Cindy McCain did not let a recent knee injury stop her on Tuesday.

CONCORD, New Hampshire (CNN) — Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, is walking with the aid of crutches after she twisted her knee two weeks ago.

Mrs. McCain slowly walked into the auditorium of Concord High School Tuesday to introduce her husband and told students she tore the ligaments in her right knee when she turned her body the wrong way while on a trip to the grocery store. With a laugh she referred to the incident as very "glamorous." She told CNN later that she will need surgery but is hoping to "hang on" through the primary season. McCain says she had the knee replaced several years ago.

There are some nasty people in this world and it seems that most of them are left-wingers.

This article is in poor taste.

Why don't these two old fools just go home!

Enough is enough all ready!

Get well soon Mrs. McCain. While I am a loyal Obama supporter, I don't think it's right for people to bash you and your injured knee. In addition, I appreciate your husbands service to this country. Why do political campaigns bring out the most hostile of traits in people?

Pat, Huntington, NY   September 4th, 2007 3:37 pm ET

Its an analogy to the state of this country which is almost literally being held up by crutches.

McCain is too old to be president.

Joe, Florida   September 4th, 2007 3:17 pm ET

Great, I can imagine it!

A stiff and old president with a first lady on crutches. They are old and falling apart. That would surely give the United States a fresh look in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of Americans.

I wonder when we will pull out.

Did she really 'twist' her knee, or did Johnny McCain blow up in light of his terrible, unsuccessful campaign and bash her knees in? One must wonder. The guy is a short-fused lunatic.

Maybe she got hit by one of the wheels that was falling off hubby's Straight Talk Express.

Perhaps Bush was having one of his goons torture John's wife. He never had a problem attacking John in the election years ago.

What a coincidence ! The same thing happened to Larry Craig with his ankle in some airport washroom.
