I appreciate you standing up for what is right Mr. Norris. I want to see change in our country that will make it a place that is less revolting to our God. I want it to be a place where babies are not murdered and people are free to protect themselves. I want to see an America that is self reliant in reference to other countries and fully dependent in reference to our Lord Jesus Christ

We, the average middle class americans of the United States of America,
had to endure eight years of Bill Clinton and later eight years of George W. Bush!
We, have had enough of both…..I am happy that we have term limits….However, why do we have to endure more Politics and Lies, from Bill Clinton, his term is over—-if his wife, Hillarry desires to run, then, please shut him up. America is tired of all these same old Politicians. Please, give us a break?

Thank you................

I agree with those post between Mark Waikiki...and on down to Rick. As we all can see Left wing liberal people show their true colors when someone doesnt agree with them. God forbid we as a people have moral values, believe in doing more right than wrong, and raising our kids to Love God. And it's funny that people can lash out at someone on one area of their life(acting) when Mr. Norris has done a lot more than that in his life, a lot more than most people put together here on this post, between helping kids, and his many other foundations of giving back to this great nation. But of course left wings dont remember that part, but they place their faith in a woman who didnt really care her husband was cheating on her in the Oval office(Hillary), a man who finally got caught corrupting this country and what it stands for. The same people on here who lash out at a Godly person, turns and votes for the Clintons of the world. But thats what makes our country great, you have your opinion, and I have mine. And I choose to not burn in Hell for eternity. God Bless America!!!

Wow - First of all, how many times can you liberals post the exact same post? Ok, we get it, you don't care what Chuck Norris thinks. Then you want to go on and insult him for standing up for what he believes in. Chuck's behavior is characteristic. He is a fighter, an extremely well disciplined man with high values who will stand up. He probably didn't expect this kind of outlash, but this is what you liberals do best. Let's spend all of our time insulting a 70 year old American Icon just because he gave his opinion. (Yes, he is 70 and in better shape than most who are in their 30's). I admire Chuck and would love for a chance to meet him one day. Considering that he started out as a martial arts champion and not an actor, he has made a heck of a lot of accomplishments. Chuck is a champion with values who can recognize champions with values (he sent a congratulatory letter to Tim Tebow after his Hiesman win). So regardless of what all the left-wingers believe, there are many of us out here who do care who Chuck Norris endorses. Good job Chuck on standing firm in the face of a massive onslaught. I have a better question though..... Who really cares what the ultra liberal thinks??? Liberalism is, a form of mental illness they say.

I can't understand these negative comments. What does it take to open your eyes so you will understand that christian values are not only good for churches and families, but for business and politics and the country? Don't take it from me, READ THE WORD of your Creator for yourself and pray about who to vote for in 2008, and the choice will become clear, and I believe it will be Huckabee.

Thank God we have a presidential candidate with solid Christian values. Having a great country starts by raising families that are rooted the solid moral principles from which this country has slowly let decay. Maybe the USA can set a good example for all the world. Thanks for supporting Huckabee, Chuck.

Many of the folks who wrote their commentary have no clue what they are saying. Movies that people make have nothing to do with this election or with the intelligence or wisdom of the actor. Chuck Norris has spent most of his adult life helping kids and that makes him a good person. Before you citicize out of hand, live up to the standard he has set. he walks the talk and stands for what he believes. He has the right to support the person he believes would best lead this country and probably has done much more research on his candidate's character and qualifications than most of those who ridicule his choice. Since when does an American not have the right to his opinion or endorsement for that matter?

This country needs a major overhaul, honesty and integrity re introduced into our political framework. I am paying close attention to all candidates and feel as though Mr. Huckabee is clear on issues and has not sold out to the inplace powerful many. If we were to vote tomorrow, he would get my vote and also as many as I can influence to support him!!

It is unfortunate that so many insecure people only feel important when they personally attack someone. Usually they only do it after someone else has started. I'm sure Mr. Norris doesn't care anything about what these people think. He seems quite capable of making up his own mind, and obviously, of forming his own opinion. Imagine that, someone that actually has his own opinion. That’s more than can be said for most people...

