To Anonymous:

You know if I fostered your level of support for a Presidential Candidate, in your case, Obama. I would be proud as a peacock to sign and back up my lengthy, factual, contribution to this forum with my given name vs. Anonymous.

Anonymous does not give much weight or creedence to the author or their suject.

Actually, the next crimminal action could come from any number of places where individuals feel that they have a gripe against our government. But, it is easy to center in on Pakistan. Why not show concern over China, the largest banker the US government has seen in recent history. What if China decided to dump it holding in US Government bonds and notes. What about OPEC if they decided that they were not going to do buissness in US Dollars anymore. Maybe Russia back sliding to a dictatorship, maybe North Korea deciding to up its demands or China getting its feathers ruffled and proclaimimg that US foreign policy is interfering in interal matters with our dealings with Tawain.

Strong on national security, against what common crimminals. Better start worrying about strong on international relations, which will aid in the tracking down and capture of international crimminals rather than talking the talk and sitting down in the easy chair to watch.

Huckabee as President? No way! But anyone who knows anything about the politics of Pakistan will know of the nexus between the military regime and the islamist terrorists. All of the 9/11 terrorists, whilst they may have come from the Middle East, had some connections back into Pakistan - training, funding, etc. The 7/11 bombings in London were executed by guys trained in Pakistan. It was the Paikistani military dictator who Zia ur Haq planted Islamist fundamentalists in the Intelligence Services to control the political forces in Pakistan. In addition, these Islamists were used to build up the Taliban in Afghanistan, and fight the Indians in Kashmir. The cancer spread. Even people like Huckabee understand that. Is it of concern to the USA. Any one who has dealt with fundamentalist Muslims know: as they themselves claim: "The West Loves Life, We Love Death". So if they were to get hold of the Pakistani "Nukes", of course we would have to take appropriate action. Of course, there are millions of wonderful, peace loving people in Pakistan. No one is arguing that.

I suppose the more we throw pakistan into the conversation, the more the American people will start to beleive that Pakistan is Iraq, just like Iraq was Afghanistan. And let's not take the tension off if Iran either. In fact, let's see if we can group Saudi Arabia in with Pakistan. Eventually we can take over the entire middle-east, ensuring that we'll have to fight the so-called war on terror for several generations to come.

I love my country, but I HATE my government (almost as much as I fear it). I don't want to be drafted. I don't want to be drafted. I don't want to be drafted. I don't want to be drafted.

I'm voting for Ron Paul. Because I don't want to be drafted.

It has come time to ask ourselves serious questions about who we want to lead this country.

Never before has more been at stake. We are at war in an endless and irresponsible fashion. Our planet is growing hotter and drier faster than any of the scientists have predicted and wihin 20 years our ice caps may be things of the past.

We have gone from being the most beloved place in the world to the most hated.

Our government seems mired in an endless partisan debate.

We are scared and we feel that we are alone. We grasp at anything that even remotely resembles a life raft.

I ask all of you, out there reading this now, to not grasp out of fear. Do not look backward, look forward instead.

The conventional Washington thinking of past government administrations has devastated our country and our planet. The politics of fear has driven us into hiding, forcing us to temper our beliefs and our hopes in the face of an enemy both within and without.

This is the way countries throughout history has fallen, when they lose their sense of common sense and logic, and start grasping at shadowy enemies and propaganda of the past.

Barack Obama represents a fundemental sea change from that past thinking.

We complain that nothing gets done in Washington. Why? Because Washington politics is controlled by greed and the big money provided by corporate lobbies that it takes to get elected.

Here we have Barack Obama, who ha single handledly reformed that money system, drawing instead on the single biggest foundation of small political donors, most under a hundred dollars, IN HISTORY, to go toe to toe with the Washington establishment.

Here is a man that has devoted his life to bettering the lives of others at the expense of his own monetary advancement. Here is a man who does not lead blindly and dictate answers, but instead LISTENS, and learns, and uses common sense again and again to solve problems.

Barack Obama's record shows this. He has sponsored more bipartisan bills than any other Senator in his time in both IL and the Senate. He speaks more often about the environment and real solutions to our climate issues than any other candidate.

Obama has single handedly reinvented the conventions of the political system. He can make the fundemental changes that are needed to save this planet and pull this country up by the boot straps to make us respected again.

