"If we win Iowa, then we can move to the world as it should be."

This statement doesn't make sense. "We can move to the world as it should be?" Perhaps she means, "We can move forward on the task of creating a world that reflects our ideals."

This woman is embarrassing. I cringe to think of her representing our nation at State Dinners and abroad.

She is a broad. Just a classless, tasteless, half-educated broad. Sistah better stop thinking so well of herself.

Please Michelle, tone down a bit. Let your dignified and intelligent husband shine. Don't act like "the power behind the throne", so soon or even if Barack does become president. Avoid saying "doggone i!" four times in a short speech as you did in New Hampshire. Stop looking back at slavery days. Many people have gotten over that, or are trying their "doggone" best to --and the victory in "white" Iowa, is proof enough. The less we talk and keep harping on slavery issues, the faster it will go away. Let's remember that the United States is NOT ONLY bLACK AND WHITE. Many US citizens do not belong to those two categories, many arre "mixtures", so let's stop the HUMAN color coding and just call ourselves Americans NOT hyphenated Americans.

I couldn't agree more with Kay. It is as if Michelle Obama is jealous or something. What kind of woman purposely sabotages her husband!! His campaign managers must be imbeciles or they would muzzle her. She needs to learn to choose her words carefully, and better yet, not speak to the media. She is an embarrassment to all woman, especially African American women.

As noted by snopes, there is a lie being propagated that Obama is a Muslim. He is not and efforts to link him to radical Islam are, at best, signs of desperation from people who know that Barack is the best candidate. They can't win on substance against him, so they resort to spreading falshoods.

If you believe the rumors about Barack being a Muslim, then be sure to watch out for the Good Times virus and to send your business card to that kid who died from cancer and who wants to live on the internet forever.

First of all, this is not Mrs. Obama's quote, it is the media's erroneous quote of her.
why can't you media be fair and print her words as she said them!! Secondly, Obama campaign knows they must win Iowa.

All these people attacking Michelle's picture are so rude. We all take bad pictures. Who cares! How many of these people attacking her picture would balk when asked to take out their awful drivers license photo!
If you don't like being mocked don't mock someone else.
Anyway, she is technically right. If Obama does badly he is done. But if Hillary doesn't beat Obama and Edwards by a lot or they basically all break even she'll be going downhill and Obama and Edwards will get boosts for New Hampshire.

Obama seems like a good candidate - he is left wing - yet honest about what effect his healthcare reform will have (higher taxes) - if the Democrats ran Obama I would have so much more respect for them as they would of chosen a candidate that is honest and forthright - yet there are all those "go girl" supporters of someone with skeletons in her closet...doesn't answer one question at the debates - yet..she has support....Dems - prove that the truth is important for you too - if he runs against Rudy - I would still vote for Rudy - I want a moderate - but if my fellow demos choose any of the religious minority right wingers - and Obama gets the nod - he will most likely get my vote

^^^Ill post this again! Since CNN didnt not put it up! Obama had over 24,000 people attend his rally in "HillBIll's" country...lol I laugh at that because I live in NY and have yet to see her impact on this state. Obama had people watching him from business windows looking down at something so amazing the media just refuses to really give you the truth on Obama and his powerful campaign. Those 24,000 plus people were not there for the Yankees, they were there for Obama. Just like my boy Jay z said "Men lie,Women Lie...But numbers dont!"

Since when CNN has lost the last drop of professionalism in journalism. It's deeply sad and disturbing to see such a downfall of a reputable news network.

You folks are reporting petty news on insignificant candidates or OJ Simpson or Larry Craig or candidate's spouse. How about couple of words on Senator Obama's rally last night in Hillary's turf, right in the middle of NYC on a week night. When is the last time, 25,000 people attended in a rally of a presidential candidate. How many of the candidates in current election, both dem and republicans ever pulled even 25% of the huge crowd and that too in the so called front runner's house.

Don't you think, if anything, that news deserve a huge headline today? You think Media is sooooooooo powerful that you can declare a war against a specific candidate and make American people influenced to vote the one you like. Well look at pictures of last nights rally. It says, your strategy is not working. People are using their own judgement, finding the right candidate on their own. They are not giving any respect to MSM. So before you folks loose your credibility and become irrelevant and earn a huge embarassment for you, PLEASE revise your strategy of singing Hillary song only. We are not asking favor for Obama but report news that is news worthy. That's a fair expectation I guess, CNN, "the trusted news network".

