Watch Trump sound off on politics with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Donald Trump has some advice for President Bush if he wants a Republican to win the White House: Hide.

The business mogul and vocal critic of the Bush administration told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Monday that he thinks the president is a "huge liability" for any Republican seeking the White House. Trump went on to say the best thing Bush can do for his party is to go into "hiding."

"I think President Bush has to go into a corner and hide if a Republican is going to get elected," he said. "There is no way he is an asset. He is a huge liability, and he is going to have to do a big, big hiding act if a Republican is going to win."

Once a Republican nominee is determined, Trump added, Bush "should just go into a corner and say 'Okay, that's it. I am finished. It's over.'"

Trump also reiterated his comments to CNN in March that Bush is "probably" the worst president in American history, saying, "We've gone from this tremendous power that was respected all over the world to somewhat of a laughing stock."

More people are out of work than I have ever seen in my Lifetime – You cannot go by the so-called unemployment rate , because once an individual has maxed out on unemployment benefits the individual just becomes an un-known statistic.

Companies- WoW -this is Huge. Just in the small counties I live in , more than 40 – Large well know companies have called it quits under the bush Administration. Companies that have thrived ever since I was just a small boy.
Last time it was this bad was under the last Bush Administration.

It is beyond comprehension that anyone in their wildest dreams would fantasize that Bill Clinton or any other person, Republican or Democratic, would have done nothing about 9/11. Bush did the same thing that any other person, even you or me, would have done. He made speeches about how we would bring the person who caused this to justice (still not true after six years) and rallied the support of other nations (which has largely disintegrated due to his incompetence). Name anything that he did that you would not have done if you were president on 9/11, except, of course, for reading "The Pet Goat" while hundreds died in our cities.

Remind me what "The Donald" has done to protect the country, especially back during the Vietnam War era when the pressure of the draft forced most of us red-blooded American males into the armed forces (I, myself, ended up serving in Vietnam and retiring from the Air Force). President Bush, who Trump and other worthless "opinion makers" belittle for his military service and also leadership of our military, should know that Bush graduated from Basic Military Training School as an Honor Graduate in 1968, before getting his commission as an officer in the Texas Air National Guard and going to pilot training, already an achievement few people (including big-mouth Trump) in this country can claim. Bush flew the F-102 Fighter-Interceptor, the sole mission of which was to shoot down Soviet bombers which would be heading toward the U.S. mainland in a nuclear attack. His type unit was never deployed to the Vietnam theater, so he could not have gone there if he had wanted to without leaving his unit and re-training in another aircraft of some type. By the way, brave Donald, it was dangerous, by its nature, to fly any military aircraft, particularly fighter jets, but the F-102 had a worse than normal accident record, as I recall from my tour in the command (Air Defense Command) that controlled them. I happen to be proud of my president and wish Trump would be the one to go into hiding. Please Donald, do us that big favor.

I would like to say this. I was a Marine as well and severed with the %th Marines out of Camp Pendelton. I have read many that have either been Marines or they are currently. I don't have any clue where you went to boot camp but the must have forgotten to teach you Honor and Respect. On for your Country and secound for your President. As a Marine you do not have the liberty to question. Not the President nor your recruiter twisted your arm to serve this Great Country. You did that yourself and should have left out of any comment you had to say here that you served for such a Service as the Marines. I stood toe to toe with some of the finest men and of them all not many were happy to be over there but they were damn proud to serve and did it with out crying about it. I am ashamed to have any Military man here speak out about it when of all people you should know that the men you served with, and did not come home, you are a disgrace to them.

Second… Someone said the Iraqies are worse off now then they were then. I would like to know where you got your information from. I served both in the First Desert Storm and I have served in this War. During the first one in 1990 for those of you commenting that were two young to know what year it was. There were towns that did not have electricity at all much less have water. the only ones that did were Saddams people and they were lucky to have it. Today after about 4 yrs of working by the many Americans over there trying to make it a better place than it WAS. Those towns now have utilities. Both electric and water. Yes you are correct they have it sparingly and that is to make sure that all are able to have some and not just one or two town having it all. I bet they like having what they got.

As for the number that was lost during 911. We have not passed the number lost on that day in over 4ys of fighting in Iraq. You are mistaken and it goes to show that you do not check your stat's. Alone in the Towers we lost a little over 2900, and on the planes another 400 and then you have the Pentagon. that is in one day. You do the math. We will have to be there a lot longer than 4yrs to get to that average and if that day ever comes it will require you TRUMP lovers to quite your crying over the fact that the Iraqies have to pay 9 cents per gallon of gas V 4 cents per gallon, and pick up a fight to defend the very country that you spit on. I hope that the brave men and women and their families are the only ones that have to bare that burden.

