Protester removed from Fred Thompson event

A protester questioned Thompson’s conservatism Wednesday.

HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) – A woman screaming “you’re not a real conservative, sir” was removed by police from a welcoming reception for likely GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson Wednesday morning. A second protester was also taken from the room.

Houston police officers escorted the woman — as well as a man — from the hangar at Hobby Airport, where Thompson was shaking hands with a crowd of supporters. They were not arrested.

The woman questioned Thompson as he talked to reporters. She asked him why he was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and noted that the organization supported the North American Union with Canada and Mexico.

After the woman interrupted Thompson by questioning his conservative credentials, the likely candidate said, “Don’t fuss at me. You asked me a question. Let me answer it.” He told the woman, “I try to learn as much as I can from all viewpoints.”

Later, she shouted at Thompson as the news conference ended. Police officers took her outside a fenced area near the hangar, and stood with her until the former Tennessee senator departed.

Editor’s Note: In the comments section below (#4), the woman has identified herself as a member of the group “Houston 9/11 Truth.” In a video of the incident linked on her blog, she is also heard charging the attack in New York on 9/11 was a “inside job.”

Go to this web site to compare Thompson's voting record to that of Ron Paul. Then you will see who the REAL conservative is.

Way to prove your objectivity Mr. CNN. Very subtle how you left out the woman's entire quote, including the bit about world trade center seven and an 'inside job'. She is so obviously a pompous rouge liberal at the very least or a Democratic party operative in the worst case. She's likely one of those Moveon.org rabble or Code Pink idiots. No conservative would ever spout such seditious drivel that the likes of Rosie O'Donnell and the Professor Charlie Sheen. But I suppose that's to be expected from the propaganda wing of the Democratic party, oops, I mean 'free press'.

Bush is also in favor of the NAU. Does this mean Bush is not a true conservative?

Bush is not a true conservative, he teamed up with Teddy Kennedy to write the education bill. He created a huge new unfunded entitlement program (senior drug program). He doesn't care enough about the security of the nation to secure the borders of this country.

I love the "don't fuss at me". The first thing that caught my eye with this guy is he gives straight answers and doesn't speak DIPLO-double-talk. I'm so sick of these politicians who "sound articulate and presidential" answering a question for 2 minutes and not even getting to specifics which could be said by Newt or Fred in 20 seconds.

As usual, the Ron Paul shills are thick tonight. The man has some good ideas, but for crying out loud, he hasn't a SHOT at winning the general election. He's like a whiny little Kucinich type. Like a little rat. "Ehh, ehh, they attacked us on 9/11 because of our presence in the Middle East". Give me a break.

I wonder how many liberals are out there commenting or 'activating' on conservative candidates, or potential candidates, in order to hopefully split the vote enough to allow the Democrat Party a better shot at a win in '08? Ron Paul and Mike Gravel seem to be unlikely, sorry attempts to this end. It is way to early to even consider, much less attempt to be, a political party nominee for president. The majority of people in this country, silent or otherwise, have much more important things to attend to than wasting time listening to bloviating idiots on the campaign trail or on meaningless posts on websites like this opining on events almost a year and a half before an election.

Dave does not seem to understand that acting is an honest occupation. George Murphy became a US Senator. Gopher became a Congressman from Iowa. Clint Eastwood became the Mayor of Carmel, CA and Sonny Bono became the Mayor of Palm Springs and then a US Congressman. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the Governor of California, as was Ronald Reagan, who then became one of the GREATEST Presidents the USA has ever known. Acting is a valid profession (gee, it's even taught in Leftist universities, isn't it?) and there is no reason to exclude actors from politics. HOLDING SUCH A VIEW IS BIASED, BIGOTED, NARROW-MINDED, JUDGMENTAL, INTOLERANT, UN-AMERICAN, (and completey irrational).

I thought Leftists were supposed to be so darn open-minded. Isn't "tolerance" and "diversity" two of their favorite mantras? Oh, that's right, that demand only applies when Democrat whacky sub-groups aren't being welcomed with open arms into polite society, so the Democrat orders about being "tolerant" and "diverse" only applies to Republicans.

These Ron Paulites are pretty desperate to constantly beat up on Thompson who hasn't even thrown his hat in the ring. "On the other hand Ron Paul has been married for 50 years and is a long time pro-lifer. Why are these “conservatives” backing Thompson?" As the Wizard might say – Ron Paul may be more conservative, but Fred Thompson has one thing that Ron Paul doesn't... CHARISMA. Plus instant name and face recognition, so - like it or not - that's what can attract moderates and even Dems disgusted with the 'Bama-Clinton foodfight.

