CNN's Jeanne Moos reports on a new music video pitting Obama girl against Giuliani girl. Who wins the political pillow fight?

WASHINGTON (CNN) - It’s only fitting that in a summer dominated by movie sequels, the team responsible for the wildly popular “I’ve got a crush on Obama” online video is out with what they hope to be another blockbuster, “Obama girl vs. Giuliani girl.”

The follow up from the folks at barelypolitical.com was released Monday and already has been viewed over 160,000 times on YouTube. Business was so great on their Web site that it temporarily crashed just after the new video debuted.

The video features a war of wards between the ‘Obama girl’ and the ‘Giuliani girl,’ and culminates in a pillow-fight between the two rival supporters.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's campaign would not comment on the new video, just as Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's campaign had no comment on the first Obama girl video.

But, as CNN’s Jeanne Moos reports, while the creators of the “Obama girl vs. Giuliani girl” video say they were aiming for balance, it sure seems like Obama girls gets off most of the zingers.

Ben Relles, one of the creators of the video, brushed aside suggestions his videos are trivializing the political process, telling CNN, “I don't think it's trivial any more than the ‘Daily show’ or ‘Saturday Night Live.’”

Brian Furtney, the reason America has lost it's sense of humor with politics is because of the very serious consequences we have been suffering from them, far more than YOU I might add. Mind your own business, Canada. (I wish we could do the same....)

I hear ya, but "NEWS" isn't the job of people who do news-for-profit and want website hits.
Given that most Americans are morons, simple nonsense is probably the best way to reach them and turn a buck. The smart three or four of our fellow countrymen don't care about this drivel, and the rest will never not care about it.

Hey LoooseyGoosey. There's already a Hillary Girl video out on You Tube.

LOL
When’s “Hillary girl” coming out??

Its a shoe-in for a smashing hit on liberal news networks.

Politics is trivial and what betetr way to expose that getting a bunch of 'hoochie mamas' to cheer on their candidates. Hey! They vote too you know!

Some day the grown ups are going to take over. What then?

Paul, New Orleans, LA   July 17th, 2007 8:27 pm ET

Does anyone even care about these videos? I guess Rudy needs them since he has nothing to stand except 9/11. Ron Paul took rudy to the woodshed on that even.
Thanks CNN for deleting comments about RON PAUL!

Wow... can everybody just get over themselves for just a minute..... No, this is not earth shattering news. Nor is it in the slightest bit intended to be "serious". Those LOOKING for ANY excuse to throw the now dirty word, 'liberal' out there (because some people are dumb enough to actually believe it is an insult), really need to take their tax breaks given in this time of war, and buy a freaking sense of humor. The sabers don't have to be drawn on EVERYTHING, do they??? Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, can't something be done for just a chuckle? Geez, already...

Rick, Houston TX   July 17th, 2007 6:02 pm ET

Like anything to do with Paris Hilton, I cannot believe this is actually on CNN. I think I speak for the majority here when I say who cares about this garbage?!?

Diana, Detroit   July 17th, 2007 5:23 pm ET

Is there ANYTHING in America that can't be skankified? The political process doesn't need this; it's sleazy enough already. Somebody please tell these idiots to go back to "Girls Gone Wild" or wherever they came from.

Jenna, San Luis Obispo, CA   July 17th, 2007 5:21 pm ET

Of course it is trivial!

...just like the current political scene...

"Judy" better worry about the "none of the above" girl, 23% and counting!

"WE THE PEOPLE"

Kim, Houston, TX   July 17th, 2007 3:58 pm ET

I truly cannot believe that the creator of this music video compares his work to that of the Daily Show...
Jon Stewart has a lot more dignity and class than this video ever will.

Bob, San Francisco, CA   July 17th, 2007 3:09 pm ET

And what's with all you conservatives and your paranoid claims of the "liberal press"??? Every time I turn on the news, it's dominated by Sean Hannity or Glen Brock (or whatever his name is). I open an issue of Time only to find commentaries by the likes of William Kristol and other Bush apologists. Give it up, people, you're living in a delusional world that you've been taught to believe on all of your right-wing talk shows (WHICH DOMINATE THE AIR WAVES!).

Bob, San Francisco, CA   July 17th, 2007 3:06 pm ET

I completely agree with Devin! I stopped reading the 360 blog because of all the fluff and now it's starting to pop up here on the Ticker. Please, let's keep these blogs on the thinking-side of things.

Jeannie is Sacramento summed up what I want to say about this video perfectly.

So, how do we convince our friends in the Arab world that women in booty shorts are not essential aspects of the democratic process?

Jimmy, there's a FEC report that has all of it, and you can probably find a link on most blogs. Or most articles usually have the totals for each candidate.

And to add to the Obamagirl vs. Giulianigirl craziness, there is now Hillarygirl. No, I am not kidding. What's next? Thompsongirl?

Devin Rentz Portland, OR   July 17th, 2007 1:49 pm ET

i can't believe this is on the political ticker. i come here to avoid the fluff that makes up most news today, but to no avail

Wakeup   July 17th, 2007 1:22 pm ET

This is all very cool stuff. But the problem is that this audience has never voted in large numbers during elections. Its a wasted effort being highlighted by a liberal press still trying to sway voters that don't exist.

Perry, Dallas, Texas   July 17th, 2007 1:16 pm ET

I don't think these videos are going to have a lot of political impact, but they are going to give a lot of these little bimbos TV time that they wouldn't get otherwise.

Brian Furtney, Mt. Brydges, Ontario, Canada   July 17th, 2007 1:02 pm ET

The "Obama girl" "Guiliani girl" duke it out segment was hilarious. Even funnier were the comments suggesting that it trivializes the political process. It is the American political process that trivializes itself. Americans seem to have no sense of humor when it comes to politics. In Canada, we regularly lampoon everything to do with politics,
and on publicly funded media. Lighten up, America.

LoooseyGoosey   July 17th, 2007 12:53 pm ET

David Lincoln, NE   July 17th, 2007 12:46 pm ET

While this video probably is very trivial. The use of online videos is going to be huge for this election. I expect about 1/4 of the the voting population to get much of their input on the primaries and then later the presidential election, from online sources. Videos are more convincing than just words online, making the videos that are posted in support of candidates very important.

Jimmy, NY, NY   July 17th, 2007 12:23 pm ET

Where can you find how much each candidate raised for the second quarter. Sure, I'd love to search each name, but could you make a table for the readers?

Jeannie in Sacramento, CA   July 17th, 2007 12:11 pm ET

Earth to Ben Relles - The Daily Show is a comedy show that's witty and sharp, focusing on political issues that challenge anyone's position on the politics of the day. Your video is tasteless and tedious and is a microcosm of the dumbing down of America. Scantily-clad girls using street language and pillow fights to represent serious politics? Puhleeeze!
