DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Two men were married outside a minister's home in the state's first legal same-sex wedding Friday morning, less than 24 hours after a judge threw out Iowa's ban on gay marriage and about two hours before the same judge put his ruling on hold.

It was a narrow window of opportunity.

About 20 gay couples had applied for marriage licenses by 11 a.m. when the Polk County Recorder announced that she had been instructed to stop accepting the applications.

Now I have some points to make and you can hammer me or not but:

I am tired of hearing that it is just right-wing, bible thumping, zealots that oppose same sex marriage.

That is BS, 45 or so other states ban same sex marriage when the people were allowed to vote, all red states, only Republican residents? Don't think so.

The votes were not even CLOSE, unlike the supposed electorate that is about 50-50.

Secondly, most of your beloved Democratic candidates OPPOSE this as well, are they haters and bigots as well or does that only apply to Republicans?

I am in the majority of most Americans that oppose same sex marriage, but would FIGHT for civil unions with all attached rights involved, ALL.

This is just about rights isn't it?

I am no bible thumper (whatever), but I do believe that marriage is simply the domain of ONE man and ONE woman.

Vent you anger towards the MSM that only shows the crazies at any of the gay pride gatherings or the studios that portray gays in the same over the top or needy light with every character written for TV and movies.

I know gay people that are doctors, lawyers, construction workers etc, etc, you know REGULAR PEOPLE who happen to be gay.

We never see them shown that way by yes people, the LIBERAL entertainment and LIBERAL MEDIA establishment.

Some people only see gays in these circumstances and that may lead to negative thoughts.

Doesn't help the cause when idiots like Craig are running around looking for man on man action in airports.

How does that look to most Americans, that by tapping your foot in an airport or a bath-house you are looking for open, lewd gay sex????

That is part of the "lifestyle" they wonder?

It is so easy to blame one group for all that is wrong in the world, but it is flat out BS.
