WASHINGTON (CNN) — In the latest edition of Raw Politics, CNN's Tom Foreman reports presidential candidates have descended on New Orleans to mark the two year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

That's pretty pathetic. The Dems want to show a Bush failure poster child, while the Reps want to come across as caring about the poor and downtrodden.

Nobody should have to endure what those in NOLA went thru and are still going thru — and that's the point, they don't HAVE to live in a city below sea level with sky-high murder rates, widespread corruption.

Why can't a politician point out that NOLA cannot be rebuilt to what it was, and that it is not the role of government to eliminate all human suffering when a natural disaster strikes?