I'm totally convinced the future of this country is hopelessly doomed, judging from the ignorance and lack of attention to so many ills brought on by the moron-neocons who seized control of our well being and have:

- swelled our national debt to a level
where our childrens' grandchildren will have yet to climb out of

- exported our work, because 8 digit exec salaries were no longer good enough for anyone

- initiated a pre-emptive and pre-meditated (as in PNAC) war that continues to deplete our resources,as well as our sanity (our foreign policy
is entirely driven by Israel)

- swelled our trade deficit to the point it's a challenge to keep track of…just wait until our credits no
longer any good, as we have no real
manufacturing base of our own left..suppose we'll all just return to self-suffiency

- continue to shower tax breaks on the
ultra-wealthy…don't you know hedge fund moguls only pay 15%, while those who are wiping up cr*p in nursing homes, are paying full rate?

- would rather continue to squander recources to ensure big oil profits, instead of investing in and accelerating work on alternative technologies that will maintain the inhabitability of the planet

- total absence of any intelligent future planning in terms of how future
economies will work within the confines of shrinking resources, over-population, environmental damage etc etc.

And to put the tin lid on it, I see names like Fred Thompson thrown about
within what appears to be serious discussion….all a laughing stock indeed !!

Yes Bush is responsible. He sent 3,800 soldiers to die, not looking for bin Laden, but into a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. If other nations disliked us for bashing our president, then how do you explain that Clinton was terribly bashed here and yet is considered a very popular, beloved and respected statesman in those countries?

Bill Clinton tried to kill bin Laden. George Bush had already been in office for 8 months when 9/11 happened on his shift. George Tenet testified to Congress later that he hadn't been in touch with Bush for the month before 9/11 because Bush was already on vacation in Texas. Bush had shots at bin Laden at Bora Bora and didn't do it and Rumsfeld later canceled another mission already in flight to kill bin Laden. Five months after 9/11 Bush said "I repeat, I am not that concerned about bin Laden". He later falsely claimed he didn't say it.

We complain about Bush because of what he has done to our great country. We love our soldiers and want them safe instead of in a civil war. Our military estimates that 90% of the deaths in Iraq are due to civil strife and not the war on terrorism.

Those who support the war should be willing to sacrifice economically like has always happened before. Passing all our debt onto future generations is immoral.

We complain about Iraq as we drive in our foreign oil dependency increasing gas-guzzlers. We blame others for the problems we help exacerbate.

Bin Laden stated, "You steal our wealth and oil at paltry prices because of your international influence and military threats. This theft is indeed the biggest theft ever witnessed by mankind in the history of the world."

Ironically, one of the biggest increases in U.S. foreign oil dependency occurred during the Clinton/Gore Administration. Additionally, greenhouse gas emissions went up a quarter during that same period.

That would make the Clinton / Gore years one of the worse environmental Presidencies ever. One of the worst increases in blood for oil.

Isn't that an Inconvenient Truth?

Ultimately, both Democrats and Republicans have, for decades, been bought by oil – as have MOST Americans. Also, lest we forget, it was a Democrat that created our contract with Saudi Arabia, not a Republican.

Point a finger at Bush, America, but there are three fingers pointing back at YOU.

Inevitably, it's not all Bush's fault. It was also Bill's fault. Jimmy's fault. Ronald's fault and on and on.

Most important, it was YOUR fault. MY fault. OUR fault.

We need to stop blaming Bush and start taking responsibility for our lives. When it comes to oil and foreign oil dependency, most of us live in glass houses.

We, the people, need to declare war on foreign oil dependency now. We need to make better decisions as consumers. We need to make revolutionary changes – all of us.

This is OUR country. If WE don't act, it won't really matter who becomes the next President.

It's a waste of time to argue about the intelligence of voters by classifying states as blue or red. When the "color" of a state can be determined by as few as several hundred votes, we are making much too broad assumptions.

After Bush's 2000 victory in the electoral college, a map was circulated that showed the country by red and blue counties. Assumably it was accurate and assumably it was created by Bush supporters. It showed that the nation was extremely red in color. While Bush supporters no doubt viewed this as a very positive thing, they overlooked what else it pointed out. Since Al Gore defeated George Bush by over one-half million votes, the map actually shows that Gore must have done extremely well in urban areas and Bush did good in rural areas. So this debate may turn into a question of rural voters versus urban voters.

