I find it interesting that there are several white women labelling Oprah as a biggot for supporting Obama...these are the same women that go on the Oprah show and accept "Oprah's favorite things!"

It's funny... many white women expect black women to support them on issues of sex, however when it comes to issues of race those same white women are no where to be found.

This is facsinating, I personally know Magic Johnson, and was suprised, not that he came out for Hillary, but that he an others committed so soon. I beleive that we lose our bargaining power and ability to be brokers when we committ so early.

However, when there is something in it for an individual or group lookout. Joel Ferguson of Lansing MI. has been named Hillarys state chair in Michigan, you remember, he chaired Jesse Jacksons suceessful caucus win in Michigan in 1984 and 1988. Well, Joel is magic's mentor and a member of Michigan State University's board of trutees, where Magic played college basketball. I' going to keep it real, I don't care who they endorse or raise money for, but when they walk in that voting booth as a blackman or woman, and think about the 400 years in this nation an not even a black vice president ever, after all their talk, rallying and activism, and now for the first time in my lifetime we have a candidate with poise, conviction, charcter, Vision, (For Black Women) he is married to a Blackwoman, If you are black and do not vote for this brother, I don't ever want to hear any of you blame whitepeople for anything anymore. I also beleive that Barack is the best candidate for white and brown America, if they can past their personal prejudices and give Obama a chance. Black prople have supported every runin tutin guy for the past 40 years, some even voted for Reagan and Both Bush's, It is time that we listen to the wisdom out of the mouth of someone different. Hillary would be polarizing to the repubilcans, more gridlock, but guess what no matter who wins the Joel and Magics and Ophrahs of the world will be alright, What about You!

No wonder our country is the way it is, with so many ignorant people still around. Who are we to put judgment on others. Magic Johnson, you are a great person who has done so much for those in need. It is great that you are giving Hillary your support!

I've watched all the debates, where exactly does Clinton copy Obama/Edwards? The next president is going to be walking into the Lion's den, that's why Hilliary is right for this election. After the democrats create a more friendly environment Obama can come in and continue to the work.

As an African American male, I have alot of respect for Senator Obama. I beleive he is sincere about his goals and visions for our country. However, he is lacking in experience. Senator Hillary Clinton has tested the waters and has the experience to get this country back on track. There are those who have compared Obama to the late President John Kennedy....I'm sorry Obama you are not a John Kennedy. My advice to Senator Obama: Get some more years under your belt as a Senator and than consider running again. Hillary Clinton has my vote. Who will Hillary choose as her vice-president? (Obama maybe--- that would be interesting......

Chelsea Clinton actually went to public schools in Arkansas. When Bill Clinton became president, they had to put her in private school for her safety. Reporters could have spent all day following Chelsea at a public school because it is public property.

I concur... Magic must have gotten a kick back or two from the Clinton entourage. He is a sell out, but one thing is for sure he doesn't have the money or the broad-based support that Oprah has. The only pull he has are a few other Black sell outs who are not politically astute and I feel I can say that cause I'm Black. Magic needs to stick to what he knows best economic and community development in urban neighborhoods. We can applaud him for that.

"Who is more pro-public schools - Hillary Clinton"

If she is SO pro-public schools, why did she send Chelsea to private school?

Good enough for everyone else, but not my kid.

Actions speak louder than words.

More Kool-Aid please.

Ryan, actually you would surmise (make an inference). Summize? Never heard of it, is that some sort of mathematical operation?

I'm glad I am a 'no' nothing, unedumacated peopler lacking higher education degrees. If we wood all bee so smarter as you is, we could have bin righting long runnin' on sentences and contenyoually voting for Ted Kinnady.

I am of the opinion that so many of us seek to see the negative side of Hilary while so easily forgetting all of her positive attributes. She has for many years clearly communicated her support for minorities, women, children, the poor and those without health benefits. One should read her autobiography and her children´s book "it takes a village" to gain a better understanding of this talented woman. Could we please stop comparing her to her husband, they are two separate human beings and if nothing else she has been helped by living through both Bill´s successes and mistakes. I think Hillary is by far the best candidate whose life and political experiences make her the most fit candidate for the job.

The scenario is obvious, A Clinton presidency promises a Republican comeback in the House and the Senate. What you get is more of the same.Opening of the old wounds from the Clinton years. Nothing gets done on Immigration, health care, education and all these promises she's been making. Does anybody know where she stands on any of these important issues, as it's turning out, she's a flip flop like Romney and very good at 30 sec sound bites prepared by her handlers

Let Magic support whom he wants, it's his business.

Hillary is still a fake and will soon be found out. Her contradictory comments are now starting to come out, thanks to Youtube. The primaries are almost 6 months away, so there is time for people to see the real Hillary.

What's with all the racially-charged endorsements??? Anyway, I'm sure Hillary would much rather have the endorsement of Magic Johnson over the "fake" Winfrey. For all we know Obama might turn out to be just as fake as Oprah. WE LOVE YOU HILLARY!!!

