So tell me who that is because I've watched the Democratic debates on YouTube and wasn't impressed with any of them either. Hillary is only famous because of her husband, Obama because of his race, and all of them are making promises they won't keep. They're ALL politicians, so don't think for a second that anyone is going to do what they say they will do.

The best bet is to consider who you want to hear your lying from over the next 4 years. Clearly hearing them from a bumbling idiot has not done us any good the past 6 years.

Mike Huckabee is the true conservative and is in a virtual tie with Thompson for 2nd. Now that sambrownback has dropped out, it's time for Fred to do the same!!

The democrats say Fred is fading but they don't get to vote for Fred in the primaries anyway so who cares what the democrats say at this point?

Most of the people who insult Fred are nothing more than democratic sheeple blindly following Hillary as she leads them off the steep cliff into oblivion.

Honestly, shouldn't anybody running for the most powerful office in the world be ahead of everyone else, not having to "do his thang and catch up"? This is the problem with the GOP candidates, they don't know anything. They know demagogy and that's about it.

Contrast someone like Al Gore, who may be boring, but he sure as hell knows what he's talking about, or John Edwards, Obama, and even Hillary Clinton, with Fred Thompson, who relies on his folksy accent and fake transportation to con the people into thinking he would be a good leader. Haven't we already suffered through over 6 years of this already?

Why necessarily compare Thompson to Reagan on the virtues that: 1) He is an entertainer and 2) A conservative / Republican? Reagan spent years and years on the lecture circuit, on the radio, honing his oratory. Where did Thompson learn his? Reagan had two strong terms as governor, when Thompson had one lackluster Senate term. Etc. etc. Anyway, what do we need another Reagan (or another Clinton) for anyway? New leadership for a new era. Go Rudy!

Yes he is. As more and more of the GOP see this man for what he really is, it will get worse. He is a fraud. Anyone who parks their luxury car and jumps into a pickup truck to show up at an event in is a loser. Not to mention he is a neo-con globalist (Fred's another member of the CFR just like many other candidates). So he takes his marching orders from the international bankers and corporations.

All you need to know about a Republican candidate's viability is whether or not the media is downplaying him. If they are, such as here, he's doing just fine. By the way, that also indicates whether or not he's really a conservative. Media darling John McCain is the perfect example, as is Giuliani. If either was pro-gun or anti-abortion, they'd never see a positive story about them.

Ahhhh yes....another true conservative...massive spending and debt...morality issues....shredding the Constitution. Man, I can't wait for that . Maybe he will announce that he is a "compassionate conservative" and totally pander to the religious right. Please pass out barf bags.

Fred, buddy, I think people got sick of hearing the "Is he going to join the race, is he not?" talk months ago that when you finally decided to join, enough people were already dissatisfied enough to care about you.

Throw on top of that the rumors (again, rumors, nothing I know for a fact) that you're kind of a lazy Congressman (or Senator), your campaign stops as exciting as bingo night at the local church, and your campaign initiatives have about as much detail as a blank piece of paper.

It's a pretty bizarre campaign; his entry was delayed for months, then he just doesn't show at events for a weekend, he's obviously uninformed about multiple issues. I think people are just seeing through the hype.

Given that Iowa is polling a strong second in the new Iowa poll released today, I wouldn't count him out just yet.

How can something that was never bright fade? It just gets duller.

You know guys, not one vote has been cast yet, yet all the "wise" do-nothings out there seem to want everyone to think they have it all figured out. Bulls**t on that. Fred Thompson is informed, savvy, and one heck of a lot more viable as a true conservative than the pretender from Massachusetts. Hey, when you start out at the gate placing unrealistic expectations on him, what do you expect? Give the man a chance to do his thing and he'll catch up just fine. I venture to predict that before too long Fred will be putting all the rest of these gentlemen in their places.
