WASHINGTON (CNN) – Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani often stresses his ability to protect America from terrorist threats, but what about from enemies beyond this planet?
Campaigning in Exeter, New Hampshire Sunday, the New York Republican was asked by a young questioner what he would do if aliens attacked the United States, according to the Associated Press.
"Of all the things that can happen in this world, we'll be prepared for that. Yes we will," Giuliani said, noting that he had never fielded a question about potential attacks from outer space before.
"We'll be prepared for anything that happens," he added.
Giuliani spent most of Sunday campaigning in the Granite State, the same day a new poll indicated he narrowly trails rival Mitt Romney there.

Giulian is a phoney. His sayings and replies appear not to have gone through his brain at all.
I watched him a few times in Larry King, and he does not appear to be an intelligent, articulate person who can reasons things out.
He is full of fluff, like a snake oil salesman. He is also a person without redeeming personal characters: he had affairs in two prior marriages (one with his cousin), his son doesnt support his election campaign and his daughter supports obama.
Twice, he received phone calls from his 3rd white during his two public speaking engagements, presumably to show that he has a good marriage life. The phoney part is that he knew she was calling before he picked up the phone from his pocket! What a phoney!
But, he leads in all rep candidares, and he is all that the rep party can offer??? Guess he must be the one eye man in the republican kingdom of blinds

I am so sick of hearing this "but he put the command center in the World Trade Center even after it was attacked" argument. He put the command center in World Trade Center 7, people! That building isn't one of the "twin towers" and had never been attacked before. At the time it made sense to put it there since it already contained many law enforcement agencies and was close to the levers of government. But to hear these comments you'd think he put it on the 100th floor of one of the twin towers. Get informed, people!
Really, Rudy? Ok, I'll bite - how? What is your carefully analyzed, fully fleshed-out plan to protect us against Alien Invaders? Have you coordinated this plan with the other world leaders, or is this another "The American Way is the Only Way" campaign? Or are you, as I suspect, just full of hot air?
Rudy's comments highlight exactly what is wrong with politics today - he sought simply to placate the questioner without any consideration about what was being asked. Regardless of whether you feel the question is silly or substantial, the ~questionner~ felt it was important, and deserved an honest answer as opposed to a soundbite.
I don't know if there is other intelligent life in the universe, or if, if they exist, they wish us harm. What I am fairly confident of is that it is not a risk we are prepared for and that Rudy (along with most of the others) would ignore any potential warning signs unless he thought it was good for a vote.
Just put a fence around the world Rudy....that'll keep 'em out

For 4 days while Americans were dying in a major United States city, Bush's main accomplishments were to play an air guitar on a stage and to praise a total incompetent.