To the person who wanted to talk about who is raising the Obama children. I would advise you to get your facts straight before you make a fool of yourself. Sen. Obama's mother in law takes care of the children when they aren't with their parents and when they aren't at school. They have stated this in public television interviews and in also written interviews.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now about Mrs. Obama's comment it is always best to think about what you say before you say it. You don't just give up because you don't win the vote of one state, what type of message are you sending to the people who are leaning towards voting for you husband or are undecided about who they are voting for period? Or what about the people who have already made up their mind to vote for your husband what message are you sending to them?
Here is a gift from New York-- Stop pulling punches on Hillary's bad habit of taking dirty money, and making excuses for it. Start with the FAKE COMMODITIES TRADING SHE DID TO TURN 2K into 90k overnight when Elvis, Jr. was running! These two are Bonny and Clyde. Bonnie and Clyde were fun to watch, but don't let the baby sit the kids... capish?
Nancy of Dallas, too bad you weren't in NYC today to get exposed to the 24,000 people in "Hillary town" who came out to support Obama. National polls are just one indicator that is simply easy to digest for the average american. Real political followers know that there are many other important metrics, i.e. where people choose to donate they also choose to vote, and we know who's inspiring the most number of Americans to be a part of this campaign by giving of their time and money no matter how small the amount. That is Obama and no other. So don't count your chickens dear before they've hatched. Obama stands for judgment, hope, change and bringing all sides together, it's not too late for you to join us. I'm so happy Obama entered this race to give us a choice versus the status quo. As a supporter of democracy you should be happy about that too.
Shame on CNN for not reporting on this newsworthy rally in NYC.
Since when does 24,000 people coming to a political event no garner immediate news coverage. That was unprecedented support for a candidate and much more newsworthy than some innocent statement by Michelle.
Michelle seems smart and hard-working, but she gets up in front of crowds and sort of talks AT them, using the most annoying tone. There's something ornery about her that leads one to believe she has an axe to grind and is overly ambitious, like the class president or Reese Witherspoon in 'Election'.
I'm a staunch Hillary supporter, but I find some of the anti-Obama, particularly Michelle, comments disgusting and nasty. Yes, her comment strikes me as unwise, quite a bit premature, and indicative of a campaign team unbelievably in over their heads. But is it really necessary to attack her looks? She is obviously squinting, as is Barack (note the guy behind them in sunglasses). She is not "ugly".
But this does prove my theory. If Barack were to win, Michelle would be the next vilified, hated First Lady for no real reason other than she's outspoken -- much like Hillary. So much for "the Clintons are divisive where the Obamas aren't" theory.
Anyway, attack her comments, not her looks.
If Obama loses Iowa, the whole Obama election campaign will just be a bad dream.
Of the first 4 primary states (IO, NH, NV & SC), Iowa is the only state that Obama has a fighting chance to win based on the margin of errors of polls, although he is still the 3rd after Hillary and Edwards. His standing in IO is increasing, although not as fast as Hillary.
In NH & SC, Obama's standing keeps falling, while he is still apart from Hillary in NV.
I am in awe. A person running for president and the news is what the person that person married is news. I guess she is just dipping her toes into the water. But if the polls come out in a negative way, we will never hear from that person again. But I would like to thank the media for sharing that persons opinion. It solved a lot of problems.
To: Therese Bourdeoux,
Obama did study in a muslim school in Indonesia.
In his book, Audacity of Hope, Obama says his mother had copy of the Koran and the Bhagavad Gita in their home. Mr. Obama says his birth father from Africa was raised a Muslim. In the book, Obama briefly addresses his education in Indonesia when he moved there with his Indonesian stepfather. "During the five years that we would live with my stepfather in Indonesia, I was sent first to a neighborhood Catholic school and then to a predominantly Muslim school.” Indonesia is a muslim country and the school was a Madrassa providing Muslim education.
As Obmaa was born by a muslim father and has a muslim middle name (Hussein), he is considered muslim for life according to the muslim people and tradition.
It is ironic that many muslim people outside america do not like us for our policy in the middle east, and Obama may become the next president of the America.
Wow, the 24,000+ people that showed up to hear Obama speak in New York today is pretty impressive. Could Hillary attract such a large crowd (Without Bill)?
Let Clinton tell us that we don't deserve to even hear her answers to questions. I'll vote for the guy who isn't afraid.
If the Iowa outcome means the Obamas' dream of living in the White House and being the most powerful man in the free world is over, thank heavens. Barack is more hype than substance. The poll numbers reflect most people's realization of this. It would be an egregious error to give Obama the reins of the nation based on his rhetoric and vague promises.