To save ourselves and save our planet we need to think out of the box, and Obama has proven, by his very candidacy and the viability of it, that he's the one to lead the way.

he cannot do it alone. He needs our help. You cannot merely exist as a digital shadow, typing "Obama 08″ and leaving it at that. We must GET INVOLVED in the real world. Go out and start knockin on doors. Go out and put up some Obama fliers or buy bumper stickers and give them to your friends.

Engage People.

Make it happen. If you've never done it before, do it anyway. If you've never believed in anything before, believe that we can do this, that we, the people, can elect a true leader for a change instead of settling for the lesser of two evils as we usually do.

Put on an Obama button and don't take it off. Learn about the issues that are affecting your life and start teaching others about them.

Go to a school or a church group or a tennis club or the local Elks Club and speak. Overcome your fear of crowds to talk about the greatest hope this country has for true and meaningful change. Talk about Obama and convince others to do the same.

Its all about the real world and affecting change in it. The time for apathy and for allowing others to pull your weight is long over with.

We control this world, not others who would like nothing better than for good people to stand by and do nothing.

True evil is not the acts of evil people, it is when good people stand by and do nothing while evil people act.

Do not be part of the problem, be part of the solution.

Support Barack Obama, in the real world.

What are you waiting for, get your butt off the internet and go into the world as a real human being.

It's now or its never.

Obama 08

Maybe if GWB had been serious about capturing bin Laden, we wouldn't have to imagine him hiding in every cave in Afganistan and Pakistan. Here it is, 6 years after 9/11, and, instead of hunting for its perpetrator, we're tied up in Iraq because Bush was more interested in pursuing the man who tried to "kill his Daddy."

Or was it purposeful that bin Laden has escaped our clutches? If the Republicans didn't motivate by fear, who would vote for them?

Fear is unbecoming in a free people. There is only one Republican who is not a fear-monger, and that is Ron Paul.

Charles in Orem, Utah, I do have a dictionary. I have lots of dictionaries! According to my dictionary, a plane, which flies of its own power and is not projected by anything else, is not a missile. Nor is it a bomb, unless it is packed with explosives for the purpose of detonation. By your rationale, all planes are missiles. By your rationale, if an automobile explodes after an accident, it is a bomb. I disagree with your interpretation that "A hijacked, flying aircraft being deliberately crashed into a building is a "missile bomb"," nor do I care what the definition of a "stationary bomb" is, which has nothing to do with the topic.

I think that Mike Huckabee is correct in being concerned about the possibility of terrorists plotting from within Pakistan. However, I believe that saying things like "missile bomb" is hyperbolic and deliberately inflammatory. It is very, very unlikely that anyone is going to launch missiles at us from far away. But it sure sounds scary, doesn't it? So does the thought of terrorists hijacking another one of our airplanes, but we can do a lot more to protect ourselves from that, and we have.

So, if you want to have a serious discussion with the American people about the threat of terrorism, you talk about places like Pakistan, where there are areas in which Al Qaeda is operating freely. If you want to scare the American people, you start talking about missiles.

And that, Charles, is my point.

To all the libs out there. Why is it that when Obama said pakistan was going to be a problem, you people say nothing, in fact obama is ahead of the curve talking about pakistan. However when a republican and one that is outwardly conservative says the same thing its republican scare tactics. the hypocracy you libs bathe your selves in is awesome.

Should we worry about Pakistan, Yes. Although has anyone seriously considered the even bigger threat of the workings of Iran and Venezuela. They are both on a mission, and that is to take over the world, and oust our monarch headed by George Bush. Something to consider.... Yeah, that guy is a joke.

I disagree that our next attack will come from Pakistan and that bin Laden might be hidding there. We can't find missing people right here in the USA or identify the people living here. I believe the next threat is from within our country and we are all sitting ducks. Most of our military is abroad and we don't have "bunkers" to hide in like our high gov't officials(remeber 9/11, Cheney was hiding in a bunker and we the American people were left exposed without a hiding place. However, we did have a military on our soil at that time). Bush's failed plan about taking the fight to the enemy on their soil without knowing who's on American soil I believe will bring the worst disaster from within.

