"Will Al gore please go away, he lost because everyone thought he was a dry, dork, with no personality"

Actually, he won, remember? The majority of Americans voted for him - there is no question about that. Bush was appointed in 2000, not elected, and if you are even going to take the time to post on this board you should know your facts, otherwise you just look like an ill-informed redneck. Oh wait, you're from Texas...

All Al Gore wants to do is raise taxes, so that the federal government can gain more control of your life. Why is that good ? He's unbelievably hypocritical when it comes to energy use and "personal pollution". He will not debate those with whom he disagrees; he charges thousands to schools and corporations to appear before them in person. Why is that a good thing? And what has he ever done that shows presidential ability? Nothing. He has never run anything, only guilt people into paying more taxes. The Nobel Peace Prize is just an award for the most popular cult figure of liberalism at any given time. Therefore, AL Gore has zero credibility for office, and the more the left canonizes this loser, the more he looks the fool.

To Joseph,

For everyone's sake, especially your own, please re-read the facts surrounding the 2000 presidential election. I think you'll find that Al Gore didn't lose the election because "everyone thought he was a dry dork".

In fact, you'll find he didn't lose the election at all.

To those folks can't own up to what a mess the current 'hawkish' president has led the world into I have only sympathy for your pervasive ignorance and stupidity. Way to go Mr. Gore. You were the rightful President in 2000.You will be the Right President anytime.

Hell-No. talk about special-then talk about al gore one who is indeed special. I am happy that he is happy and found himself a purpose a way too serve. The will of God guides Al Gore-he understands his pain is real to him he knows. Maybe some-one will need a true national security advisor or sec. of state or defense sec. or even a vice president to depend on Gore will see and Gore will understand-leave this man alone you have no right to bother him go watch oprah or listen to ralph nader.

Steve's mommy helped him write,

"Most Americans are sick of this fascist admin. Sad to see you're one of those anti-Constitutional "Americans" who wouldn't understand a disappearing civil right from a reality TV show. That's you, James. Wake up, or start practicing saying, "mein Bush."

---

If there ever was such a thing as blog-rage, you've got to be the example Steve. Mind you, I can understand how you would be upset watching (you call "idiot") President Bush being elected TWICE. And when it comes to the next election the DNC is doing everthing possible to throw away it's chance at victory (Hillary Clinton is a joke ... Obama too nice to run a REAL campaign against her).

I'm actually HAPPY to see you so bent about everything. It tells me us conservatives are winning.

Hey - how is that whole "void the Michigan & Florida" thing going for you dems? Or how about the little two-step Hillary is pulling over on you guys (Yes we should not campaign in Michigan/Florida... No I'm not going to take my name off the ballot like you other fools).

Quite Hillaryous.

"Aside from a carnival show… Gore's addition to the race wouldn't change the final outcome: a Republican White House for another 4 years." - James (the real *dumb* one)

Um, James, there won't be a Republican president for quite a while. Every one of the liars has continued supporting our Worst. President. Ever.

"Al might be a lot more electable due to name recognition, but Biden's experience really surpasses any of the other Presidential hopefuls."

Actually, a self-confessed plagiarist - also called a liar - like Biden has as much chance as Mike Huckabee of winning the presidency, or even his party's nomination.

As Mr. Gore has made it clear that he is not interested, why waste time on him? The “Draft Gore” movement is misguided. He doesn’t want to run, he won’t run and you can’t make him run. And frankly, even if by some miracle he could be dragged into the race against his will, who would vote for a reluctant participant?
If this group is interested in having something other than a Republican in the White House, they should use their time, resources and energy supporting a current candidate, or “drafting” someone who wants to run.

The election is just a year away and it is time to get to work. Stop wasting time on non-causes and lost causes and focus on a brighter future for America.

