Somehow I could never really take anyone seriously who stills calls himself "Tommy" as an adult.

As for Rudy, the Dobson cult will run a third party candidate who will siphon off the evangelical vote or keep them home. Unless the GOP pulls off some more of its dirty tricks to keep minorities and Democrats from voting - or changes the allocation of the electoral college in California, enjoy the next 4 years of a Democratic Leadership.

Big deal! That guy looked, talked and acted like he was drunk during every debate. Another round, Tommy?

Of course, only the best of the GOP would endorse Adolph Giuliani.

Having been a life long resident of Wisconsin,I was so very glad to hear that Tommy Thompson was willing to throw his massive amount of influence behind Rudy. Now the Dems have a real shot at the White House. Thank you Tommy!!

Who cares! It doesn't matter who the Republican candidate is, they all want the same thing, eliminate the middle-class. Make the rich richer, keep everyone else poor enough to serve them and contract anything and everything out to corporations.

These are the same corporations that are being bought out by foreign interests. Problem is, a report compiled by a House of Representatives panel earlier this year found that government spending on contracts rose by 103% between 2000 and 2005.

Additionally, even with the rupee gaining on the dollar, Indian outsourcing companies are predicting increases for next year from 35%, by the second largest company Infosys Technologies Ltd., to 127% by iGate Global Solutions Ltd., a mid-size outsourcing company. They're talking about billions of dollars in profits and have already added thousands of workers to keep up with demand. The expect to add thousands more.

If Republicans are elected, you can kiss your jobs and benefits goodbye. The one ray of hope is that America has already realized this given how the mid-term elections went.

That said, Romney would also be a pretty easy target.

The real question is can anyone on the GOP side beat a Clinton-Obama ticket? I don't think so.

Dyinglikeflies: "Could Clinton possibly beat such a combination?"

Yes.

If GOPers are hoping for Clinton, Dems are chomping at the bit to tear Giuliani down. His failures following the 1993 attack and the growing opposition from NYPD and NYFD members will be more than enough.

He was able to get a mere 1000 votes after campaigning in only Iowa state for what 6 months? And spending all his cash there...not really a top endorsement.

I wonder what position Guilliani promised him

And so, with Thompson's post-candidacy endorsement, begins the positioning for the Veep spot on Giuliani's ticket. Personally I think Huckabee is a lock for that because Giuliani needs the heartland/fundamentalist creds. But there is one possible shock coming- is it conceivable that McCain, once he is out of the campaign (and too old to wait for next time) would consent to be Giuliani's running mate? Could Clinton possibly beat such a combination?