The comments on this blog are ridiculous. It shows what a CHAUVINISTIC country that we live in. Get off the BUSH-CLINTON-BUSH-CLINTON issue and realize that Hillary Clinton is not just a Clinton but HILLARY. She is a Senator by her on means. She is not connected to her husband at the hip. She did not even change her name when she married Bill Clinton until he ran for Governor the second time in order to help HIS campaign. Not hers. She has had a plethora of accomplishments that were built on her own name, not Bill's. If you would like to stop being ignorant and actually learn about someone before you vote blindly then go read about their life...not just Obama's or Edwards.

The fact that there is so much division amongst our own party is ridiculous and that we are comparing a strong democrat to a Republican president is sick. Go look at Obama's voting record. Who is more pro-public schools - Hillary Clinton - Obama supports vouchers and Charter schools. Who is more anti-gun - Hillary Clinton - Obama supports gun ownership. Obama - he support military expansion. Hillary, she's actually not that big of a supporter, except in supporting the troops. Get off the Iraq War. Half this country supported the stupid war. Did you apologize when you supported it? I think every person in this country that supported the Iraq War and has since realized that it was a mistake, should go find the parents, wife, sibling of a deceased soldier and go apologize for your support of the war. Me, I can be as self-righteous as Obama because I never supported it. Do you really want to go do that? Every single day for the rest of your life. Because really, by you supporting it..you are the one that pushed your congress man or woman to vote for it. Because remember, that after all, they do represent their constituents. So, why don't you start apologizing everyday? Because that's what all of you want your candidates to do.

to everyone of you who uses the term "Flip Flopper":
i commend you on:

1)never having reevaluated anything in your entire life
2)loving the classic sandal style so much as to endorse this term that unconsciously markets said footwear
3) deciding that the REPUBLICAN given words (flip-flopper) will govern your DEMOCRATIC PARTY views.

stop being gnomes of ignorance.

Support from "Magic" Johnson; a black man with brain is very valuable than Oprah who is very racist. It’s my big mouth, Oprah is not only racist also sucks all the money from poor blacks of the USA and donates that money in African country. In every black’s house people will have cable to watch her show but she doesn’t care about them, shame on her! What ever people will say, Hillary is shining star and Obama is a fake cookie. Obama is just like a Chinese food for American 15 yrs ago, even though its high fat and adulterated they like it because its new.

I am amazed at some of the postings I have read. I can summize that most of these postings are from uneducated people lacking higher education degrees or who no nothing about political science and how politics and elections work. Here's a lesson for many of you. Bottom line, candidates need a LOT of money to run a successful campaign...it's called a "war chest", so when someone offers their support to a candidate and offers to host a fundraiser to do just that, RAISE MONEY, and it follows the rules of campaign finance reform, a candidate should partake in such a fundrasier. Hillary didn't ask Magic Johnson to host an event for her, he is hosting the event for her. Get it? She would be a fool to decline a legitimate fundraiser. Get a clue and get educated people.

HILLARY 2008!!!!

Magic Johnson never said that he would not endorse a political candidate. Oprah did say that. She's a hypocrit. She can't even give a convincing reason for why she support Obama: "I know him personally." Sure you do O! You and Obama have lunch everyday along with Gayle. Come on, right??!!??

I'm a Democrat, and African American, and a long time fan of Oprah Winfrey. However, I hate a liar. If she didn't want to support Al Gore or John Kerry in their presidential elections, she should not support Obama. I cannot argue with my white friends who argue that it's only beceause he's black. Race doesn't matter. The most qualified person for the job should become president. Hands down that Hillary Clinton.

Shame on you, Oprah. Putting race before principles.

This quote by destardi, after making the point that there is "NO DIFFERENCE" between Obama and Clinton in their voting records, seems odd:

"Hillary, has years of experience in the day to day business of getting things done."

Most Americans are fed-up with the government for years of the day-to-day business NOT getting done.

In this instance, it looks like she was beaten to the punch.

There has to be some rational discussion of RELEVANCE here. Oprah is the wealthiest woman in the world who has been one of the biggest power-brokers in the entertainment world and has been extremely influential in the opinions of tens of millions of women nationwide on national and international issues for decades... Johnson played basketball over a decade ago, and has done little that has been noted by the news and is largely forgotten... Yet somehow CNN posts this crap news story implying the support of an old ex-ball player to be as important as a billionare power-broker entertainment mogul.
I don't care who you support, if you don't see this for the pathetic pro-Hillary propaganda that it is you are far too dumb to determine who should and should not lead the free world.

The last thing we need to do is bash any democrat or their supporters. As an African America female executive--I am for Hilary because I beleive she is the best qualified and is ready to lead today at this moment, as does Magic.

Let's be bigger then this and keep our eyes on the prize -- being in the White House in January 2009. All this negativity is just what the other side wants. We have the best group of democratic candidates then we have had in a long time.

Don't hate the player hate the game. We are winning but your team still has a chance and any democrat would be a million times better than Giuliani, Romney, Thoompson, McCain and so on.

Hilary Supporter in Atlanta

The last thing we need to do is bash any democrat or their supporters. As an African America female executive–I am for Hilary because I beleive she is the best qualified and is ready to lead today at this moment, as does Magic.

