Careful with that “jumping” Pops!

The only thing worse than an “old, washed-up actor / non candidate – candidate” is an “old, washed- up actor / non candidate – candidate” with a broken hip.

Perhaps if you ever decide to actually enter the race, you should “Hoveround” in and not jump.

Republican economic policy was always very appealing to me and so I joined. After a cple of years I became more active in my states Republican party. However, when I found out how much the KKK influences the decsions of the party I had to change parties and am now an independant. I'm going to vote for Ron Paul.

looks like today, ... very anti-climatic

"Fred Dalton Thompson will tell his supporters that he is running for president today in a 4 p.m. conference call with 800 to 1,000 elected and party officials from around the country, a source close to the campaign said today."

Future News Update: 9/30/07
Thompson drops out of the race, could not raise funds, voters forgot he was running.

I wouldn't vote for him, but I expect Thompson to do very well once he gets in the race. He has that old Ronald Reagan magic: he's too dumb to understand the issues but his down-home, common sense rhetoric will persuade many voters. Business will support him with mega-bucks after he does well in a debate, sensing another windfall of tax cuts and deregulation from another practicioner of voodoo economics. Fundamentalists, deeply disappointed in Bush, will start singing "Shall We Gather at the River" as their preachers thunder in their support for him. Thompson's wife, what's-her-name, will play the Nancy Reagan role, guiding her sweetheart with her on version of tarot cards and tea leaves.

It will be morning in America all over again.

It's the reincarnation of "Ronnie" and Republicans everyone are rejoicing because he's decided to enter the race! Especially Republicans in South Carolina are happy. Help us all if this clown is elected.

In other news, who cares about Fred Thompson...? I mean really, this guy isn't even a good actor, let alone a good leader... Honestly though, if he wants in, and still decides to skip the New Hampshire debate, he's making a ridiculously dumb decision. I'd bet the voters of New Hampshire will remember that one...

Well, it's about time. He's got a lawsuit coming over his little "Testing the Waters" scheme. What he has done up to this point has been nothing but deceptive, cowardly, and against election rules. He avoids debates because he'll get destroyed. He avoids "formally" announcing because he wants to raise his funds in secret (even though its pretty obvious they're not "testing the waters" funds). He's going through staff almost as fast as McCain. How ANYONE could take Fred Thompson seriously, i'll never know.

Thompson is become increasingly irrelevant. He can't even manage his campaign - why would anyone believe he'd make a good President?

I used to like him, but I've since switched to Mitt.
