Afganistan and Pakistan... That is where the ilk that launched 9/11 came from. Oh... We have a half ass effort is Afganistan, but if we had a full effort there and in the tribal regions of Pakistan this war would be over years ago. Invading Iraq was a stupid mistake. And not declaring outright war before Congress was previous mistake. As for my "education" maybe you should check your spelling before you post. That is an indication of your education level. And by the way. I am not a "Red State Republican", and my education level is college graduate 1975.

In the Sunday, Sept. 30th Editorial of the Omaha World Herald, the editors correctly point out several factors we should keep in mind as we anticipate a swing in American politics and leadership away from the more conservative options towards the more liberal, and I fear, ever more left towards wing extremes that not even moderate Republicans want to embrace as they contemplate voting for Hillary and their next U.S. Senator here in Nebraska.

Like Newt Gingrich. I will say to all, Hillary’s election to president is very much a political possibility that may very well become a political reality after the next election. Perhaps it is with that thought in mind Hillary seems to be trying to balance her words, thoughts and actions to accommodate not only swing voters, but also moderate Republicans still bristling at what was done to their party, and will continue to be done if certain people have their way.

For example, note the editorials take on the “burden of taxes.” While it is correct in noting that the restraining of taxation is central in encouraging economic activity, it fails to point out that if all the money is in the hands of the few, rich, famous, and fabulously wealthy, that the consumer has no money to consume with, and economic vitality doesn’t just die and wither on the vine, it leads to, and can result in, populist revolts resulting in either communism, or military juntas, and/or dictatorships

If FDR AND THE PROGRESSIVES HAD NOT EVOLVED “WEALTH TAXATION” IN THE MIDST OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION, AMERICA MAY WELL HAVE GONE THE WAY OF RUSSIA - INTO COMMUNISM, OR ITALY AND GERMANY - INTO FASCISM, OR DOWN THE PATH HUEY LONG WAS TRYING TO LEAD AMERICA - ENDING IN ASSASSINATION.

Let us not forget that FDR’s solution of wealth redistribution through taxation was not only the correct step at the time, but a vital ongoing element of Taxation policy upon the wealthy which keeps money in the hands of the consumer and allows them to consume while keeping their two thirds ( 2/3 ) share of the economy booming.

Anyone foolish enough to think that our economy consists only of Wall Street, the Stock Market, and how much money you can stuff into your pockets thereby, is going to end up being a Robber Baron and a Darth Vader to the very essence of American goodness, for it results only greed and greed mongering.

That too is part of what went wrong with the Bush years and his presidency, for he allowed it to happen on his watch, even if not directly involved in it himself. He did nothing to stop it, and indeed, is still doing nothing to stop it, Vis a Vis our southern border and the accompanying (AND CONTINUING) negation of our labor and immigration laws without an act of Congress.

But perhaps the saddest thing associated with this, is the treating of employees, even federal and state employees, as little more than dirt to be swept up and put under the rug to either maximize corporate profits, or hold taxes down in irrelevant and mindless fashion. And if you do not understand why, please reread what I said above about the consumer being TWO THIRDS of the U. S. Economy that Government dare not neglect.... nor Wall Street and their investors lose mind of.

Actually Mark, Hitler could not run for the Presidency. Only individuals born in the US (or a US Territory) are eligible. Aaanold (Ca) – not eligible.
If Hitler WERE running for office, seems the Party most open to his candidacy would be Democrats – considering they don't really mind Robert Byrd (former klu klux klan member) is one of their highly respected Senators.

But, I'm afraid Newt might have a little too much baggage to succeed in an election. When the Republicans when the election (they will), Newt would be a great adviser to them on issues.

He also understands the true nature of the threat we face from Islamo-barbarianism.

That in and of itself, qualifies him to run for president.

GOP has failed to realize they can't be going after the evangelical vote all the time. Those issues don't favor them anyone because they are not true to those values including Newt. that being said the media has failed to realize why the Major from New is ahead in the GOP polls. The evangelical votes are gone. Evangelicals are true to values not a political party. And the media missed it again, the main reason GOP lost the last election.

They think if Hillary is nominated that will bring them back to the fold. No it will not and that's the mistake they make. They will not side with anyone current in the GOP race even if they don't agree with Hillary.

Bush was able to trade on their intelligence by telling them that Kerry will make gay marriage legal. Know fully well the house was controlled by GOP and such a law will never pass. Kerry was too dumb to explain it to the American public.

WOW, that is bold, bridges should not fall? Yes this man is brilliant. He wants to bring us bold new idea's like his old contract with America under another name.

This man is an idoit. His actions and his comments are of an idiot. The Republicans keep repeating how brilliant he is until they start to believe it. He left office in disgrace and failure. He represents everything that is killing the republican party today. The "empty intitiative", "think outside the box", "bold new Plan" nonsense has been exposed as empty retoric. Newt is the best at empty hypocritical retoric. This country is in a terrible mess from following leaders with empty slogan promises and are not looking for more of the same old tired political "experts".

Very bold proposals indeed!

Like Negotiating Peace not War. Like a Bi-Partisan Democratic versus a Dictatorship Government. Like aspiring to be a Nation of Peace not War. Like protecting and upholding what your Nation stands for. Like protecting your Constituion. Like making decisions based on your people's needs and priorities. Like respecting those who put you in office. Like respecting your International Allies not only when you need their aid but on a continual basis. Like reaching out to all ethnic backgrounds in respect and support. Like Governing for the People by the People with no favourtism or cronyism for the elite, rich or famous.

Yes very bold proposals indeed. But, neither George or Newt or any Republican are up to the challenge.

I'm all for somebody that would bring fiscal responsibility to Washington. Certainly none of the Democrats would do so. Maybe Obama if he was actually successful in ousting special interests groups, but then how would any Democrat get elected?

He is probably the only candidate who is smart enough and bold enough to implement fundamental change in the way our government currently operates. Our Government needs to become more efficient and it needs to implement radcial changes to our education system that will work.

I have no confidence in any of the Democratic candidates. Newt is probably the only candidate with enough experience and intellectual capacity to do a really good job of running our Government. Politically he is going to have a lot of difficulty.