Let's be bigger then this and keep our eyes on the prize - being in the White House in January 2009. All this negativity is just what the other side wants. We have the best group of democratic candidates then we have had in a long time.

Don't hate the player hate the game. We are winning but your team still has a chance and any democrat would be a million times better than Giuliani, Romney, Thoompson, McCain and so on.

Stay focused on winning the White House not bashing Hillary or Oprah, Barack on anyone else,

Love your passion and comitment to the process.

For the 100th time...Do just a little research; Hillary Clinton's and Obama's voting records are IDENTICAL. There is NO DIFFERENCE between their political stance; Obama follows like a lemming, after he sees how the experienced insiders vote.

Hillary, has years of experience in the day to day business of getting things done.

It doesn't matter who serves first.Hillary & Obama for the next 16 years what a run. You know its going to take that long for this country to again witness the good times we had under the 1st black president Mr. Bill Clinton. Hillary and Obama will make a difference.
You have no right to judge Magic. This is free Country like you said. Magic is higher class than any African American. He is a real gentleman, I think it is a great thing to support Hillary, because Hillary is the best candidate among 16 candidates. Magic is doing beautiful thing, he will prove to people he is doing right thing
for Hillary and America.

People -- Get over it! Hillary Clinton is going to be our next President. :) She is the BEST choice out there. Even Karl Rove said she'd win (whether he likes it or not). My educated guess is he has a little more political experience then you people!! Oprah can't even say anything bad about Hillary --

Have you seen "Sicko"? I'm dissappointed in Magic. Obama clearly has the right agenda for the American people and Mrs. Clinton does not. The only argument in favor of Clinton these days is that she is "experienced" and that Obama isn't as much as she. But Obama is the better candidate when one speaks about positive change for the people of this country. Besides, Mrs. Clinton does not have a backbone.

Magic Johnson is not obligated to support Obama just because he is bi-racial (not black). Obama passed over two qualified Black candidates for mayor here in Chicago to support Daley after he said he would remain neutral. Why? Because Daley's brother signed on to his campaign and so it was a political move. Obama is not a purist he's a hypocrite and a regular politician. Get over it PEOPLE, he is not different than any other politician. Magic Johnson has a long relationship with the Clintons. Bill Clinton worked with him in some of his inner-city programs and so did Hillary. That means more than supporting somebody just cause they the flavor of the season. Right on Magic...Right On

I am not American, therefore I cannot vote.

What is pathetic also, Matthew Law, is that for a country with interests and obligations all over the globe, the logic of choosing should depend on kingmakers (no pun intended) and from vacuous opinions rather than core facts.

I think its great that Magic is backing Hillary. Where is Rev. Jackson right now. He is backing Obama now for one reason. He use to back Hillary before but he picked Obama for obvious reasons. Obama has no experience. Talking about copying something someone says. Atleast Hillary has her own voice.

"But guess whos attendings Oprahs fund raiser, Pretty much all the other big names in that African Americans follow. I just want to know what Hillary Clinton idea's that she have that are actually for black people!"

Hey Lavelle. You say Obama is for all cultures. Well, these two comments of your's fail to support that. I'm on the fence as to who I'm voting for, but I have to commend Magic and Clinton. Shame on Oprah for turning this into a racial issue. You can endorse, campaign, fundraise, or whatever else you want to do to support a candidate, but you don't need to alienate other races to do so. By fueling the racial comments surrounding Obama, other cultures will feel alienated further. Is American ready for a black president? We were until a big deal was made about the color of his skin.

I can't for the life of me see how anyone can support Hillary when (again) after spooking over the Oprah for Obama shindig, she goes and wheedles for a high profile fundraiser host and bash to top, or equalize, the Oprah Obama one; and then makes sure it's held a week later so she can first see how much the Oprah Obama bash brings in so her Magic Clinton bash could top it and then splatter her caching all over the media, as usual. Ho hum. Nothing new. Again, if she gets in the White House, all she'll be doing is calling Barack Obama on her 'secret Obama call-up phone' -- for advice.

All of this is a mute point, because Hillary is clearly going to get the nomination and let's be honest....a vote for Hillary is a vote for Bill and Bill would win hands down against anyone right now. In regards to Oparah...remember she built a school in another country while American children need just as much support. Not sure if her decision making process is a very successful one to follow. I mean she did want a retail store to open after it was closed just because she was Oparah.

Why are Americans so insistent on keeping the status quo?

The end result, this double-helix of a two 'royal family' ascension to the White House. Bushes-Clintons-Bushes-Clintons. We might as well call this the kingdom of the United States. I guess when Hillary's eight years are up, we'll vote Jeb Bush in. Just plain stupid.

Americans are so pathetic . . . and predictable. They complain about politics as usual, but then vote for politics as usual. Complain about the war, then vote for someone who supports the war. Complain about special interests, then vote for someone beholding to special interests.

Americans lack the courage for change.

This is pathetic. Magic sees even more dollar signs coming his way. Plain and simple.
