Barack Obama, D-Illinois, in the Democratic presidential primary race.  Affleck also says he's no fan of the rough-and-tumble of politics and he shares his feelings about the Bush administration. It's Bens right to vote for who he wants. I voted for Hillary in NH … GO Hillary!!!

Kelvin Runner, Halifax. NC   October 31st, 2007 1:57 pm ET

Who gives a flip who Affleck backs. He's just a wannabe terrible actor, loose living bum.

American Vet, Anywhere USA   October 26th, 2007 12:09 pm ET

Okay, the time has come for the next war, which unfortunately will happen.

Now Ben, don your full battle rattle (i.e. individual body armor, M16-A2, 20 round clip magazines), and let's defend America.

Oh, what's that? You prefer to direct and act in movies? Oh… Okay, well send us a care package with a DVD of your next movie. Sleep tight, we got your back!

Tony, Enterprise, Alabama   October 26th, 2007 7:17 am ET

Hey, this is still America, he is entitled to support anyone he wants.

As I understand the interview he intends to support the Democratic nominee in the general election.

That works for me.

Hillary Clinton '08

Tim, El Cerrito, CA   October 26th, 2007 1:31 am ET

Oh, and yes we can do that we can say we made a mistake…something those on the right never do because they are perfected like Ann Coulter I suppose.

Tim, El Cerrito, CA   October 26th, 2007 1:19 am ET

God is he cute. Ben has always been one of my favorite guys. Hey, he said he would vote for Obama in the primary but he will definetely vote for a Dem in the general. What's not to love. At least he's not like that stupid Check Norris voting for an idiot Repub. Even Merle Haggard who has always been a rebub is supporting a dem this time (Hillary). We got to get these repub crooks out of there. They are ruinging our country. I wish they would create their own little country with the 25% diehard who think they never can do anything wrong. We could give them Alaska and they could all live up there with the corrupt Stevens.

Kyu Reisch, Radcliff, Kentucky   October 25th, 2007 9:16 pm ET

Ben is not a great actor, I wish he learn and study more about his acting, not a politics. I don't think he knows anything about Obama, he didn't mention anything Obama's accomplishment, so I don't care what Ben said, he just need spotlight for his popularity so used Obama.

Mitty, Miami Gardens, Florida   October 25th, 2007 4:22 pm ET

Kudos! Affleck, that the way to go. Bravo! Obama 08!

RuthieM   October 25th, 2007 3:05 pm ET

Another wise man and great screenwriter/actor!

S. Woodward Mississippi   October 25th, 2007 12:36 pm ET

Why post who the actors are voting for president? If anyone would let these knuckleheads influnence their vote shame on them.

Olivia, san antonio texas   October 25th, 2007 12:17 pm ET

I will quote Chico Stick to acting and "directing" you dimwit. Osama, Oh sorry, I mean Obama is green. He carries little weight. We need a strong person to bring something to the table. We can't vote for someone on color – what's his color going to do in a problem arises? We need a someone who is strong. Clinton will win the nomination and the election. Hopefully she will choose Biden as VP. Not Obama – its not about what makes history. It's about who will make history. Clinton and Biden 2008!!!! Ben is a has been. No one cares who he votes for.

Joe, Lincoln Neb   October 25th, 2007 12:01 pm ET

Another left wing hollywood Al Qaida supporter turning toward the Dems. When will Hollywood ever learn to support our troops?

U. Puganil, Baltimore, MD   October 25th, 2007 11:23 am ET

And voters should listen to actors like Ben Affleck because… ?

Seriously, Affleck's about as intelligent and politically savvy as my pet cockatoo – and she's been dead for 11 years.

Robison in Wallingford, CT   October 25th, 2007 11:09 am ET

If you don't care for Affleck, than why wouldn't you just scroll down and not waste time by posting "who cares?"

I'm not usually a fan of Affleck fan, but he speaks well about why he supports Obama. Obama has been consistant with his opposition to these new, rash wars against Iraq and Iran.

