“There will be crime in the streets of Iraq… for many years to come”

What’s going on in the streets of Iraq isn’t crime, Greg, it’s civil war. The USA can’t win it or lose it because it’s not our fight. Our fight is with al Qaeda, not the Shiites and Sunnis and Kurds. We need to get out of there before any more American troops get killed.

Ironic that the national "poll" rankings are a mirror image of the amount of money the candidates have raised. Much of the media (on both sides) annointed Queen Hillary long ago. Despicable. Issues/stances mean very little. It all comes down to Money and Power (perceived).

Greg from Phoenix, the only person thats going to be paying for anything is you on election night 2008, while you are crying in your corner watching Obama get elected to the Presidency.

So What's new?

We grew up knowing the Goverment is a pack of lies!

Why change now?

Bench Marks actually function as a Time Table. When Bush demanded Bench Marks instead of a Time Table, both the President and Congress got their way. Bush got Congress to call their Time Table Bench Marks and the Democratic Congress got Bench Marks with a Time Table.

Now, that it is Time to evaluate the Bench Marks, is there any difference between a time table with bench marks or bench marks on a time table?

If the Iraqi Government meets the Time Table Bench Marks, then since they are “standing up” we can “stand down”.
If the Iraqi Government is unable to meet the Time Table Bench Marks, then since “they failed” we are going to pull out.

Either way, WE ARE OUT OF THERE!

I for one think it is COMPLETELY inaccurate to suggest that our military has "lost" anything.

Seem to remember our military going in and liberating Iraq in about the same amount of time it takes to order a Big Mac.

The fact that some yahoos continue blowing themselves up in an effort to turn American public opinion against the war does not equate to a "loss" by our military.

There will be crime in the streets of Iraq (just like there will be crime in the streets of the USA)) for many years to come and I don't think we should back down just because the operation hasn't gone as smoothly as some would have liked.

The fact that the Democratic candidates have tried to USE this in order to curry public favor is REPREHENSIBLE and they will MOST DEFINITELY pay for it come election time.
