (Democrats included) by miles. Third, his record of overcoming personal and political adversities makes all of the other candidates pale in comparison. In addition, each time he hits the campaign trail in earnest, his poll numbers go up. If Bill Clinton can survive woes on the campaign trail that should have buried his candidacy in 1992, then John McCain can certainly rebuild his support in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Is John McCain a top tier candidate? No. But he is still winning in a dozen primary states, and even without the money, he already has huge name recognition. So, It is important to realize that McCain still has a shot, even if he's not a front-runner. Its Six months before Iowa!

Either way i'm not pulling for him; i'm going for Romney.
