- The only Congressman serving today that was apart of the KKK is (democrat) Robert Byrd.

- The KKK played a significant role in the 1924 Democratic National Convention – known as the "klanbake" convention.

- It was REPUBLICAN President Eisenhower that sent US troops to inforce Brown V Board (allowing black students to attend an all-white high school) against the obstructionist DEMOCRAT Governor Orval Faubus.

Wow. I was unaware an endorsement from Govenor Goodhair meant anything. We just tend to see him as a week-minded, ethically challenged governor in a weak governor state. You know, just like George was, only Rick can speak in words of up to three syllables with relative ease. All George could do for us was something like a blank stare. Wow. Firstly, let me state that I'm a registered Republican but an independent thinker. In all honesty, I'm not interested in Rudy Guliani or who endorses him. As a native of the state of Texas, I'm not altogether impressed with Rick Perry's policies or actions. However, he has the best hair of any political figure since Thomas Jefferson.

Texas has the weakest governorship in the nation (and by the way, look at who kept that seat lukewarm before Perry).

The Texas governor's endorsement mean's little more than nothing, as it should, especially in this case, when Perry's personal values are being set aside just so he can back the guy he thinks might be able to go the distance.

Giuliani is 'flawed' in his stand on abortion rights and the right to life issue. However, he exudes the strength to navigage a very 'hostile' world globally. Thought the right to life issue is very fundamental, it has been an issue for so long that it is NOT on the HOT plate at the moment. World 'crisis' with extreme threats from Islamofascists coming from all directions. Especially with Russia and Venezuela teaming up with these extremists to line their own pockets and their own zeal for power. The illegal immigrant issue is another HOT plate issue. Perhaps Giuliani will offset his right to life stance by choosing Mike Huckabee as his running mate. Giuliani could offset Huckabee's weak stance on immigration while Huckabee could offset Giuliani's weak stance on right to life. Giuliani/Huckabee in 2008 would be unbeatable. The immigrations issue would be solved by 2015 and Huckabee could carry the Republicans an additional 8 years after Giuliani.

Abortion is a hard thing to do, and there would/could be psychological struggles with this. But for some women, giving up a child and living with the fact that their child is out there and belongs to someone else is also a big psychological struggle that does not fade with time. Considering that Rick Perry is just one of Bush’s dunderheaded handmaidens and considering his abysmal record as Governor of Texas, I don’t think I would view this endorsement as “Big” or even good for Mr. Giuliani. Rick Perry has continued the tragic rape of Texas that was begun by George Bush and his endorsement will simply be another nail in Giuliani’s coffin.

This sort of endorsement is just one more reminder that no matter how Republicans try to distance themselves from their President, George Bush’s legacy will be impossible for them to overcome.

Perry is the worst of the worst. He is a neo-con, far right winging, crooked politician elected to a figure-head position. The job of the governor of Texas is largely symbolic. It has not substance or major responsibilities, BUT as we have seen from history it can be a stepping stone for an idiot to get to the White House. Perry is a joke in Texas and any appointments he may get if Giuliani is elected would come with lots of money under the table. He fits in nicely with the GOP’s culture of corruption.