I vote for Gore to have the runs. You are inflating the ego of a guy who knows he is passing junk science as fact....a dangerous practice....and you guys want this guy? (liberals...the "anyone but" argument is definitely showing your stripes (and your ability to rationally chose a viable candidate)) The Democrats have you convinced that Republicans are evil and they alone voted for the war...you know in your heart that none of this is true - they made you believe that Bush vetoed the SCHIP bill because he's only for the wealthy and not for children...but...you know that isn't true...the Democrats put in a bill they knew would be vetoed to grandstand...the fact that any of you would vote to the left/socialist baffles me....but you are being spoon fed half truths and outragious lies....and buying every one of them....so I guess I overestimated all of you...my bad

I would like to see Mr. Gore run again. I think he is less divisive and galvanizing (for the Republican) than Hillary. i also believe he would be able to recover some of the ground lost during the Bush administrations eight years of abusing the world. And remember- he won the popular vote the last time he ran!

"Global Warming Naysayers = Earth Revolves Around Sun Naysayers"

Hmmm kind of like the popular belief that the Earth was flat. That popular belief was proved wrong just like many of the popular beliefs of Global Warming.

Even if Gore had ended up as President, we still would have had 9/11. The big difference is that we would have been attacked several more times since then. I am not a fan of GW, but he was certainly better than who he was facing.

Oh come on!

Gore lost the 2000 election to the guy who would become the Worst President Ever. I think we've had enough and it is time to move on.

Al, put this idea in a lockbox, throw away the key, and keep talking about the climate disaster about which the government is doing nothing.

One of Al's three homes uses 20 times the electricity as my house. I'm sick of getting lectured by this hypocrites, aren't you?

He's distorting science, and he's raising an issue that does not threaten us scientifically, yet he continues to suggest we take away our current standards of living from our children and grandchildren.

Just this week, NASA released a study indicating that the receding of the Arctic sea ice has nothing to do with global warming and has to do with wind patterns. I trust NASA over the Natural Resources Defense Council anyday..

Indeed, a survey of more than 500 climate scientists internationally were posed the question: Do you believe that the science is settled enough to turn the issue over to policymakers? A majority said no. Indeed, barely more than half believed that humans are primarily responsible for the moderate warming that's occurring. And of that, of course, more than half say that our current warming is not a crisis and does not likely tend to be so.

Poor Al, still looking for his glory in all the wrong places..

That would make all the environmental people happy. I have been a member of different groups and I am all for saving the environment and the animals. I could care less about the people.

People here say that Gore does better in most polls than Hilary - and he's not even on the ballot.

This is ridiculous. Polls actually say that Hilary is leading, and Gore is only at distant 4th after Obama & Edwards.

Gore is a political history. He will not get nomination this time, even if he runs. He should have won in 2000, but he blew it and many dems never forgive him. Besides, with 3 months to go, he has not raised money.

@ Some corrections for joseph
> Will Al gore please go away, he lost
Losing by the slimmest margin in history means America rejected him?

Hardly.

> because everyone thought he was a dry, dork, with no personality.

True, he never did get that across.

> I thought he discovered the internet shouldnt he have already won a nobel prize for that? I mean if that staement was true of course.

The internet wasn't discovered. It was developed through a series of government programs, many of which he supported. Politicians don't understand the value of the internet today. Gore understood the value of the internet in the 1980s.

> This guy is an idiot
he was never popular but now he found something he can exploit that is also making him popular, way to go Al

Winning the popular vote kind of flies in the face of your argument that he was never popular. In fact, I think it means the exact opposite.

Also, he's been raising alarms about the climate crisis since he was in Congress (1980s). He first wrote about it in detail in a 1992 book called Earth in the Balance.

So, "joseph"; will you stop to ask yourself why everything you think you know is wrong? Or does this not concern you in the slightest?

I don't need another choice. Obama is a much stronger candidate than Gore. Look at Obama's policies, they are very well thought out and mature on all the issues. And, unlike some other candidates, you know where Obama stands on the issues. Some of the other candidates are relying on misinformation and ignorance to slide on by, that's not the leadership I'm looking for.

USA and Planet Earth need Albert Gore. He deserves the most powerful position in the world as American President. Should have been the winner during the 2000 presidential election. HIS GETTING THE US PRESIDENCY THIS YEAR IS POETIC JUSTICE.

