Excuse me, but didn't anyone notice what happened when the republicans had sole power? Corruption, pre-emptive, knee-jerk support for everything their president wanted. I would think everyone would have learned from that mistake. And Giuliani (Guililini) wants a repeat?

It is actually tempting for me to think about me voting for him (but not supporting him), if he can pull it off, just so we have checks and balances. I would also prefer to have his name smeared (the republicans) as we extricate ourselves from the mess of Iraq. I do not want it ever forgotten that Bush lied his way into this war and it should taint his name throughout our history. No matter the final outcome of Iraq we had no business invading that country. History should not elevate Bush for being a visionary, if the outcome in Iraq should somehow, 10-15 years hence, okay. I doubt that will happen though.

Giuliani is a joke.

This country is turning into a police state banana republic run by the mainstream media military industrial complex. Anyone who can't see that needs their IQ checked.

RON PAUL 2008 all the freaking way!

Chris, CT, call me a nutjob? I see this is the official meeting place. The last post, from Tricia (PEI), was that the message to get off the Rudy kick and go on to Ron Paul. The skipping CD, etc, means you are getting to played out, move on. Other people can't see what is going on, but I do. I guess you'll disappear and come back with a new name. Next time, leave me alone.

Chris CT

It might prove beneficial for you to at least give some thought of getting together with the Ron Paul fans.

It would cut the number of your posts here to near half and our having to scroll past them to a minimum.

Also have you ever heard the phrase, "you can only say the same thing differently so many times, then it becomes redundant." Or perhaps this one, "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink." Or perhaps this one, "time to change the CD it's skipping."

Rudy Guiliani was an insider on 911. He was told the buildings were coming down and who could of possibly known. wtc7 was destroyed to destroy the sec's records of corporate corruption, the pentagon was hit in it's records department-same thing. One of the describing adjectives that ought to be added to these candidates is globalist and Rudy is a globalist just like Obama and Clinton NWO harpie.

Don't worry,if the conservatives(social) all leave the republican party,it will regain it's strength and recover very well. It's the democratic party that will lose membership because intelligent agendas will be on both sides. A third party of mental deficients will remain irrelevant.

After 8 years of Bush destroying the Republican party, if Guliani gets the nomination the party will be finished for good. Great way to hand an election to Hillary.

The fact that Guliani came this far shows what a horrible job the mainstream media is doing in investigative reporting. We will never know how many lives were lost as a result of his decision to put the command center at WTC. This man is no 9/11 hereo and is not the least bit Conservative-Republican.

With Bush as President and candidates like Guliani/Thompson being played as favorites it is clear Conservatism is dead in the Republican party. They have abandoned core beliefs but cannot win without us.

Bottom line if true Republican Conservatives do not get the nomination I and most other Conservatives I know are done with the party. Hopefully Ron Paul or someone like him will get the nomination or will take us real conservatives to a 3rd party.

Christoper in Conn.- Remember what you say can come back to haunt you. You seem like a frustrated fellow with low self esteem. Not to many people are interested in what you have to say, at home you speak, no one listens, but here you are the center of attention.

Chris-I see through the rhetoric and that's why I see both Hillary and Rudy on the same side. If you go to the DNC blog(where your views are allowed, unlike the RNC blog)you'll find that most democrats find Hillary to be too far right to be happy with. So it's kind of funny to me that I'm some kind of neo-con there, yet a liberal here. If Rudy were to win,it would guarantee a democratic congress,if Hillary wins,it'll be a republican congress by 2010. Either way America wins by having a functioning system of checks and balances. Let's both work our respective sides to the middle where the majority of voters are. I think it's very interesting that move-on,an organization started to push FOR the impeachment of Clinton, now is viewed as a left wing group. Right-wing and left-wing agitators must be negated. You have your work cut out for you and we have our work to do. Let's keep pushing for the good of our country and not let these elements of our parties that gain financially from this divisive rhetoric stop us from attaining a middle ground that represents us both. The balance is now in our favor and doesn't serve either of us properly. It hasn't served your side very well to operate this way either. Keep on pushing for the middle. The American people need to get together to move our dysfunctional system beyond this. I'd like to be discussing substantive issues next fall instead of this religious crap.
Thanks for your help,we surely need it.

jomama........do some research on voting results in the critical state of Ohio. When more votes in some districts were cast for Bush than there were registered voters in that district does that not sound like rigging or is that one little fact more cry baby complaining?