I am a Republican from perhaps the bluest state in the union, and I travel all over the eastern region of this country, north and south. If anyone from a blue state thinks that they are generally intellectually superior to our friends in the south, they really need to do a little traveling. As for Republican chances in 2008, I think the GOP has at least 4 or 5 superior choices. The Democrats have a truely lackluster field of candidates, all cowtowing to party extremists. It's going to be extremely tough getting back to the middle. Abd really, how powerful can your lineup of candidates be if they cannot face questioning from the Fox News Network? (Which hosted to only meaningful debate so far.) How can they face down our enemies if Brit Hume is too much for them. I'd put my money on Rudy, Fred, Mitt, or McCain over Hillary, Barack, or Edwards in the 2008 Election. Dems are getting lulled into a sense of false security by listening to the mainstream media that they control. I can just see the tears, the hysterics, and the handwringing of the Democrats on the day after the 2008 Election. Experts say that Iraqis have little interest in uniting as shown by their leaders recent month-long vacations. We have lost more lives there than in 9-11 and generated the eventual SEVEN largest deficits in our nation's history. And Bush has made good decisions and this is just a communication problem? No one likes us why? We are not letting others get away with the same old you know what like they did before this admin. Maybe Don realizes that being in w/ Hollyweird requires this rhetoric. Business people overseas cannot understand how the citizens of our country could have been foolish enough to let ourselves be led about like cattle, permitted the relinquishment of our civil freedoms and anonymity, and drive ourselves into insurmountable national debt fighting wars for others while our country is riddled with crime, poverty, and crumbling infrastructure. I doubt my post will make it. We'll see. During the Clinton years there was an agency called "The United States Information Agency." It ended Jan 2001.

They had an "Office of Research and Media Reaction". On August the 10th 1998 they posted worldwide reactions to the bombings of our Embassies in Africa.

Read the different reactions to what happened, and what they thought should be done. (Amazing stuff!)

Some didn't even like us! (Hmmmm, so it wasn't just Pres. Bush after all!)

This was PRE- President Bush after all!

The common theme was that something had to be done about Terrorism. Muslim fundamentalists, radical Islam.

If that is the case why is it that the Canadians, French, and Germans elected pro-Bush, pro-American leaders and turned away from anti-Bush, anti-American candidates? And why would a respected world business leader like Jack Welch, retired from GE, state that under this administration's leadership the economy has been nothing less than phenomenal – especially in light of 9/11, Katrina, the Iraq war – that we have created over 10 million jobs since Bush took office, while Europe has created less than 200,000 and Japan less than 2 million? When it comes to evaluating healthy business progress and environments, I think I would go with the opinion of Jack Welch over Donald Trump any day. As well, there is no telling where this world would be if Bush was not making a stand against the radical Islamics that want to rule the world – and that is not an opinion – that is their stated goal – just read their websites.

As an American living in the Middle East for the past 10 years I have seen the the dramatic shift in opinion of our government from 9/11 to where we are today. Third, Trump is an idiot. A few years ago, CNN and all the other extreme leftists were bemoaning the fact that European countries were veering left and that Bush was alone in the Western world as a conservative. Mr. Trump is absolutely wrong that Bush will go down as the absolute worst president of the US. He is making an emotional judgement based on his world view (which is New York City). If he actually stops to think about it, what country right now doubts the US will do what it takes to stop terrorism? Iran? Syria? Why did Libya give up it's chemical and biological weapons? Why did Syria leave Lebanon? Why is Abu Sayyaf being crushed in the Philippines? Why does cooperation between the French, German, and the US intelligence agencies remain extremely strong? Because Bush was right. He made some mistakes budget wise in my opinion and does not appear to be taking the Chinese spy rings seriously but on terrorism, he has been correct. Thirty years from now, history will have a more favorable view of Bush.

As long as the Dems and other liberals don't get ahold of all the text books and remove all record of Jimmy Carter (21% interest rate, 13% inflation, 9% unemployment, high taxes, and, of course, abandoning the Shah of Iran, leading to the Mullahs, the 444-day Iranian hostage crisis, and ultimately Mahmoud I'm-a-nut-job at Columbia University), NOBODY can come close to Carter as "worst president ever". In fact, even if you hate Bush, you can't rate him below Carter, Nixon, or Johnson (just to mention those in my lifetime, which goes back to Truman, never mind "in history").

But with record high GDP, record high employment, record high tax revenues, record high Dow Jones and S&P and a strong response to terrorism (unlike that of Mr. Clinton), and virtually none of which is given any positive coverage by the MSM, it is really hard to put Bush down even that low. At the top are Reagan and Truman, and possibly Eisenhower, and my bet is that in 20 years level-headed analysis will put him at least on a par with Truman. He is clearly above Bush 41 and Clinton, and Kennedy was not around long enough to get properly rated (although he probably would have been 3rd or 4th). Ford doesn't count.

One thing Carter did, though, was play tough with the Soviets after they invaded Afghanistan. He told them "Forget the Summer Olympics, we are not coming over to your house to play, so there, nyah-nyah-nyah". Fortunately, he did not boycott the Winter Olympics, or we would have been screwed out of the Miracle on Ice in Lake Placid.

