BOISE, Idaho (CNN) — A Republican source in Idaho tells CNN's Dana Bash that Senator Larry Craig will announce his resignation at Saturday’s news conference, and the resignation will be effective September 30.

I almost hope he doesn't resign. His non-stop blundering and ever-changing story about the events have been very entertaining. I laughed. I cried. I bought the big popcorn…..

I didn't realize he had pleaded guilty four weeks after the interrogation by the under cover cop.

That kind of dampened my compassion. I don't know what possible explanation there could be for that?
