Karl Rove waved to staffers as he left the White House on Friday, his last day on President Bush's staff

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Karl Rove was nearly overcome with emotion Friday as colleagues privately paid tribute to the political adviser as he leaves the White House, senior officials say.

At the closed-door senior staff meeting at 7:30 a.m. in the Roosevelt Room, Rove was surprised with a slide show of photos chronicling his nearly seven years at President Bush's side, through good times and bad.

White House Press Secretary Tony Snow told CNN that Rove was so touched by the tribute that he didn't have any final words for his colleagues. "He was pretty choked up," Snow said.

"He was pretty choked up," Snow said.

Rove must have decided to opt for a Movie contract versus a Book and he's practicing on the White House Senior Officals. Maybe it's a wise choice, apparently they all fell for his "choked up" rendition. Kind of explains why the WMD's are still at large. :-)

Knowing Rove's MO he probably put the shrink wrap and post-its on his car himself and blamed it on some poor slob who had nothing to do with it.Didn't work for foreign policy either.

I can't imagine Rove choking up, he his ruthless in every sense. If he did I am glad for he has gagged me for several years with his self righteous, militant, uncaring, selfish, person that he is…I hope they did not let the door hit him in his tender behind.

I am reminded of a very old children's TV show, Andy's Gang (earlier Smilin' Ed's Gang). On that show there was a nemesis named 'Froggy the Gremlin'. Rove was the 'Froggy the Gremlin' of the Smerkin' W show. Good riddance to a cheat and a liar.

Mitch of Detroit MI thanks Karl Rove for his “kindness, compassion, eloquence, and endless devotion to making sure peace and equality reaches each and every American.”

According to the book "Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove Made George W. Bush Presidential", Rove was behind the South Carolina push-poll that called voters and asked, "Would you be more likely or less likely to vote for John McCain for president if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?"

Is that your idea of kindness, compassion and eloquence, Mitch?

Thanks for the memories, Karl. I really enjoyed watching you make the left squirm on a daily basis.

Karl Rove, The Nerd Who Became GOD……..only in the party of manipulating the ignorant could this even be possible!

Keith Guice Franklin, Tn   September 2nd, 2007 7:44 pm ET

Rove…choked????? or choked up????….which is more believable??

Karl, may your days be filled with the same distasteful things you poured on America these last several years. May you have no future left to do more wrong. You are one of sleasiest bach-stabbers known to man.

Mat the media watch your every step…just in case you pop up in someone's campaign again.

Just go away and stay away…..maybe you and Tom Delay can sit back in Texas and daydream about how much damage that you did to this country.
