Why in NH are you only taking a poll of republican voters instead of an equal number of indepedent and republican.

If you dont do this then this poll is meaningless.

Try contacting 324 indepedents that will vote for republican now and see what you get for their mix.

If I look at a candidate I like, I think "does he or she possess MOST of the qualities I want in a leader?" I think if you can answer that 75 per cent or more of what a candidate has is what you want – then that' s who you should vote for.

We each have our deal-breakers – Iraq, abortion, taxes, illegal immigration and so on . I will decide which are my top three and vote accordingly because, like a spouse, no one can be 100 per cent perfect and in sync with you .

There is nothing NUTJOBish about following the constitution. There is nothing NUTJOBish about eliminating the countless government agencies that have no legitimacy under the constitution.

Just because you grew up in a world where illegitimate agencies are commonplace, does not make the elimination of those agencies a NUTJOB idea.

The "NUTJOB" factor has nothing to do with status quo or popular opinion. It has to do with cold, hard, real, facts that exist independently -and stand on their own merit- regardless of whether they are popularly embraced.

RON PAUL is the only chance the GOP has to win the 08 general election.

If RUDY or ROMNEY or any other GOP contenders get the nomination, then the DEMOCRATS will win in 08.

It's important to look at who's gaining and who's losing.

LOSING
Romney peaked in July at 33% and now fell to 23%.
Thompson peaked in July at 13% and now fell to 12%.
All other 'second tier' candidates, except Ron Paul, have flattened out or fallen.

GAINING
Giuliani moved up from 18% to 22%.
McCain moved up from 12% to 17%.
Gingrich moved up from 3% to 7%.
Ron Paul moved up from 2% to 4%.

From a statistical point of view, with a 5.5% margin of error (which works both ways for each number), the actual poll results show a THREE-way race now. McCain's 18% is close enough to the "front-runners" 24% and 25% that it is only fair that CNN report that any one of the three could actually be in the lead at this point.

It's funny how you can have a 14 point lead when only about 300 people participated in the poll.

Polls are tailored to the maker. They don't use cell phones so all you have are the old farts participating if it's an honest cold calling program.

Tom,Dedham,someone posted that his platform was on his website so I went to check his "pander" factor and clicked on "culture and values"and found that he was pandering to theocratic religious people.I and many others find that promoting theocratic ideals boils down to bigotry against people of other faiths and no faith at all.As an atheist,I'm particularly sensitive to that type of bigotry.I believe all people deserve equal treatment under the law,regardless of whether or not they practice.While I don't practice,I'm a staunch supporter of other's rights to do so.I like Rudy for how he ran NYC,and would consider him to be the best of the republicans to govern without prejudice.Btw ,thank you for discussing the ID issue with me,I heard tonight that Eliot Spitzer,my governor has revoked the requirement of a ss card to get a license and returned to me my citizenship.I hope in the next day or two to not face arrest and prosecution for lack of ID that I couldn't get.Again' discussion of issues is the best resolution to conflict.Your participation is appreciated.

Let the American people decide whether he will or will not be nominated. These are the same people that elected Bush two terms in a row, reasoning and practicality is inherently absent in these decisions.
Perhaps Ron Paul's ideas are more closely aligned to the average american than any other candidates. Electing Ron Paul might be a risk, but anti-war policies sound a lot better than what the other candidates are proposing.

First of all, take it from one who knows in NH...

These polls are conducted by the college, and they asked 324 people. You cannot base a whole election on 324 people. Often times they do not even ASK about some of the candidates and only include who THEY want to include.

In 1996 these so-called 'polls' had Patrick Buchanan at 6% and he cleaned Dole's clock with 27%.

They have Ron Paul at 4% which does not include the Libertarians, Democrats and most Indies who will be voting for him. Why even at the last LUNTZ focus group, out of 29 hard core GOPers there, we had 10%

So these polls are bogus.
I can't wait for Newt, another phony Republican to enter the race...

Mitt, Rudy, Fred, John, and Newt - are not real Republicans, never have and never will be.
Rudy is corrupt, Mitt's a lightweight and McCain is just plain nuts. Fred is either stupid (said he did not know about NAU) or a liar. You choose which.

I think those that automatically declare Ron Paul unelectable will be in for a surprise come election time. These "polls" are taken over land-line phones – something that much of the younger generation has given up. They provide a skewed result.

The GOP is in a bad position right now that will likely lead into a Democrat victory in the white house...especially if they nominate another Bush-loving pro-war Neo-conservative (Rudy, Romney, McCain...)

I am really against Clinton taking over the White House, and our only chance is to nominate someone who will bring about REAL change and a TRUE conservative – Ron Paul.

Explain to me this: why has he won or placed very high in all the straw polls? Why does he consistently win internet polls? Why does he have a grassroots movement with supporters WAY more enthusiastic than those for Rudy, Romney, McCain? The answer should be very obvious.

Don't count out Ron Paul yet. The Mainstream media is going to have to acknowledge him once the 3rd quarter fundraising numbers come out. I used to think that Congressman Paul has no chance but from what I've been reading he is doing really well lately.

You want to hear my theory? Mitt/Rudy/Fred/McCain split 60-70% of the New Hampshire vote. Ron Paul brings out the Anti-War crowd and places second or third with 20% of the vote.

Then what happens is Ron Paul magically becomes a contender and the other four are going to beat each other up while the Anti-War, small government conservatives,and youth flock to Congressman Paul.

Ron Paul is a long shot but he does have a shot. The other guys all sound the same and will have a hard time turning out the vote. People who are sick of the war will have no problem going to vote.

Mitt will win New Hampshire, Iowa, Michigan, and Nevada heading into February 5th primaries with all the big states. Fred's poor showing in the early states means his support will transfer most to Mitt by February 5th. Bottom line is Mitt Romney is the most qualified candidate to ever run for president.