No one should criticize Michelle for speaking the truth. What she said makes complete sense, strategically. Unless a drastic change takes place in New Hampshire and a few other states, Iowa is the best chance for Obama to build sufficient momentum to take the nomination.
Otherwise, Hillary wins and hopefully (for the sake of the general election) picks Obama as her running mate.
Either way, I think Obama is going to advance in 2008, and I will continue to support him regardless of his place on the ticket.
I like so much of what Obama says and I am quite sure I will vote for him in spite of his wife. What a disaster she is, my oh my. Has she even said one small thing that might help him? I was disgusted by her comments about sweat and stinky feet. We have no need to know that. It appears she is jealous of all the attention her husband is getting and she just wants to remind he is still the guy who takes out the trash at home.
But...CNNN she is very attractive and I am so sure you had to
look long and hard to find a photo that bad of her. At least make the effort to try and look unbiased CNN. We know you are all for Clinton but you do bill yourselves as a news network.
Michell: if you can do no good for your husband at leat do no harm, PLEASE!
Im noticing that candidates with little or no success on their resumes in managing people and budgets are the ones rambling on about petty issues that have NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW QUALIFIED THEY ARE.
Has Obama actually stood up and said what he has done that qualifies him for President, instead of just making the usual promises ?
this woman has no decorum or dignity. she's not ready for prime time and thinks she's still gossiping with her girlfriends.
when she said to hillary that "if you can't take care of your own house, how can you take care of the White House", that was nasty. when she told us how stinky and snorey Barack is in the morning, that was TMI. now she's babbling on about how she's afraid Barack will lose Iowa, then it's all over.
think back on Lady Bird Johnson , Jackie Kennedy with her beautiful lady-like suits and Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Carter with her gentle voice. these are proper ladies, not radical feminists gone awry. michelle's voice is like yelling and so is baracks' . if you can ' t get your point across without that "preacher" yelling, lecturing voice, you don't have a leg to stand on.
Go Obama! You know, even people in Indonesia (the fourth largest country in the world) are talking about Obama. Unfortunately the media was misinformed about Obama's childhood in Indonesia - keep the record straight, he did NOT go to a Madrasah school, he went to a "normal" public school in Jakarta.
Hope Obama will give America a new perspective about the world because of his background.
It is unfortunate McCain is the best of a bad lot when it comes to foreign policy.
The U.N. is useless to stop terror until
genocide occurs. We must take the mantle
of policeman of the world to stop these
atrocities because the financial interest
of Russia and China precludes the U.N.
from assuming its duties.
"Iowa will make the difference," Mrs. Obama said. "If Barack doesn't win Iowa, it is just a dream. If we win Iowa, then we can move to the world as it should be."
***********
I don't understand why the Obama's talk about changing the world as if he were the Mesiah. America does not need the 'reality show' politics that Michelle Obama brings. This has made it clear that either of the two are ready for the White House.
Obama will win. Even if he does not, the sacrifices his and his family will have made will be long remembered and much appreciated; the American politics will remain in a dark age for quite a long time.
Completely of the subject:
Last June I received my renewal notice from my Medicare supplement. It went from $2100.00 to
$2700.00 for the coming year. I looked into, and signed up with a Medicare advantage policy.
This is what my old supplemental carrier sent to me. The United States House of Representatives just passed legislation which if enacted into law will dramatically cut the amount Medicare advantage companies are paid. This will result in companies leaving the market and cutting benefits on Medicare Advantage plans.
They invited me to return to their plan. If this is all true, listed below; are good reasons for Congress wanting to cut benefits to us senior citizens, so social security has the money for illegal immigrants.
Subject: If the immigrant is over 65.
If the immigrant is over 65 they can apply for SSI and Medicaid and get more than my mom gets for Social Security, and she worked from 1944 till 2004, only getting $791 per month because she was born in 1924 and there is a "catch 22".
It is interesting that the federal government provides a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.00 and each can also obtain an additional $580.00 in social assistance for a total of $2,470.00/month.
This compares very well to a single pensioner who after contributing to the growth and development of America for 40 to 5 0 years can only receive a monthly maximum of $1, 012.00 in old age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!
Consider sending this to all your American friends, so we can all be ticked off and maybe get the refugees cut back to $1, 012.00 and the pensioners up to $2,470.00 and enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the Government over the last 40 or 50 or 60 years.
It is becoming more apparent each day that this is not Mr Obama"s time. I thought he should have waited to run for president after more service in the senate. However I do believe he has been a positive influence on the national stage. He and Michelle have a beautiful family and he has a great future in politics.
