Mitt Romney is a Morman which is very good for him an his family. The Morman church has to much control of its followers which is a bad thing. I do not want the Morman Church controlling the united states of America.

I think that both Obama and Romney have demonstrated by their using wrong titles for foreign leaders why we need someone with experience in foreign affairs. This comment should not be read as my endorsing any particular candidate. It is just meant to emphasize the need for a President who knows how to conduct himself or herself on the world stage.

Hmmm.. something substantive in opposition to Romney? Let's see.. He first ran for MA Gov. as an allegedly pro-choice/not-actively-homophobic "moderate," but now that he doesn't have to pretend to care about Massachusetts and has to play to the base, he claims to have always been anti-abortion and anti-gay.. He enlists his priveleged sons to ride a fraction of RAGBRAI for the campaign and claims that's "service to the United States of America," comparable to military service. Also, he hates public education and made that abundantly clear as Governor of Mass, allowing the state University system to reach 80% private funding and actively suppressing teacher, faculty and student unions. Oh yeah.. and the former governor of Massachusetts does not know how many counties the state has. Romney is a businessman, slick and always out for a profit. He knows he's floundering, and thinks injecting money and false interest into Iowa will buy him legitimacy.

Mr Bret, What taxation do you propose or do you think our government (that means you) should just let everything go to pot? Yes, obviously the current tax system isn't working and the loopholes can be easily exploited. I agree the fair tax proposal is the best way to go, for simplicity's sake, as long as it doesn't get twisted into something else. Back to the subject on Mitt Romney, you have to agree he carries much, much less baggage than any other candidate. Yeah, he's changed his views on things but I can't think of anyone who hasn't changed their views over the course of their lives. Just think about it, the older people get the more important social security (a failed system) is to them. What's important is we get a respectable individual in the White House, someone who doesn't have a bunch of skeletons clamoring in their closet. Neither Hillary Clinton or that clown Barrack Obama fit the leader image we need as president, that's for sure. At least Romney has actually DONE something other than be elected. We need a proven leader, not someone who has run a campaign to get elected to Congress.

James, NY NY – you are mislead, my man. The Constitution doesn't have anything about varying tax rates based on income – in fact, any tax on INCOME would be ANATHEMA (that means, it would make them explode or kill somebody [or both]) to the authors of that document.

Do some research man. We can live just fine without income taxation. In fact, we'd be a heck of a lot better off than we are now.

And that is why Ron Paul is the only one worth voting for!

Which politician respects the constitution? If any of them did we would have varying tax rates based on income. Also name a candidate who doesn't flip flop.

Romney's going to win the Straw Poll tomorrow hands down, because he's bought thousands of tickets and is going to give everyone a free ride, among other free crap. He's essentially buying the poll tomorrow. As an Iowan, I would hope that the rest of my fellow Iowans don't actually believe what this guy says... Vote for that other guy... You know, the one who doesn't flip-flop, respects the Constitution, and is a true Conservative... yeah, that guy, vote for him...
