Oh and "nv", alot of politicians in the US before the 1950's were socialists. Heck, here in Milwaukee, some of our best mayors (Frank Zeilder & Daniel Hoan) were socialists. Don't through the word "socialism" around and equate it to a bad thing. Many parts of America and many European nations progressed very well based on socialism.

Why is it that if you can get a public defender to defend yourself in court, you shouldn't be allowed to have the same right for a doctor?

If you're bleeding all over the street, and somebody tells you to go to a hospital ten miles away instead of the one across the street, because that's what your HMO affords you, why is that a better choice?

Anyone who thinks the issue of health care is better served by a market economy has never been sick or is so rich they didn't notice the bill.

Better yet, what is the Republican answer to fixing the flawed system we have in place? I haven't heard anything other than Rudy Gulianni's idea that we should solve it in the free market...ummm, isn't that the root of the problem??? Corporate profits outweighing the needs of the people?

Socialism is about people working together to support government programs that help other human beings, as opposed to the Bush administration and other neo-conservatives stuffing the poor under bridges. Out of sight, out of mind, ay America?
