DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) — At least via voice mail.

Actor James Denton may be campaigning in person here in Iowa Saturday and Sunday for Sen. John Edwards, D-North Carolina, but he reached out to voters on Friday with a message sent to phones across the state.

“Hi. This is James Denton,” he said in the recording. “You might know me better as Mike Delfino, the plumber from ABC's Desperate Housewives.”

“I'm a huge supporter of Sen. John Edwards for president,” Denton continues, “and when elected he'll not only end the war in Iraq but he'll make sure every American has guaranteed healthcare, among other amazing things.”

In the message, Denton twice encourages listeners to "press '4′" to forward the message to friends.

A spokesman with Edwards’ Iowa campaign said people can sign up on their website to receive messages from the campaign in the form of texts and voice mails.

Denton is stumping with the Edwards' eldest daughter, Cate, on a two-day swing through the state.

The voice mail in it's entirety:

"Hi. This is James Denton. You might know me better as Mike Delfino, the plumber from ABC's Desperate Housewives.

I'm a huge supporter of Sen. John Edwards for president, and when elected he'll not only end the war in Iraq but he'll make sure every American has guaranteed healthcare, among other amazing things.

I'm in Iowa this weekend along with his daughter, Cate Edwards, to spread the word about his plans for change. Cate and I will be traveling all over the state on Saturday and Sunday, and we'd love to meet you along the way.

So please visit www.johnedwards.com/iowa to see our schedule and RSVP for an event.

We also need your help to spread the word about these events and this campaign. So after this message, please press "4″ and forward this on to your friends.

It's so important that we have a president who actually listens to the American people and who has the backbone to stand up to the special interests and fight to make sure every American has the opportunities that he had. John's been doing this his whole life, and that's exactly what he'll do as our president.

So please help us grow this campaign by pressing "4″ after this message and forwarding it on to your friends.

Thanks for joining me in this campaign, and I look forward to meeting you this weekend."

Soo, why are three guys who are totally disinterested in James Denton and John Edwards witting around blogging about them??? Personally, I find both of them to be intelligent, interesting, and easy on the eyes. I can't say the same for any of the Republican candidates, or those who support them.

I'm a Republican….now that I know James Denton is supporting Edwards - I need to switch parties - his role as the plumber on Desperate Housewives is brilliant and worthly of me switching my vote from a moderate (Giuliani) to a left wing multi-millionaire that on one hand claims insurance costs are too high - then on the other suing doctors and insurance companies - does anyone listen to Edwards?

WOW, two stories about this guy.
No one cares.