What is a neo-con ? Well that's PC for a conservative Jew or one sympathetic to them. What is a 'real conservative' ? That's a definition relative to one's belief. What's a clueless moonbat ? Well that's people that toss these bumper-sticker concepts around not having a clue what they are talking about but think it makes them sound 'in the know' to other clueless moonbats.

Fred Thompson is both a fiscal and social conservative on most issues. Certainly more conservative than President Bush is. I care little that partisans of other candidates interrupt public events like spoiled unruly children. BTW, I also like Duncan Hunter & Tom Tancredo. If either of them can get some traction then I could well support either. Until then, I will support the most conservative candidate with the best chance to unite most of the GOP and beat the Democrat Socialist candidate (probably she whose name I shall not speak). Right now that is Fred Thompson.

It's definitely important to see the longer video on Youtube from that lady showing what really happened when she asked about his membership in the CFR. I am very proud and grateful that there are people like her getting out there and asking these questions. These CFR traitors need to be exposed for their treason!

"Free trade" is not the same thing as "free trade agreement." Free trade doesn't need an agreement. An agreement (by agreement) restricts trade on those who are not a part of it (like a small U.S. company lacking the economies of scale to outsource in a third world country). More specifically, NAFTA benefits a lot of people with homes in Nantucket, and it gives jobs to a lot of poor people in MEXICO. It screws the U.S. middle class. But worst of all, it necessitates open borders, which will be the death of us all...unless maybe these CFR-lauding, NAFTA-phantic, armchair economists all move to beautiful Tijuana and sample some free-trade water from the tap. Yeah that will give their stupid fat mouths something else to vomit out.

Neo Con Artists destroyed the Conservative movement deliberately, God Help us when the socialists get in.

They will not reverse the freedom eroding laws enacted by the NeoCons.

They are traitors to America and the entire Western World.

Fred Thompson is another one of them. The entire political system of the USA needs to be purged of these traitors, many of them deserve jail time, Plame-Gate, AIPAC-Gate, Abramoff-Gate are just the tip of the iceburg.

Attack Iran, lose all your personal freedoms, that is what it is about.

    Destroying us from within.

    Communism from within.

    Think people.

This is crazy. She asked him about his membership in the CFR, and then she was removed. Her shouting did not begin until Thompson's brown-shirts began handling her.

"So the lady was being a jerk and he told her to be quiet and let him answer. What’s the problem with that?"

Well, Thompson didn't answer the question, did he? Just politics as usual. Fred Thompson is not a conservative. Like Giuliani or Hillary, he has no principles.

Awesome Job exposing the CFR member for what he is.. sure they only played the part that made her look the worst..

Yes, the clip cut in at the hieght of the protest/(more like just asking questions, I guess that is protesting now) when the cops were closing in on her so she was distressed and threw out the wild card with the inside job call, they will likely spin her as a crazy nut that think the building were demolished.. when any person can look at the footage again and see that it was set up by someone..

So what was Tompsons answer? Why is he in the CFR they didn't cover that part it was neatly left out.. I am sure it was some total side step answer.. I would like to see how he answered.

Why didn't the media cover his answers?

I dont who people are who are Fred is not a true conservative. He is by far the most conservative canditate wh has a chance of winnning. He is not a 'neo-con' he is actually closer to being a federalist than a conservative. He believes in small government, pro-life (look at his senate voting record), cutting taxes, border security, pro-gun, and is not afraid to stand up to dems when it comes to the war. WHat else do want? so what he supported Mccain Fiengold, one blemish, compare him to Romney, Rudy and Mccain and he is BY FAR the BEST option!!!

If Thompson was/is a member of CFR and has not denounced this dangerous lobby then that disqualifies him as a prospective president, period.

The Liberals are scared. CNN is reporting this which probably happens everyday to every candidate and Thompson hasn't even announced. I love the Ron Paul crowd here also, yeah he's a real conservative. I mean NONE of these anti Thompson posters would consider any Republican, or if they were genuine in their soul why not vote a Green candidate? It's all Democrat hit squad, 24/7/365 for 8 freaking years till Bush is gone. I want Thompson, but at this point you'd have to be crazy to actually want ANY Dem President with a Dem Congress. Remember 1993? I do, it was a big eye opener and yes I voted for Clinton. There are a whole lot of changes now and yes we are at war and yes I've served in Iraq and yes, I'm still in Kuwait supporting the War-fighters. I am astonished at all the people who are scared of Fred, it's very obvious by this (s)- hit piece from CNN, don't you think?
