Trouble in 'Law & Order' campaign?

Thompson's communication director stepped down Monday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson's communications director, Linda Rozett, resigned her post Monday, the latest staff member to depart the "Law & Order" star's presidential campaign-in-waiting, CNN's Candy Crowley reports.

Rozett's departure follows that of former campaign manager Tom Collamore, who exited the campaign last month following differences with Thompson's wife, Jeri.

    Man...

Can you imagine if Fred really WERE running for President, instead of running this "investigatory" campaign?

By this time this is all over with, Fred'll only have his baby bride to support him.

Wake up America. Thompson is a pathetic phony. Another GOPer unfit for the presidency, just like the treasonous Jr Bush! Time to exit the stage, Fred.

Fred Thompson is too old, much-too out of touch with mainstream America and apparently too cranky to be President. He needs to stay in la-la land with his corny acting and his bad ideas.

I remember when Wesley Clark jumped into the democratic primary very late- initially there was a buzz that died very quickly as soon as he entered the race. Let's hope that happens here too.

This guy is a joke. I know that he is a media darling being that he is a well known actor, but c'mon. He has less of a chance than Brownback. I am a republican leaning moderate in most elections, but this character is a non-starter to myself and the folks I talk to. Just more political theater.

So who's the racist now? So Gonzales should get away with his criminal incompetent sycophant behavior because he's Hispanic? Or being Hispanic has anything to do with lying, cheating, criminal activity? Why excuse the behavior because of the ethnic group? Cheney led the charge to destroy the Constitution, Bush went jogging, Rove handed off and Gonzales carried out the orders. Lying cheating stealing buinch of hypocrites.

Anybody who thinks Thompson is the "star" of Law and Order hasn't watched much Law and Order. His role amounts to a cameo appearance in each episode, but he is good at it. President of these United States? I hope not.

What campaign ? He has spoken fewer words than Justice Thomas and said even less. He is on a groupie ego trip and he will come down to earth soon enough. Who would vote for another Republican with a dubious history ?

    Chris, Arlington, TX,

"So fat that's all the nuts have come up with"?

    LOL! Try AGAIN kid!

Why did he only have 4 bills out of the 90 that he sponsored get passed while he was in the Senate?

Do you know he spent 18 years as a lobbyist – lobbying for German mining, Japanese autos, tobacco, asbestos and Aristide? Do you suddenly think that lobbyists have the general public's best interests at heart now too?

He expresses his opposition to abortion and his “belief in the sanctity of human life”, yet conveniently can’t remember spending 20 hours lobbying for the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association in 1991 and 1992 – making $5,000 trying to ease federal laws that restricted abortion counseling?

And there's also him being a mole for the Nixon Administration where he let them know what evidence the prosecution had and what questions they were going to ask.

Didn't Sean Hannity tell you any of that?

Thanks for posting and thus allowing me to correct you.

I doubt I'll see you around on these blogs after this eh?

Fred Thompson is beginning to remind me of Ross Perot. I have this funny feeling that he will elect not to run afterall. It would be to his credit to announce something this week.

The Thompsons marriage is none of my business.

What does concern me is that they are a couple of Washington insiders. Fred ran campaigns for Howard Baker, was legal counsel on the Watergate investigation, lobbied for asbestos, abortion, Aristide, big tobacco, cable tv, and foreign mining and auto-makers before an uneventful Senate term. Jeri Thompson worked for the Hand law firm in Washington D.C., political media consultants Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson, the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee. If we want a fresh Presidential team to clean up the mess in Washington, the Thompsons sure aren’t it. They literally represent business as usual.

Jeri Thompson has had several other high-profile clashes with her husband’s political advisors. Reportedly she is one of the driving forces in his decision to seek the Presidency. Stay tuned. This could be a fun story.

Get in the race, Fred. We are going to need you. We don't have a choice so far, either Democrat or Republican.
