Paul's fundraising shock

Ron Paul raked in an impressive fundraising total.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - He's locked in low single digits in most polls, but Texas Rep. Ron Paul raised more than $5 million for his presidential bid in the third quarter, roughly equal to or just short of several of his higher -profile rivals.

"Dr. Paul's message is freedom, peace and prosperity," Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder said in a statement announcing the total. "As these fundraising numbers show, more Americans each day are embracing Dr. Paul's message."

Paul's fundraising total is a 114-percent increase over what he raised last quarter and is also only $2 million shy of what Democratic White House hopeful John Edwards raised during the same period. It is also roughly equal to the fundraising totals of Arizona Sen. John McCain and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.

How we love Ron Paul! Integrity, honesty, humility and consistency. People across the political spectrum are embracing the man and his message. Finally, here's a man we can all trust. Not a penny of his funds come from special interests. That's how we want it. He represents us, we the people.

Now let's see if these uppity elitist MSM know-it-all's start getting a clue that we are not fooling around on this one.

This fundraising prowess doesn't even begin to speak of Ron Paul's true grassroots army growing in every state and from every walk of life.

The Congressman is going to keep surprising the effete know-it-all's who want to force Rudy McRomney and Hillary Obama down our throats, day in and day out.

Look at his straw poll showings :

Even though Ron Paul won more straw polls than any of his competitors and even though his fund raising totals rose 114% were still going to hear, "he doesn't have a chance." Well thats wrong, because we the people are taking our country back.

Ron Paul!!! This is great news, that finally people are getting the message! YouTube Ron Paul if you still haven't caught the fever. Register Republican and vote for Dr. Paul in 2008 (Romney and Rudy would have the primaries tomorrow if they could, so register EARLY)

The more debates the big guys skip, and Ron Paul dominates, the more chance he will have to shock the world.

Our country has been 'had' for *way* too long by Special Interests and the Elites – and is badly in need of a wakeup call to survive as the 'United States of America' much longer. Ron Paul *IS* that wakeup call. Go Ron GO!

Ron Paul for President! He is the only choice, the rest are puppets of the elite, who, alongside with Mr. Decider keep stealing from people of all countries. Sad thing is, the puppets are so dumb and corrupt that they can't recognize that they're puppets and will sign or say just about anything that will profit them. Well, the Master Puppet 'Decider' needs to be tried at a war crimes tribunal, and no, thank you, no more puppets. Ron Paul, please save the remainder of dignity this country has left. You lead, and see that people will follow.

I would think this not too big a surprise since he is the only republican speaking to the people instead of at them. Maybe some of the other republicans should take a que instead of dumping the same old rhetoric on the voters.

    Kudo's to CNN for noticing...

Here's my plan. I simply double my
    contribution every quarter. If everyone
does this, we will show exponential growth.
    Thats pretty hard to ignore!

Ron Paul doesn't oppose the war for issues involving human rights or our for our public perception in the world. Instead, he opposes it because he believes in a foreign policy of isolationism. One, where America either ignores or refuses to interject itself to help people being oppressed around the world. Yesterday Ron Paul was one of two congressman who opposed a resolution condemning the heinous actions of the Myanmar junta because he doesn't believe that the United States should get involved. A President like Ron Paul would allow genocide, war, and famine to occur. The world cannot stand for a President who ignores it. We've moved past that.

I'm not sure James from Phoenix is even close to knowing what he's taling about. Almost all of Dr. Paul's contributors are individuals, and no one can give him more than 2,300. Are you trying to say Soros gave Pual all this money?