Obama '08!

Nick, Bridgeport CT   October 25th, 2007 11:08 am ET

So Ben Affleck supports Obama. Who cares? The vast majority of Hollywood constantly supports the Democratic party so this is no surprise.

Larry King should have a random cowboy from the midwest, or a store clerk from New England, on his show to discuss their view on politics. At least they're not living in a bubble world.

Mike, Wichita, KS   October 25th, 2007 11:00 am ET

Good for you, Ben. who cares!

Enrique Moliterno, Pelotas/RS, Brazil   October 25th, 2007 10:45 am ET

It's good to know that some actors still dare to take straight stands. I liked Affleck's comment on not being "soured" by Bush's acts on politics. This is what it's all about, to try to find always the ways to achieve objectives. Of course, objectives and ways DO MAKE SOME DIFFERENCE. That's why Obama is at the right time to become president and show the world change is possible.

Anonymous   October 25th, 2007 10:32 am ET

In related news, fellow irrelevant actor, Normal Fell announced that he's supporting Ron Paul.

WHO CARES about these people?

A. Thomas, New York, NY   October 25th, 2007 10:19 am ET

Many talented people are sheltered possibly because of their obsession with their arts. While I respect Ben Affleck's personal endorsement of obama, his choice should in no way affect his fan. His reasons for backing obama are misinformed or weak, however.

James, Phoenix AZ   October 25th, 2007 9:29 am ET

To Wallace in Chicago,I will be happy to oblige:

I hate Hillary, the entire country hates Hillary, and I have nothing better to do.

Swift Boat Vets for Truth!!!

Bubba the Gambler, Swainsboro GA   October 25th, 2007 8:43 am ET

$100 on Affleck against Chuck Norris. I say the kid can take him.

Christian, Tampa FL   October 25th, 2007 8:41 am ET

People on here can be so negative. There's no reason to call Affleck a "dimwit" just because (OMG!) he has a brain and uses it.

I swear, if the ticker is any indication of America, then we are a nation of rude idiots.

lavelle Rochester,Ny   October 25th, 2007 8:21 am ET

I wonder what planet you people are from. I think you guys are the reason why other countries hate America! Look at your comments regarding who Ben Affleck is supporting! It's his god given right to support whom ever. Just because he doesnt support your candidate he gets called all types of names! Thats a shame

Karen,nj   October 25th, 2007 7:52 am ET

No one care who actors endorse. End of story.

sonya, atlanta, ga   October 25th, 2007 6:24 am ET

Ben is a side chair political junkie just like the rest of you guys posting here. He has a right to voice his opinion. To each their own. And to the poster who said Obama has no executive experience. I might add, HRC doesn't either.

Mark, Minneapolis, MN   October 25th, 2007 4:04 am ET

Calling a married couple in politics a "dynasty" is rather odd. The Bushes and the Kennedys, with their political siblings, cousins, children, etc. – these are dynasties. The Clintons are not a dynasty: they do not have an extended political family on either side.

Mark R. Fort Lauderdale FL   October 25th, 2007 1:21 am ET

Clinton/Obama 2008!

Mark San francisco California   October 25th, 2007 1:02 am ET

Aren't there more important political things to discuss?

Daniel   October 25th, 2007 12:28 am ET

Obama certainly has a lot of work to do… The last national primary poll taken by LA Times shows that since Obama is now basically tied with John Edwards! Link.

how embarrassing ; Ben doesn't know that Obama has NO EXECUTIVE experience. Why anyone would vote for a candidate without a record of success is beyond me ?

Joe, NOYB   October 25th, 2007 12:10 am ET

Who cares? A clown endorsing an inexperienced politician has not stated an agenda that offers anything extraordinary to the American people. On the other hand, Tom Tancredo has the most to offer to all American citizens.

Mary Ann, Kennewick, Washington   October 25th, 2007 12:06 am ET

Wow, now I can sleep at night! Ha.

Mark, St. Petersburg FL   October 24th, 2007 11:24 pm ET

Who the hell cares?

