So Bush is good for the economy and Bill Clinton was bad? What? When did I move to Bizzarro World? Also, Clinton balanced the budget by the end of his first term after 12 years of deficit spending by the Reagan-Bush I years, so the fact that Bush's deficit is not as bad as it could have been, does nothing to help him. And recent events in the stock market debunk anything the prior commentor said about Bush being good for the economy. And finally, I thought that the president has nothing to do with the economy – as per what the republicans said during the economic good days of the Clinton administration. Again Republicans=hypocrits! Sorry, those are just the facts!

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden vowed, after getting elected to the senate at the age of 29, never to get into the stock market so as not to be influenced inappropriately. He has maintained his integrity and kept his vow.

You know your a looney liberal when a Democrat presidential candidate looks at the blue sky and yellow sun and says "Look at the beautiful green sun and purple sky". I can't imagine how much it must suck to actually have someone think for you.

I feel sorry for our soliders in Iraq knowing that there are all these lemmings back in the US who believe the crap that the left side of the aisle spews about the war and everything else that they disagree with. It isn't going perfectly but since when has a war that is micro-managed by politicians ever worked well. If the politicians want to run this war I suggest they sign up in the military and go to school and learn how wars are fought.

I have my issues with Republicans as well, especially in regards to the fact we continue to export jobs and not enforce the immigration laws on the books. However they are the lesser of the two evils so I will sit back and wait for the emergence of a third party that hopefully is more in line with my own views and the Constitution of the United States (no no the UN constitution which has no bearing on this country)

Utterly amazing that Richardson would suppose Bush to be behaving like a spoiled teenager. Richardson prancing about in his motorcade at speeds in excess of 100mph! Does that sound like a spoiled teenager? Think your taxes are high? New Mexico is one of 4 states that pays gross recipts tax. Sales Tax on not only goods but services. So the window washer, in addition to paying his income tax, pays sales tax on the revenue he collected. Double taxation? Richardson can boast about having a budgetary surplus... but ask him how tight he squeezed us to get that party money. We even pay sales tax on our garbage collection. In NM the tax collectors are quite happy.

Bush's tax cuts spured the economy into the longest economic expansion in US history. Over the last 6 yrs, the GDP has grown from 7 trillion to over 12 trillion, unemployment at 4.6%. Bush brought the US roaring back from the brink of disaster left behind by the Clintons. Sorry, but that’s the historical facts Richey.

And as for as the cheat shots on big business. Why is it that you and all the other Dem cadidates own stock in Halliburton and Exxon/Mobil if they are the problem? Doesn't that make you part of the problem too??

The more the Dems talk about fixing the economy, the greater the market’s fear grows about tax and spend policies of the early 90's. Their possibility of success is helping drive down the current economic outlook and market. Just watch it crash under Hillary and a Dem Congress. God help us should Richey win.

Cheney divested from this company LONG ago, he has no holdings, no stock, no personal finacial gain in this company at all.

And for you liberals who love to keep retelling this lie, can you name the President who awarded Haliburton a no bid contract?

In 1999 Clinton went to war against Serbia over Kosovo. Halliburton got a $200 million cost/plus contract to work in Kosovo. That contract, had generated nearly a billion dollars in revenues for Halliburton

Let's see...over 10 million new jobs created, record low inflation, record tax revenue coming in, a budget deficit that has shrunk by 60% despite Iraq and Katrina, tax cuts for the middle class...yep, the economy is the worst since Hoover.

Boy, I yearn for the Jimmy Carter days. I really miss that "Misery Index" of double digit inflation and interest rates.

Let's put "Tax and Spend" back in our economy.

Bush IS a spoiled teenager. It's hard for me to believe that he is 61 years old. But what else can one expect from a man who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and never had to achieve anything on his own in his life.

We don't need to go back to the gold standard to stabilize our economy. However, we do need to stop letting these people get rich by investing on the margins. Look what happens(the last few days)when they have margin calls and investors have to pony up. They panic. Then the cry to the Feds to bail them out. Its pathethic.

I don't know Bill, because Tony Snow, Sean Hannity, and other Republican talking heads keep telling me that the economy is "humming". And these entertainers obviously know more than a person with actual experience such as yourself. That's why so many Republicans are clammoring for an actor from L.A. Law to join the race!
Oh, and if you dare criticize Halliburton and other corporate monsters, you must hate America!

Bush broke the “tax and spend” policy and replaced with the “don’t tax the rich, and send you way into unplayable debt.”

Thank God for Neo-Conservative policy where we can spend like a “drunken fool” and pass the debt on to the next President to balance the budget.

As a former energy secretary, I would think that Mr. Richardson knows what he is talking about. Put Brat in place of teenager and the comment about Bush would fit.
