I would just like to point out how racist Jesse Jackson is saying someone is "acting white". As a "white person" I find it insulting to stereotype someone to get on the news. Shame on Jesse Jackson. Why we give this adulter who already insulted Japanese people with his earlier statements news coverage I will never know.

I want you to look at venturacountystar.com and go to Oxnard and there is a story of a Black Man named Allen. He was bruttaly beaten by the PHPD for no reason, he was singled out by 2 officers who where harrassing him as he was walking into his home, the police then ordered him to go to his vehicle to get his drivers lisence, when he reached into the car to get his liscence two other cops arrived at the scene and began brutally beating him, the other two cops that where there first ran and joined the beating. All of this was done infront of witnesses and his very own MOTHER. The officers and sargent stated that the reason they stopped him was because his registration was expired. His whole family went down to the station with the witnesses and told the sargent what the officers had done. He questioned his officers on why they confronted Mr. Allen, in the first place, and they stated "the tags where bad on the car". The family told the sargent that this was not true and they could even call the tow yard where they towed his vehicle on the grounds of expired registration. So the sargent called the tow yard, the employees there gave the sargent the bad news that he did not want to hear. The tags where just renewed a month ago for an entire year. The officer ordered the tow yard to release the car to a family member and that they where on there way to come get it and there would be no fees charged for this at all. The sargent then stated to the family members that he had nothing else to say to them in the defense of his officers. Mr. Allen is a great guy. He went to school for many years for occupational tharapy. He is now lisenced and certified. I am just torn by the comments people have made from just reading the story in the paper. This is a recial profile case. He is not in a gang and hasnt ever been. Since then he has had an attorney, they've gone to court and the DA dropped the case. On top of that his injuries have been treated throughout the year. He has been going to appointment after appointment. Mr. Allen was a true victim of racial profile, harrassement, and police brutality. He has been fighting this for a while, little do people know. A case againts the police isnt solved over night when they are doing everything in there power to sweep what happened under the rug. And the sargent also stated that he didn't know about the case which is not true, because he issued the car back to the family, when he found out about the tags being good. I really wanted you to know about this issue. It is just unbeleivable, and breaks my heart to know that police brutality is in my own backyard, and racial profiling. Put your self in his mothers shoes. How would you like to sit and be forced to watch your son be beaten by four police officers and you cant do anything to deffend him?

As an African American man, Mr. Jackson offends me on many different levels. Yes sir Mr. Jackson..I am sure you would have "been all over Jena". You are everywhere a camera is. You are an icon in your own mind. You have never been a part of a single piece of legislation in this country. You have never held an office. You are a "reverend" that has never had a church. It is sad that when an educated, humble, energetic, african american "difference maker" steps into the lime light..the "good Dr. Reverend" feels the need to express his inadequacies and jealousy in his 2007 version of "I have a dream". I shouldnt have to tell a "foremost expert on racial equality" this...but black is something you are, not something you "try to achieve". Stop kicking your leg out to "trip up" a man who has fought the same struggles that you claim to fight. Maybe if Mr. Obama got on a private helicopter to the Hugo Chavez compound for Mojitos...he would be "black enough"...?

Man, if this is true, it almost makes me lose all respect for Rev. Jackson. That's as racist a comment as the one Imus made. Being a young black male who knows how to write and speak proper English, and who's grown up in the South, i've had people do subtle things like ask me where i'm from, then react with surprise when I tell them this is my hometown. (Monroe, La.) I've even had MANAGERS I work with come out and accuse me of "acting white". I don't have to justify my blackness to them or anyone else, and neither should Obama. To say that someone is acting 'white' is just slave mentality; it implies that because a person carries themselves with some dignity and class, it means they can't be black. (Which means one of our supposed prominent black leaders is implying black people don't have class and dignity.) Since when did European-Americans get a monopoly on dignity?

They do not care about bettering the black community, because if the black community improved itself to app. equal levels of education, income, etc.. with whites the need for people like Jackson and Sharpton erases. The only clever political strategy I see is how Jackson is taking a bullet to get Obama the nomination. Black Democrats are going to rally around him anyways, and so many of them are offended by the good Rev’rins statement that they are fully in his camp. For White Democrats who held a deeply shameful, subconscious worry about supporting a man who is only half-white, this bold attack is going to completely separate Obama from the radical black demographic enough that they can overlook their previous anxieties and go ahead and vote for Obama.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the biggest racists I have ever seen or heard in my life. They are a true embarrassment to the black race and to the USA.