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one - both the Republicans and the Democrats want to own the presidency - thus their idea of what "right" for the country will not be challenged (as much). One thing that neither you nor any of your counterparts will address - is that Hillary voted for the war....using the same intelligence as Bush had...it seems to be conveniently forgotten....never a mention....and theres the "war monger" - to me....and perhaps because I lean to the Republican side - leads me to believe that your party wants to pretend that it had no part in this....and now that we are in it....this cut and run strategy seems to be the best approach...its hardly war mongering - but I guess explaining my side isn't quite working here....oh well - Rudy will win in 08....not because he's a Republican - its because he's a moderate - and once the true cost of the entitlement programs comes in...(and remember...they last a lifetime) - I think you will see that even many Dems will not support Hillary (and see through all the rhetoric....maybe you will too?) There are no right of center Democrat candidates...in fact there are no moderates either...(not running anyway)

I started voting Rep. during college, and certain social issues have caused me to shift to vote Dem. But this is truly frightening, Giuliani (and others) want a total GOP juggernaut on the country - control the House, the Senate and the White House. There doesn't seem to be a recognition of the diversity of views and the desire to be conciliatory in the practice of public service. John McCain, in another article, spoke of America as the greatest experiment in the history of mankind. If the views that Giuliani expressed are normative, then it would appear the great experiment is beginning to fail.

Chris-I think the problem here is that "left," "left of center," "center,"and "right of center" are all on the democratic side. Rudy is actually in democratic territory, which isn't surprising since he was and essentially is a democrat. The republicans have staked out a position on the far right with the theocrats. Most of us believe that's the lunatic fringe. A lot of your anti-democratic comments are coming from that region and make you look like a lunatic yourself. Keep trying to pull your party out of the fringe and kindly stop regurgitating fox news propaganda,it's equivalent to me calling Rudy a right-wing war-monger (which he's not.) I think that's why you're insulting people. Again I strongly support your attempts to right your party and I hope one day the center will actually represent the middle of the road. Until then be aware that these right-wingers have no shame about putting out talking points that make you look crazy. Remember, ideals are just ideals, unobtainable at times but worth working towards.

I hope the GOP sticks to it's guns and runs on their reputation.......

-Initiated war with a country that never attacked us based upon selective analysis of intelligence from Iraq.

-Let Osama (who did attack us) out of sight and mind.

-About the best thing you can say about the divided economy is unless your a crook, millionaire or in the medical industry, it sucks.

-Oh yeah.....the third world lifestyle it's whats hot in New Orleans right now and apparently for the next couple of years.

Greed and corruption are the cornerstone of the republican brand of doing business. I don't know how a self respecting politian running as a republican could expect a single vote.

In 2006 the state of Ohio became a blue state and from where I live the skies are clearing up from the red stentch of the GOP. So in closing let me advise this, all you neocons need to pray real hard, and then find a democrate and stand behind her.

"RON PAUL , he is our only chance, Rudy is a LIAR , ask some of the NEW YORK fire fighters,

read ORWELLS 1984 , they all say the same thing, if RON PAUL LOSES"

Ok...(I know I'm not changing minds..but maybe for something to think about) - this is from Wikipedia - "Center-left, left of center, and left liberal refer to the left side of mainstream politics in liberal democracies. These support liberal democracy, representative democracy, some degree of private property rights and free markets, high spending on social welfare, extensive regulation of the economy" - I would count the number of entitlement programs and how they are to be financed - the mandated universal healthcare would be a "high spending on social welfare" - so...all the Democrats candidates are "left" of center....all I am saying is that the majority is in the center...both sides are running right and left wing...Giuliani is as close to the center as there is running...thats all I'm saying...I'm sorry if you are upset with this point....but you can see from the blogs the division...discussion is good fanatics on either side are not....

First of all, I think it's pretty safe to say the war will be the main issue in the next election. The public does not support it any longer and current polls show congress and the president with impressively low approval ratings. None of the top Democratic candidates are willing to leave Iraq any time soon and all of the republicans (except Ron Paul) just want to stick with G-dub's "strategery." Bush, along with some other members of the republican party have really upset and lost the trust of a lot of americans and the republican party has paid the price for it. It seems to me, that if the republicans really want to have a shot at keeping the white house, they'll nominate Paul, I just don't expect them to have the guts (or brains) to do so. So we'll have another Clinton in the house and we'll spend at least the next 4 years hearing repbulicans cry about Hillary and nothing will change.

Posted By Jon Fort Hood, TX

I'm having a hard time making any sense of your comments.

"America outrages me, you all constantly gripe and rage about support the troops bring them home but you vote democrat in 2008, so then this country can look like the cowards who abandoned a country in which we destroyed, the lives lost of my brothers and sisters in arms become totally meaningless, my pay check gets robbed, and then most of all you make each one of us Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors except defeat. Yeah thanks for the support."

The lost lives of your brothers and sisters in arms become meaningless because the Democrats want to bring the troops home!

