Thompson joins GOP cast of White House hopefuls

    Many Conservatives hoped that Thompson would be a new Reagan – as if the country needed another one. Reagan learned his charm and polished his style on the lecture circuit. Nothing replaces a live audience. Even a former school teacher like me learned that when a particular way of explaining a point or a concept worked, I kept it in my repertoire for the next semester. If my students didn't get it, I'd come up with another way of explaining it.

    Acting in front of a camera is no substitute for experience in front of a live audience.

    Conservatives, who prefer appearance to substance, need to learn that.

    I think Thompson did a better job on Law and Order. Did he quit? Maybe they can find a place for hime because he is not presidential material.