Before partition Pakistan was also Indian and the public there is quite the same way as in India ,they too have values and are peace loving people. Their pshyche may have taken some wrong shots but they would still be more humanistic than many other nations. Don't lure them with money and no body from Pak would indulge in any kind of terrorism. The restoration of democracy and open borders with India will make them truely happy and prosperous for their land is no less endowed.

I don't understand why the best intelligence in the world (U.S. Intelligence) is unable to locate one man (Osama Bin Laden) for the past seven years? If he really is somewhere in the caves of Pakistan, go get him. Is it that they really can't find him or they "don't want" to find him, or are they even looking for him? The nation is tired of "talk." WE'll believe you when we see a progress!!U.S. is playing the same role Great Britain played hundreds of years ago--imperializing. History should've taught them diplomacy is always better than occupancy.

Pakistan is a worry spot. Though the current government in power is sympathetic to the US an overwhelming amount of its citizens are sympathetic with Osama. Many even help protect him. Add the fact that Pakistan already has a formidable nuclear arsenal, means we have to keep a close connection with the current government to avoid Al Qaeda from taking over the country.

That wouldn't be a big surprise, since they were involved in 9/11. Who do you think funded Al-Qaeda? It was the ISI Pakistan's Military Intelligence agency, which was founded by the British and funded by the CIA.

This still does not address his foreign policy experience, it simply shows he can read a newspaper!
Of course, the next terror attack could come from Pakistan, it is a possible location of Osama Bin Laden.
However, it could also come from Syria, Iraq, or Alabama. Huckabbe should hire me to keep him from saying such vague tripe!

The last couple of comments from Huckabee on Abortion and Terrorism indicate that he is ferociously trying to market himself to the Right Wing Conservatives. This highlights the fact that there is a demographic of Republicans that want to hear these types of views -overblown rhetoric about "abortion=holocaust" and about Pakistan doing terrorist attacks. It seems that using overblown scare tactics and hyperbole works really well for galvanizing the Right Wing. What surprises me is that Huckabee is stooping to the level of using sacre tactics, when he has absolutely no chance of winning the GOP primary. Why go there? I want to respect Huckabee, but I have a really bad taste in my mouth from all the Scare tactics used by the Bush Administration during Bush/Cheney's first term, and I think other people are really turned off by this "fear rhetoric" as well.

Huckabee does not know what he is talking about, this is way above his rank and over his head, he is simply fearmongering. But then Huckabee isn't a person whom's sentences have much thought placed inside them.

"There is only one cure for this illness, TRUTH! Did you know that the UN has declared carbon dioxide is causing global warming? If that's true , how long will it be before they start killing humans to stop global warming.
So, Mike Huckabee finally joins the gang to frighten the people. I thought he was different.

And what do you plan to do if you think Pakistan is a threat?

Pakistan is a country with many people living within that country. There may be a group of extremist within that country creating trouble, but do you take actions to hurt the whole country?

Same case with Iran. Do you punish the whole country because of the actions of a group of 'extremists' within the country.

As far as harboring 'extremists', you don't think America has 'extremists' within this country? The ruling party maybe 'extremists' with the kind of rhetoric they are spewing out lately. Should America be bombed because of the presence of these 'extremists'.

Keep on this path and we'll have mutual destruction.

Enough with these fear mongers! They worry so much about "terrorists" then they can come over and relieve me from my post. That goes to any of you that "support the troops". You want to support me, then enlist in the military (if too old then enlist you sons and daughters). You're not going to do it? Then SHUT UP ABOUT SUPPORTING US!!!!

Yes, we do need to keep our eyes on Pakistan, although, not for the reason Mr. Huckabee has cited. Practically speaking, Pakistan is our 54th state. (Check out the Sabri Doctrine) If it were not for Pakistan, we would still be living under the threat of Soviet nuclear missiles. (Read "Charlie Wilson's War" by George Crile)

It is about time we extend that well deserved honor to her. Then we can decide if we still want Musharraf to be the governor of Pakistan and Benazir Bhutto to assist him.

Ron Paul hits the nail on the head, we need to change our Foreign Policy. We should be more concerned about America than other nations. Bring home the military and stay out of internal affairs of other countries, not that we should stick our heads the sand either. Lets fix our problems here first and then discuss the worlds problems afterwards.
