Craig: I am staying

Sen. Craig said he will pursue "additional legal options."

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Idaho Sen. Larry Craig said Thursday he will remain in the Senate and study "additional legal options" after a Minnesota judge refused to throw out his August guilty plea stemming from an airport sex sting.

In a statement from his office, the three-term Republican said he was "extremely disappointed" in Thursday's ruling.

"I am innocent of the charges against me. I continue to work with my legal team to explore my additional legal options," he said.

He said the past few weeks have shown that "it is possible for me to work here effectively," and said any replacement appointed by Idaho's governor would not have the seniority and committee assignments "that are valuable to Idaho."

He just needs to get out. Ge should get out of the Senate and get out of the CLOSET!! All the judgmental statements he ever made about our loved President Bill Clinton now apply to him. The hippoctit should get what he deserves! As a closeted member of the gay community he turned coat on us as much as he did on his poor wife! What respectful gay man would have him? Eewww!

It's ok Bush will say Craig is not guilty 18 times in his next speech and all good lil Republicans will believe him.

With the Republicans' association with such disgraceful politicians as Bush (no explanation needed), McCain (for his "Christian Nation" comment), Limbaugh ("Phony Soldiers" remark), and Craig (homosexual behavior), it's no wonder why Hillary and the Democrats are leading in the polls.

A United States senator is supposed to be an individual who is fair, just, and keeps to his word to serve the people. This is a term that no longer applies to Craig (or any of the above mentioned people). He says he's against gay rights, yet his behavior in June could be seen as asking for gay sex. He said he'd leave office if unable to overturn his guilty plea, yet now he keeps on postponing his retirement. Face it, Craig, you can neither outrun nor hide from the inevitable. Do yourself and your party a favor: take yourself and Bush into a dark cave and never come out again.

I expect an appeal case would only uphold today's ruling. And if Craig stays in office even if that happens, it is my belief that the good people of the state of Idaho will unanimously vote to initiate impeachment proceedings against Craig and Bush. To rephrase what some people say: Craig is an unsightly pimple on the rear end of the Republican party.

Cindy, I bet Bush also gives him some special recognition for how hard he has worked and what good he has done for our country! :)

You've got to hand it to 'ol Snowshoes Craig – he's a fighter.

Fortunately, he's beating himself and the GOP up.

    Craig in a Nutshell!!
This all means, the government is for me. I represent myself. Tax payer dollars are here to take care of me and I can be reprimanded on nothing. It's always someone else's fault. The law doesn't apply to me just to you.
When is this ridiculous governmental behavior going to stop?

Though embarasing, the republican party may secretly encourage Larry Craig to stay in the senate, because they only have 50% of senate seats and therefore need his senate vote.

With George Bush, Vitters, etc., the republican party has got used to embarrassing people now.

Larry Craig has lost all credibility and has turned himself into a "punch line". If the US Senate is not going to get rid of him immediately, the good folks Idaho need a recall.

It's very sad that human beings can't
be who they are, without ridicule,
    without negative criticism,and without
any common sense to realize that they who judge are the problem! Love is the solution!

However he's still perfect for the gop,
because he will vote aganist Gay issues
on point along with the other tragic decisions / votes made by the gop!

The gop has brought shame and dishonor
to our Nation. To allow torture, secret prisons abroad, wiretapping without warrants, outing active CIA
agent dealing with WMD's for TWENTY YEARS in the Middle East DUH!, this
is the worst bunch of criminals of our Era.Not to mention "All combat operations in Iraq are over"! 2003-?

Thanks to mr.craig for having no courage to be a decent human being!

"moral and ethical beliefs in the Republican party" ??

Did I miss something in the last 6 years? Abramoff, Duke Cunningham, Vitter, Foley and the Hassert cover-up to keep the GOP FL seat ... Stevens and his bridge to no where now being investigated by the FBI ... and that is just the tip of the ice-burg.

Craig pleaded guilty, paid his fine and now wants a do-over. End of story.

Well, I guess if you can't blame your hometown newspaper, might as well blame the judge who made the call. Dumbass Craig. If the judge had overturned the guilty plea, the judge would have had to call him on perjury. Free promotion for Hillary. Undeserved demotion for Rudy.
