Why is Donald Trump still talking? And why is anyone still listening? Wasn't his show cancelled? This is just another way to stay in the spotlight and that light needs to be turned off.

Trump is equating success on the airwaves with journalistic integrity. Clearly they aren't the same thing.

Trump only understands success and failure from a monetary perspective. Blitzer's question had more to do with Trump's opinion of the merit's of Rather's lawsuit, not whether or not he was a ratings success.

I'm ambivalent about Trump. Sometimes he hits it out of the park, other times he could not seem more clueless or myopic.

If the quality of a journalist is measured by ratings, we are lost. I don't want an anchor that sells commericals, I want an anchor who is a good journalist. Infotainment is not news. Frankly, I want to watch the news with the lowest "ratings" because I know they are less likely to be sell-outs when compared to their "competition."
However, given what we know about the report regarding Bush's national guard duty, Rather got lazy. At the least, he should have never reported a story that was so easily undermined by computer geeks with too much time on their hands (otherwise known as bloggers).

Quick explanation of Trump: he's always been rich and knows a lot about handling finances. He forms a company to build a casino or hotel, investing a chunk of his own money, then invites investors in to get the job done. When it's built, he lets them buy him out, turning a profit, then looks for the next project. How does he get investors, you asks me? Why, by trading on his famous name, which is why he's making controversial comments and keeping his name in play. He makes peanuts on his tv show compared to the deals he's making in construction.

And that's why he has no basis for judging Dan Rather: Trump's career is built on spin and bluster, exactly the thing a news reporter can't do. It's like comparing apples and orangutans, Donald. Buy a wig or something. Ecch.

I happen to like Donald Trump. Yes he is arrogant, yes he is pompous. People can argue over whether or not he's truly "self-made" or how many billions he's actually worth. But anybody who is rich and successful owes much to circumstance anyway, so to me, that argument is moot. And forget just how rich he is; he's rich. He flies a helicopter. I happen to want a helicopter.

And yes he went into bankruptcy. But anyone who emerges from bankruptcy to fly a helicopter, in my opinion, is cool. Forget how he did it, or who helped him. He managed to pull himself together, and whether he’s worth one billion or ten, I think he’s been rather successful. And I’d give just about anything to work for this man and learn from him and all of his idiosyncrasies. Money talks, whether you like it or not.

Does Donald Trump have nothing better to do with his time than program hop and deprecate the celebrity de jour? Just recently he was on almost every TV network discussing how bad of a person Rosie is among other vitriolic comments…however the only one in their "feud" that resorted to extremely immature, odious and contemptible behavior was Trump. It seems he is taking one step lower these days by attacking the character of a man who has provided over 50 years of service reporting important events for our nation and the world. Seems as if this cycle of Donald’s poor behavior is a feeble and sad attempt to promote his own show’s ratings. Donald needs to find someone else to pick on…his slimy, childish tactics are no match for the character of Dan Rather. Donald was once someone that I admired and regarded as a successful professional, someone I had hoped to emulate. However, there is nothing professional about this man's current behavior and actions. His on air persona over the past few months appears to be that of an out of control, insecure, self obsessed, pathetic excuse of a man who makes me thankful that he is rich because he would not be able to survive otherwise.

You've got to be kidding me, he gets his start by riding daddy's real estate coattails and has hid his and his companies failures in bankruptcy for 20 years. I do not understand why this is in the political ticker. I heard this interview on CNN and Trump gave his opinion about a lot of political topics, but this section of the interview is not about politics and should not be in the ticker.

It is a sad state of affairs when the only journalist delivering real news and truth, uncomfortable or not, is totally unrecognized for his contribution, and entertainment-type news like what is produced from CNN is considered to be what America wants. Dan Rather's ratings reflect less on him than on CBS's failing to allow him to cover the real news and insist intead on absurb entertainment flib-flab.

I have just always found Mr. Trump an anomaly who is occasionally entertaining. But of late, I've decided that the thing Donald Trump attempts to be "best" at is primarily character assassination. Anything or anyone he doesn't like, and they're on his TV circuit @#%* list. He is entitled to his opinion, but geeezzz. I'm not certain who made him the political/social poohbah of commentators, but I would like to have a discussion with that entity about their choice.

It's interesting to hear the opinion of another media-dependent celebrity. Rarely do they say how they really feel in public. Alas, Mr. Trump feels no restraint in confessing his lack of admiration for someone I've been trying to ignore for decades.