Chuck Norris is absolutely right. It's not a power hungry ambition that drives this man, but an honest love for people and this country. He can be trusted to do the right thing. In this country the people are sovereign and he would fight to keep it that way. The thought of living under a global socialist government should terrify everybody. Erasing our borders and subordinating our Supreme Court to an international self appointed court in Belgium are but a couple of the ways our country is being sold down the river by all those patriotic folks on the left, including Bush. These are some very serious, life and death issues and Huckabee would be the best man to communicate the ramifications of these potential changes to the people. He not only makes his position clearly understood, but he also has an eloquent way of framing an issue in a way that is very clear and respectful of the intelligence his audience. He is the man we need at this crucial time, but I worry that we won't be smart enough to give the job to the right man. It seems more like a pageant.

Chuck Norris. It has been years since I have really heard anything new from you other then the occassional joke. But now that you are back, I'm glad your getting into something worthwhile like politics. I'm sure backing up Mike Huckabee will help him a lot.

What a stretch it is to say that the Founding Fathers were secularists!
As Ben Franklin said to the lady on the street after the signing of the constitutiion, "we have given you a Republic, if you can keep it."

everyone who has posted something about the founding fathers setting up the most secular country in the world at the time is correct, however, they did this to protect the CHURCH not the state. They wanted to make sure that the state could not force people to believe a certain religion or keep them from worshiping in their own way, not prevent people who believe in god from running the country.

Also, nowhere in the constitution does it state "There shall be separation of Church and State." What the constitution ACTUALLY says is "The government will not restrict nor endorse any religion over another." Separation of Church and State was later interpreted from this. Only recently has it been abused to remove all evidence of any religion (especially Christianity) from state owned property.

Though I don't normally take part in such asinine banter I have to say I side with Chuck Norris on this. I would hate to live in a country run by secular liberals.

"Like our Founding Fathers, he's not afraid to stand up for a Creator and against secularist beliefs.”

How is that like our founding fathers? Was it them who put "In God We Trust" on out money? No. Was it them that put "Under God" in our pledge? No.

Was it our founding fathers who specifically drafted our constitution so that we must all believe in a single god? Nope, they never did that either. In fact, the non-establishment clause is pretty clear.

So, how is he like the founding fathers? And, if there is a "Creator", why does he need anyone to "stand up" for him? Isn't god all powerful? And why hasn't he smited me yet?

Re: C in Greenville,

"It is one thing to disrespect someone but their God? It's not only insulting but hurtful."

Grow up. God by definition cannot be hurt. And it was Chuck Norris who attacked the secularists like me, first. All I did was point out the brute facts that nonreligious societies are better off than religious ones.

Hurtful? Did I hurt your imaginary friends feelings? Fine! Good! Maybe then you and your religious partners in crime will stop bombing so many innocent people! Maybe you and your imaginary God will stop telling people what to do in the bedroom, or what to learn in school!

Finally someone's feelings got hurt! Not too nice when the "secularists" defend themselves from your bigotry and your imaginary friend's stupid little rules, is it?

Dont you have some praying to do somewhere? Go pray for me to dissapear or something. If you prayed more to God maybe he wouldnt let people like me run amok and hurt your sensivite little feelings in the comments section of a website. Sheesh.

Re: TP,

The Founding Fathers did NOT recognize any Christian God as a creator. They were "deists" if you even know what that means. Shame on ME for defending the modern world from barbarians like Chruck Norris?

TP, you need to grow up and get rid of your imaginary friends. Shame on me. Yea right! It isnt me who is leading the world in sucking at everything I do; thats the Christians job. Enjoy your divorce and STDs and low income and lack of education and war. Ill hang out with the "evil secularists" and have my health and peace and prosperity and technology and freedom and progress.

Norris on the Good Guys side:
Huckabee 1, everyone else - killed by Chuck Norris.

While his point is slightly off in completeness, his opinion is still valid. Many posters (most of which remained Anon) had the same opinion regarding our nation and the “separation of church and state.” That the founding fathers set up our nation as-it-is today is kind of foolish. They were breaking off from European control in which they saw the combination of a ruler who controlled both religion and faith outright. They developed the 1st Amend. Which allowed people too choice various religions. The fact that it is a “secular” ideal is undeniable; however the nation is not fully secularized. There is no law disallowing religion to be involved in politics or business, therefore the nation that the founding fathers developed cannot be considered fully secular. It might be splitting hairs, but Norris clearly is referring to the desire to keep faith and religion involved in our lives so that the nation does not moral crumble ‘al Soviet Union. As for the founding fathers not following a creator… come on, its well documented that they were religious and God-fearing. They belived that a creator could help establish a nation to allow anyone to prosper. Huckabee 1, everyone else – killed by Chuck Norris.

