This is great. We've gone from "axis of evil" to the "exit of weasels". Not a moment too soon.

Its about time. Narrow minded, myopic political agendas should not be criteria for becomming Attorney General of this country. They are supposed to work for us, not the president.
Politically, we are losing our way.

Thank God one more of the principals in the most corrupt administrations since Warren Harding;s is gone.

Gonzales' resignation is long overdue. It is one thing to replace in competent staff it is another when you stack things in your favor while ignoring constitutional principles.

The US Government doesn't need quitters. She needs fighters.

I think it's sad that the most visable representative for the nation's fastest growing minority group has fallen under such conspicuous circumstances. His memory will be one of shame, even though he is clearly trying to act in the best interests of his boss. Perhaps this will be a lesson to the current administration, that they can not promote themselves above the law, and that they will be held accountable when they do.

It's about time. This is not about him being hispanic. It's about him messing up and lying about it.

YES!!!!!! Rove, Gonzalez...let's hope they all start tumbling down. Unfortunately, for those who didn't vote for Bush et al, it's a little too late. We've got corrupt politicians running rampant using the words "Jesus" and "loyal" to justify breaking the laws of the land. We're suffering astronomical gas prices increases to support Bush and Cheney's families.

From where I sit, he wasn't qualified for the job in the first place and should have resigned at the first exposure of his dishonest behavior.

The timing of his resignation is perfect. He can face charges in court and have plenty of time to be pardoned before the president leaves the White House and moves back to Texas, where they can laugh about it all over a beer or two.

About time. As a taxpaying citizen, I am sick and tired of our government appointees (who should be treated as EMPLOYEES) waiting until the heat has passed before doing what they have to do. This man is a liar and cannot be trusted. I do not know ALL the facts surrounding this matter, but I do know that when an attorney uses the phrase "I don't recall" and "I don't know" repeatedly, there is little to no doubt that they are NOT telling the truth. Thank you.

As we enter the last 17 months of the evil empire that is the Bush administartion, I wonder are the rats leaving the ship or are they being thrown off to divert attention from the worst president in the history of the nation. Maybe both .

Another crook to leave the White House. Cherthoff is the worst replacement. Never fails, do a bum job and get rewarded with a better job. Oh, well, that's Bush for you.

Another crook from the Bush Administration resigns in disgrace. Now another cronie, Chertoff, may replace him? One crook for another, another day in the Bush war on democracy.

Who benefits? For Republicans, the issue of the firings should die down a little. Beyond that, depends on who replaces Gonzales.