I've voted in every election since I turned 18 - local, county, state, national, board of education, etc. I like voting and usually look forward to it. Until now. There is really no clear choice for me. I am a woman and a Democrat, but that does not mean I will definitely vote for Hilary Clinton - or Barack Obama or any of the Democratic candidates. The powers that be seem to assume that after 8 years under Bush all registered Dems will fall in line and vote for whomever the party puts on the final ballot - just to get a Democrat in the White House. And who knows, maybe I will suck it up and do that. At the moment, however, I'm not all that impressed with any of the candidates from either party (with the slight exception of Edwards), and might just opt to stay home on election day. I voted for Kerry in '04 simply b/c he was not Bush, and it didn't work anyway.

I think Gore is really the only candidate I could vote for with a clear conscience. I signed the petition, made a donation to help fund the NY Times ad, and I hope he runs.

It's rather sad that the non-left leaning posters come across as distinctly uninformed. I don't know what Al Gore's motivations are, and I'm not sure what sort of president he'd make, but a couple of points:

Insofar as anyone in governmental policy helped "create" the internet, Gore's funding for DARPA and the ARPANet (the precursor to the internet) was a major contribution.

Vint Cerf, one of the key engineers involved in the establishment of the internet as we know it today, said as much.

There is an overwhelming scientific consensus that climate change is real and ongoing. To aforementioned posters: read the IPCC report, listen to the arguments of scientists who work in the field and have devoted years of their lives to the study of this subject, and then try and make informed comments.
Even the current EPA's website cites an excerpt:
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has stated "Most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations"

You GO Al Gore, Take your place in History. You have over come a very hard thing to deal with in life. You have now changed it so you will be shown thougout history as a WINNER. The World RESPECTS YOU!
As far as President in 2008, Bottom line; It was not fair for Obama to get his CALLING right now. NOT Right NOW. We AGREE with that point. It was actually supposed to be Hillary right now. We have all been there, were she is right now. So we can all sympathies with her. BUT we all have to put our COUNTRY first! There is just too much going on. If we ALL put our insecurities, hate, jealousy’s aside. We can see that the greatest nation on earth is about to show it and lead the world with a candidate that we All can see he was BORN to lead this Nation at this time! You know how we see our baby daughters in diapers singing with the hair brush and we say Oh lord she is going to be some singer or our 2 year old sons playing grab the ducky toy at the bottom of the bath tub with their mouths while holding their breath and we say Oh lord he is going to be some swimmer. THAT’S what we see in OBAMA. ANYONE who heard him speak at the Convention 2004 though t what I did at the time. WHO THE BELL IS THAT? HE SHOULD BE PRESIDENT. HOW DARE HE GET UP THERE AND TALK ALL THAT TRUTH AND HOPE!! HIS COLOR DIDN'T MATTER AS I WAS NOT INITIALLY WATCHING THE TV SCREEN. He just seems born to do this. LETS LET HIM…

George W. Bush (GWB) is a genious! The war in Iraq is not only for oil profits it's a distraction to keep U.S. from destroying ourselves. Election Y2K Prior to 911 "Affirmative Action" was the political wedge to divide the majority in favor of the GOP. It kept GWB close enough to Al Gore so that Florida (Brother Jeb's state) could determine the outcome. To avoid a second civil war in America Al Gore graciously stepped aside. Yes, to many of my fellow bloggers, Al Gore is not ready for Prez, today's leaders cannot be gracious, they must lie, cheat, steal and murder whomever is in the way profgress. Al Gore cannot mask blatant corruption, he does not have the skills to create an enemy that is impossible to catch so that we live in fear. His foreign policy could not over shadow important domestic issues. He could not standby and witness the moral collapse of U.S. citizens cheering for more. No, let's finish what we've started. Our next great prez will be Gooliani, he keeps the 911 story alive and he's such a perfect candidate that his own children will vote for Obama!
Keep up the good work GOP!