I see some on here still do not understand that the FRAMERS wanted a Secular Government...Obvisouly all those cuts in education by the GoP have made a difference over the years...

Time to become educated...READ BELOW!!!

You show me where ANY Framer of our Constitution said something like this, "Norris added. “He doesn't abandon his values for what's expedient. Like our Founding Fathers, he's not afraid to stand up for a Creator and against secularist beliefs.”

& I'll give you a millon fucin' dollars…Thinking like this is exactly what is wrong with most Americans; most simply do not understand why or how our nation was formed the way it was…

In fact,
Let me set the record straight about HOW THE FRAMERS STOOD FOR SECULARISIM & the United States….

John Adams:
The United States of America have exhibited, perhaps, the first example of governments erected on the simple principles of nature; and if men are now sufficiently enlightened to disabuse themselves of artifice, imposture, hypocrisy, and superstition, they will consider this event as an era in their history. Although the detail of the formation of the American governments is at present little known or regarded either in Europe or in America, it may hereafter become an object of curiosity. It will never be pretended that any persons employed in that service had interviews with the gods, or were in any degree under the influence of Heaven, more than those at work upon ships or houses, or laboring in merchandise or agriculture; it will forever be acknowledged that these governments were contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses.
– John Adams, "A Defence of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America" (1787-88), from Adrienne Koch, ed., The American Enlightenment: The Shaping of the American Experiment and a Free Society (1965) p. 258, quoted from Ed and Michael Buckner, "Quotations that Support the Separation of State and Church"

Jefferson:

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between church and State."

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Danbury Baptist Association, CT., Jan. 1, 1802

Treaty of Tripoli Stating that the US is not and was not founded as a "christian nation" Passed unanimously, with many in the Seante who were founders of the US…

"As the government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen [Muslims] … it is declared … that no pretext arising from religious opinion shall ever product an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries….
"The United States is not a Christian nation any more than it is a Jewish or a Mohammedan nation."
— Treaty of Tripoli (1797), carried unanimously by the Senate and signed into law by John Adams (the original language is by Joel Barlow, US Consul)

I'm not a religious person but since I have respect for people of all faiths, I find it to be my duty as an American to vote against the Democratic Party that has a severe hatred of the Christian religion. Freedom of religion should not be taken away from religions that liberal Democrats hate, but that is what all the liberals posting here truly want.

The Lib Democrats should respect Christianity and Christians as they do Islam and Muslims.

Then again we are talking about people who fully support the Dictator from Iran being able to speak his mind here, yet look to censor each and every conservative voice that has a speech with ideas, facts, and beliefs that contradict liberalism.

The hard core fundamentalist religious extremists in America are a very very small minority in this country. However, even this less than 3% of the population is far more tolerant, open-minded, loving, and respectful than the 30% or so of liberal democrats in America today.

It appears that some of you need hugs....secular today and secular 200+ years ago are very different. Mr. Kinney from Sherman Oaks needs to dig a little deeper rather than basing his rants on what the media tells him.
PS. YOU BETTER LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER...DONT EVER DISAGREE WITH CHUCK!!

Mike,

Anyone can cherry-pick quotes from the past to prove their point.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
John Adams

Power always thinks... that it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws.
John Adams

The Hebrews have done more to civilize men than any other nation.
If I were an atheist, and believed blind eternal fate, I should
still believe that fate had ordained the Jews to be the most
essential instrument for civilizing the nations.
John Adams

I have sworn upon the alter of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.
Thomas Jefferson

I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend.
Thomas Jefferson

The god who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them.
Thomas Jefferson

t is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.
George Washington

Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

George Washington

All who think cannot but see there is a sanction like that of religion which binds us in partnership in the serious work of the world.
Ben Franklin

I'm a Democrat and not voting for a Republican, but I respect Huckabee as a good man with principles. That being said, Mr. Norris should review his history. Many of the founding fathers were in fact what would be called today, secularist. Thomas Jefferson authored the term "Separation of Church and State" and James Madison used it frequently. This debate isn't something new that liberals devised to destroy America, it's been around since the founding of the republic.