I don't view your comment as having much respect for your brothers and sisters in arms! Your comment is suggesting that their bravery and sacrifice will be meaningful only if they win the unwinable, senesless conflict! How utterly shameful of you!

Allow me to give you my view of our brothers and sisters in arms.

They are fighting grizzly fanatical groups of religious sects who place no value on life.

Who are void of any Western Chritian morals. Who equate winning with the number of what they view as satanic Western infidels they can blow up!

Our troops are not fighting on a even plane. They are using weapons against the cemented mind sets of Eastern radicals that have endured for centuries. And no matter how many of these fanatics we kill there are thousands more to take their place!
This war is unwinable militarily whether it be on there turf or ours!

And in my mind, if you were really concerned about your brothers and sisters in arms, you would be utterly irate about them being thrown into the middle of this excuse for a war. An excuse void of any truth, strategy, or support from your current Republican administration.

You would be horrified that our brave military members are making the ultimate sacrifice despite not having enough men, proper equipment or valid decision makers at the helm.

And you would be proud of your brave brothers and sisters in arms for their gallant service under impossible conditions.

And you would be proud of the Democrats who honour their military enough to put their military first by fighting to bring them home.

And you would proud the Democrats are trying to take your brothers and sisters out of this war and out of a Nation whose level of hatred for Western Idealolgy has little chance of change. Especially by military force.

And you would realize that sending the troops home is certainly not defeat. It is applying wisdom in the face of the current administration's stupidity.
And it has no power whatsoever in diminishing the bravery, honour and sacrifices of any active or non-active military member.

Their sacrifice and bravery is not measured by the incompetence of a President who used politics and deception as a means of employing the loyalty and bravery of military forces around the world.

I couldn't be more proud of our brothers and sisters in arms. I thank them wholeheartedly for their sacrifice, bravery, and loyalty.

But they've done enough for their Nations in the name of Freedom and it's time for them to come home in the name of humanity and their loved ones.

God Bless each and every one of them and keep them safe until wisdom over throws power hungry leaders.

Actually no Chris, I think if you discarded the fundraising extremist tactics of both sides you'd find our candidates for the most part are centrists. I don't find Rudy's rhetoric to be indicative of him either, that's why I encourage you to continue. Don't fall for fundraising hype. It's a necessary evil that does our common cause little good. Thank you for helping our nation come together.

Notice: All about the GOP winning and nothing about what they will do for the country!

As always, what is good for the GOP is a top priority and what is good for the country is dead last.

As for the GOP and women - they like their women barefoot in winter and pregnant is summer. Every time Bob Dole ran for office, Elizabeth had to quit her job and bake cookies.

Republican men love women - they've each had two or three ... Vitter pays to keep them company. Bush has appointed several women to serve - but they sit around with the Nancy Regan look when ever he's in the room... makes him feel like Mommy is still there to solve his every problem.

There was a recent poll that said that 60% of all voters describe themselves as "moderate" - as much rhetoric as you want to throw Giulianis way - he is that candidate - and there are many that don't buy the DNC's "Republicans are evil" deal....some...actually think for themselves - oh...and nutjob Laurinda - I don't actually live in Middletown...but when you start looking up where people live...you become frightening to rational people. Democrats....are you comfortable voting with the homeless the DNC buses in with the incentive of free donuts....well and Laurinda?

Lets see... Four more years of Republican rule:
1. $12 trillion deficit.
2. 10,500 dead in Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran.
3. Dollar worth $.73 against Canadian dollar.
4. Passport needed to leave your state.
5. Speaking against President punishable by up to 6 months in secret jail.

I feel safer already.

CHRIS from MIDDLETOWN, I'm not far from Middletown and I don't see your county or the others doing that well since your friend Bush got in. Middletown is full of crime, according to the Times Herald Record, could that be because of hard times? You sit behind your computer and write long stories criticizing all the Democrats. If you were such a intellectual you would have more important things to do with your time than play on the computer. Your comment about people who live in glass houses doesn't even make sense. P.S. The lady said everyone was rude which did include you.

So we invade a country on the basis of lies, then get stuck in an unwinnable fight against a religious fanaticism, but we have to stay in it forever so we don't hurt the feelings of our military who don't want to accept defeat?
Giuliani has a history of taking a position from something not of his own design. This man took the tragedy of 911 and turned it into a political stepping stone for himself and his party. If everyone who thinks they might vote for this guy would take the time to listen to what he says and look at what he really does, Giuliani won't make it through the primary.

Get some cardbaord cutouts of your kids and current wife to take on the campaign trail with you. And hope and pray that none of the brave firefighters or police officers from NYC talk about what a bunbling mess your administation was on 911. Free advice, No charge .