Lance in Monrovia CA   October 24th, 2007 11:16 pm ET

Hell yes he should be backing Obama. Any sane person in this country should be as well. Obama is smarter, has more common sense, and better judgement than any other candidate. He's inspired more people and raised more money without the help of lobbies and PACS. he's a community organizer, a professor of constitutional law, and a civil rights attorney. He listens. He was against Iraq in 2002 and against Hillary's Iran vote last week.

Obama is the future of this nation. I'd put my life in his hands and my country. When he talks, I believe him.

This country needs vision and great ideas and the ability to pull it all off. Obama has all that.

This January and February, vote in your cacuases and primaries like your life depends on it, because it does.

Stand up for Obama, or fall over for anything and everything.

Obama 08

Gary Penley, Divide, CO   October 24th, 2007 11:14 pm ET

Who cares who Ben Affleck is backing?

Ani,Irving,Tx   October 24th, 2007 11:01 pm ET

Ben,that's a smart choice.Let stop the dynasty!

Wallace, Chicago IL   October 24th, 2007 10:55 pm ET

James Phoenix, Arizona

Please provide your usual dose of hate here. I'm waiting for more hate from you. My day is never complete without it.

Affleck is a racist right? No Oprah is a racist for backing Obama because she's black. Wait, everyone who is black is a racist for backing Obama.

And Affleck is crazy for supporting someone who actually cares about the American people right? I know. Please keep it coming.

Wallace

Mitchell Dallas, TX   October 24th, 2007 10:31 pm ET

Never cared for Affleck anyway!

Chris, Ashburn VA   October 24th, 2007 10:31 pm ET

I'm a big fan of Ben Affleck and very disappointed in this! He has absolutely no idea what he's talking about and gave zero reason (or a very, very weak one!) for his support for Barack Obama. Augh! Ben – Why didn't you brush up on this topic 15 minutes before the show….so you could have made an informed opinion?! – And than the millions of misinformed Americans watching could have actually learned something from you. Its a shame!

john williams san diego, ca.   October 24th, 2007 10:28 pm ET

i support ben's choice also…anything to stop her "pure evil magesty"..can you see bubba with a free reign while she is leading our (i mean ted kennedys) country…call a lifeguard!!!!

Moon Pie   October 24th, 2007 10:24 pm ET

WHO FREAKIN CARES WHO IN CELEBRITY IS ENDORSING

Ben   October 24th, 2007 10:09 pm ET

It's about his judgement with regard to the war. It's about his consistency in opposing the current round of aggressive posturing that has further inflamed the middle east. It's about recognizing the incredible errors of the current administration and not putting a democrat into office who will continue the mindset that led to these errors.

Thank you Ben Affleck

emily,boston,ma   October 24th, 2007 9:47 pm ET

I always knew this kid from hollywood when he and jennifer were on the news all the time. It never occurred to me Ben Affleck will ever mature but I can not believe how well he handles himself when he appear on late night shows. I share the same feelings with him. People have been drained morally and the goodness of people or humane is gone and we need it back really bad. I can not say more than Affleck has said all the time.

Paul M Bjordahl, Wichita, KS   October 24th, 2007 9:37 pm ET

While he may be a talented actor, I don't think that the public needs the unsolicited advice of anyone with the turbulent personal life and lack of education that Affleck brings to the table. I would also enjoy recieving insight into complex political issues from someone who has more than a high school education and perhaps never had to resort to living on Matt Damon's couch because he couldn't cut it on his own.

Mae, Norfolk, VA   October 24th, 2007 9:36 pm ET

And why should I care?

Chico, Lansdale, PA   October 24th, 2007 9:30 pm ET

Stick to acting and "directing" you dimwit.

Independent Voter, TN   October 24th, 2007 9:26 pm ET

Don't care about Chuck Norris, don't care about Oprah and don't care about Ben. They hold no sway with me.

Chris, Greenville, SC   October 24th, 2007 9:17 pm ET

A very wise choice.
