COLUMBIA, South Carolina (CNN) – Here's a quick look at what's making news this morning in South Carolina politics: Newt Gingrich will appear in a web cast during 23 Solutions Day workshops scheduled across South Carolina on Saturday. Sen. Jim DeMint, who is endorsing Mitt Romney, plugs Gingrich's program on the American Solutions Web site. Also, South Carolinians should prepare to have their doors knocked-on Saturday as the Barack Obama campaign kicks off their "Walk for Change II." The Times and Democrat interviews Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, "South Carolina's other senator." Charleston's economy is booming, making it the fastest growing region in South Carolina and one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country, according to government figures. And Upstate Republican leaders are apparently in an "email war." – CNN South Carolina Producer Peter Hamby Filed under: Extra South Carolina |