While I agree with Donald, I don't need him to tell me that Bush is an idiot and has single handedly destroyed this country…but I'm glad he's saying it because at least people are hearing it because of his fame. More chance that more people will hear him than me. Because I'm a little people, and nobody listens to the little people. You keep on speaking Donald.

As for all the rest of those out there who are in denial that Bush has wrecked this country, is the worst president to ever steal an election and IS the MOST hated man in America today, you guys need to wake up and get your heads out of the sand and try and do something before your arses get obliterated by the disaster that we face just around the corner. Most States have lost the battle to prepare our

You can go to Iran and Cuba and get better health and dental care.

Had Bush spent as much money on America as he has on his War on Terrorism, we would definitely be a stronger country. He dropped the ball on Bin Laden.

What is true is he thrives on fear, that is his ticket to fame and fortune.

When the 75 years are up on the Information of Freedom Act, when we can finally examine the papers of this adminstration. The poorly excuted details to resolve the critical issues will have taken a back seat to
his greed.
On that day, We will be judged. That is when we will all know the truth.

And I will bet that it will make Richard Nixon look like Tinker Bell in comparison.

As for Cheney, he is more frightening then Bush.
And, should be investigated for his involvement with the Contracts currently in place in Iraq.

And that is why America's image around the world is what it is today. The world is aware that oil is the only reason America is in Iraq. And that really doesn't portray a Nation of Compassion and Good Will towards men.

As for the economy, it's not doing badly at all – Clinton was lucky, his economy was a false economy, the result of the dot com revolution which, of course, turned out to be a mirage. For once, I can agree with Mr. Trump on something. He's exact in his observations. Bush is a liability to his party.

The sad thing is rather than people rationalizing why Trump is wrong, those in opposition choose to mudsling in their comments. It really describes the mentality of "mainstream" America. No wonder they elected Bush in the first place. You don't your head from your .. well fill in that blank and you go "baa baa!"

On criticizing CNN.com, while CNN is not perfect it is less sensational that Fox News, which is a Republican, Christian-Biased, Propaganda, Organ Grinding Cesspool, and a despicable excuse of a journalistic agency.

I am not saying we will be better off with a Democrat (as I don't vote for political parties) but a change is in order and Republicans should be kicked out the door right now.

This election should not be treated like a football game or a democrat versus republican battle. We have serious issues at stake. Unfortunately, neither the Democrats or Republicans running for office are interested in leading . . . they are solely interested in the title. I challenge each of you to start pressuring the nominees in both parties to focus on the important issues and figuring them out without blowing the national budget.

As a Canadian Citizen and resident, I watch the US news quite often.

I think Mr. Trump's statements were too harsh but I feel there is some truth to it. Before Mr. Bush became president, the economy in the US was very strong. I don't believe it is the same now. I fully understand that that after 9/11, he had to "kick butt" in Aphganistan. No one can disagree with that. But Iraq could have waited. The costs of that war should have been used to get Bin Laden. I am sure the costs would have been less and probably less problems in Iraq.

Companies that moved their operations out of your country and US Citizens lost their jobs, that can't be right.
Something should have been done about that.

However, I think after the next election, the US will become much stronger especially economically. I wish you the best.

Donald Trump's opinion is news worthy because he happens to be very good friends, very rich, and probably a campaign contributor to Rudy Giuliani. Whether you like him or not, he has a large fan base and by reporting his opinion, he can definitely sway public opinion and therefore the vote. Besides the Donald isn't saying anything that ALL political analysts haven't been saying for months. It makes no difference whether you are a Bush supporter or not, it all comes down to numbers and Bush's popularity is in the toilet. My only hope is that Bush's replacement is a candidate that has military experience. I really do believe that to get us out of this mess in the safest way possible, the new president needs to have experience in this area. We need our men to come home safely and I hope conditions improve in Iraq… no one should have to live like that.

Just because the comment came from a very public figure (whether you like him or not) doesn't make it any less relevant that those who opine here or anywhere else. He is a business man who has enjoyed measurable success and understands economics and politics. He isn't saying anything that many "unknown" or less public Americans aren't saying or thinking or discussing amongst themselves. Bush, on some level, is a bit of a liability to the Republican party, and they all know it….whether they choose to agree with it or not. None of the candidates are running on the coat-tails of the Dub-ya legacy. All it takes is some pretty lipstick to get any 500 lb gorilla elected to the Presidency. After all, it's not the president in control. It's the zookeepers behind the scenes keeping the President in check and trained. Most of all, they make sure to clean the the Pres' cage. Otherwise, the gorilla is likely to throw certain unsanitary objects at passers by.

as hard as it is for me to admit it, Donald Trump is right on the money here. The question is, what Republican can win the White House? The lead candidate has alientated the very conservatives at that are the core of the party. I'm afraid that the next president will be another Clinton. And the one after that, 8 years later, could be too (Chelsea) if the Republicans don't get their act together very soon.