The “Jena 6” had no right to beat that student almost to death – regardless of their race. Yes this is a hate crime too, however it will not be charged as that. It is called a double standard.

What because the black kids got caught committing a violent crime they should be let go because they are black – that is what Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are saying to the whole world. Their actions are inexcusable, disgusting and outrageous. The bad part of all of this is the kid was severely beaten almost to death, he and his family will be victimized again because of Al Sharpton – I hope his parents will sue for a hate crime against him and Jesse. This has got to stop. Talk about double racist standard in this country.

Apparently, Al and Jesse have no moral regard for the law, that it is OK that black people can commit violent hate crimes against someone that is NOT their color and not be punished for it? This is absurd.

If Al and Jesse think the USA is so bad, there are plenty of other countries they can choose from to go live in! One day both Al and Jesse will rightly get what they so just deserve, maybe not tomorrow or next week but one day.

How about the District Atty calling an assembly for noone but the BLACK kids and telling them "I can take away your life with the movement of my pen...." Its AMAZING that no one mentions that the "deadly" weapon used to "beat the white kid" was a tennis shoe. Now white america, I think the issue of race is overstated as well and overly used and Jackson and Sharpton have made a career from race baiting, but you are KIDDING yourselves if you all are going to pretend as though racism doesn't exist. Why is everyone assuming that African Americans are going to vote for either Obama or Clinton. Their are some that would rather stand with the stronger of the two parties and vote republican, seeing how they are the more christian friendly party and on the whole, religion is a bigger part of most black Americans lives than white Americans. While I do not agree with Jesse Jackson's statement, I am not moved to say that the case in Jenna is simply "degenerates getting what they deserve". We are talking about the heart of the South. People in urban areas especially in the Northern states deal with a great deal less amount of racism then those in smaller rural areas both up here and down south. I would never hear of a white person commenting on racism or the plight or struggles of black people because you have not nor will you ever know what it means to be black. Racism is so subtle I myself have to catch my own prejudices. We are programmed with out even knowing it. Jesse's comment was ignorant, extremely ignorant. But I am sure in acting white he meant an impartiality to what is happening to these boys. Obama, however, is a man of African and white decent. He may be African American in the most literal sense of the term, but as far as experiences go, he may fall on other end of the spectrum. This doesn't make him more or less qualified to run this country. It just makes him someone that will do what is best for the country and not necessarily what is best for blacks. However, I believe that what is best for the African Americans has to start in our communities and work its way outward.

Jesse Jackson has had decades to bring about racial reconciliation in America, but failed, as this latest incident proves. While I understand his frustration, he should leave the fight to a new generation that might actually make a difference, where he could not.

Jesse Jackson has been out of the spoltlight for quite a some time, there he is again doing exactly what gave the name recognition which advocating racism. His return is no surprise to me neither the path he has chosen.

It is so unfortunate that some people who may be educated, so hard working and with big recognition like Jesse can become so self destructive. I have a lot respect for Jesse. But Helas! That man keeps destroying himself at the speed of light. That is a disgrace.

Is he being jaleous or plain lost in the middle of his destructive racial rethorics? We are more than two decades from the 60's and Jesse is more than two decades away from reality. When will we be safe from those one-sided civil right leaders? That's a shame.

Who ever defined civil right as a BLACK issue to Jesse? What Happens to education, health, safety, employment and every else about the pursuit of happiness as decribed in the constitution? I think we can forgive Jesse. He has just lost touch with reality.

By the way why personally calling on Barack Obama to make that thing a national issue? Is Jesse retiring? I think that is his job as a self-proclaimed civil right leader. That man just TV. Why doesn't he just buy airtime on one of those big channels out there.

Well, I am not promoting but I think that Obama is smart enough to do get himself involved in any stupid racial mess. In the meantime, Jesse Jackson and Al with all due respect, they need to stop destroying themselves. As reverend, they need to talk love, forgiveness, justive, equality.
