A new polls shows Americans think Clinton makes a scary Halloween costume.

(AP) – Once again, Hillary Clinton leads in a poll. This time, she's the top choice when people are asked which major 2008 presidential candidate would make the scariest Halloween costume.

Thirty-seven percent in an Associated Press-Ipsos survey this month chose the New York senator, the front-runner among Democratic presidential contenders. Fourteen percent selected former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who leads Republicans in national polls.

No other candidate exceeded 6 percent.

Clinton was the choice of four in 10 men and one-third of women. While a predictable two-thirds of Republicans picked her, she also was the choice of 18 percent of Democrats. Among members of her own party, that made her second only to Giuliani as the scariest costume.

About one-third of independents, nearly half of whites and just over half of conservatives and white evangelicals selected her.

Giuliani was the choice of 17 percent of men and 12 percent of women. About one-fifth of minorities and city residents and one-quarter of Democrats also picked him.

While many conservatives have doubts about Giuliani's candidacy because of his moderate views on abortion and other social issues, only 6 percent of that group said they thought he would make the scariest costume. That is about the same number who chose Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois.

Giuliani was also picked by 10 percent of white evangelicals, another largely conservative group that has had doubts about his candidacy.

The poll involved telephone interviews with 1,013 adults conducted from Oct. 16-18. It has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Ok, for all you dimwits who are complaining about how CNN consider this "news" . . . well consider this: THIS IS A BLOG! CNN can post whatever news, facts, or events they want on a blog. Yeesh, get a life and complain about something else.

Yes, I'll be watching through my window that dark and spooky night of October 31st as she rides past on her broom.

Tara, Jacksonville, AR   October 30th, 2007 12:58 pm ET

GO HILLARY !!!! I hope she gets it because then we can all see how it feels to have a woman president. She can't do no worse than this president we have now. Fact I think she'll do much better than we have ever had by the "man presidents" I hope she gets it because she is from Ark. she knows how it feels to be poor and hopefully could bring some jobs to this state, since we are losing all our jobs to China and Mexico.

andy meyer, herndon ,va.   October 30th, 2007 12:39 pm ET

Please please please make Hillary the nominee. Conservatives will vote for anyone running against her , even the southern baptists will vote for a Mormon in the White House.

Ed Darrell   October 30th, 2007 8:07 am ET

You're misreading the poll. Most Republicans are more frightened by Giuliani and Romney — because they think Clinton is what they get if they embrace either of those two.

The spectre that haunts Republicans is a Democrat in the White House — any Democrat. The problem for Republicans is that it's not individual candidates driving the Democrats, it's policies.

Sam, IA   October 30th, 2007 4:15 am ET

Way to go CNN. Thanks for getting to the gist of sociatal upheavals and carnage throughout the world. Way to keep the focus on Hillary haters and thier chiuldish tantrums. A good batch of corperate shills you have there.
Fuel went up 17 cents a gallon overnight but of course we don't count these skyrocketing costs when figuring inflation anymore. Makes the tycoons look bad which of course would be a bad career move for any (reporter) climbing the ladder.

Rick, Kansas City, MO   October 30th, 2007 1:37 am ET

Of course this is the article that garners the most comments. Halloween costumes make such a controversial subject.

Kyu Reisch, Radcliff, Kentucky   October 30th, 2007 12:56 am ET

I agree with Thomas ny, Hillary is the prettiest person of all candidates. The most scary is Giuliani's political view and his wishy-washy wife, Romney's eyes and his wife's face, Obama's sharp tongue and his wife's ugly face without mask, The Edwards couple's stupidness and Thompson's contradictory dream.

frappaolo107   October 30th, 2007 12:55 am ET

I think I would run in the opposite direction crying and screaming if I saw Hillary on the street asking for candy. She would probably buy out the other kids and steal they're candy too. She is the scariest of all of the candidates, except Giuliani looks like a zomby or something.

Frank Honolulu Hawaii   October 30th, 2007 12:01 am ET

You can see from the majority of comments that whoever is fueling these Hilary's shoe laces and Hilary as scariest costume stories is suspect. Could it be CNN is delving into FEMA type news broadcasting?
Why on earth does CNN follow this sort of information to create a valid newsworthy story? We count on CNN to be the most unbias and unfiltered news avalable.
What a great thing it would be to be the most free press source in the entire world. Unfortunately, CNN has a long way to go.

P.Sherman, Ontario Canada   October 29th, 2007 10:48 pm ET

What is scary is the number of people responding to this with such an intense hatred that is indeed telling of the state of politics in your country. For 8 years during the Clinton presidency we were forced to endure the Republicans trying to find some way to remove him from office. Now during the 7 years of Bush we are we are still forced to listen to republicans try to exhonerate Bush by saying Clinton was to blame for everything that has gone wrong, and now we will be forced to listen to what a terrible woman Hillary Clinton is til your next election. Just when does this intense hatred of 2 people ever end with republicans?

Peter, Wausau, WI   October 29th, 2007 9:29 pm ET

Very true… in addition to her frighteningly-close-to-socialism health care policies, she even LOOKS a bit creepy…

Ben   October 29th, 2007 8:58 pm ET

Chris, lincoln, NE   October 29th, 2007 8:58 pm ET

Disgusted in Colorado Springs, CO   October 29th, 2007 8:36 pm ET

This is the dumbest and most insignificant piece of NEWS. Besides it’s rude and distasteful, whether you are a Clinton supporter or not.

Stephen, Naples, Florida   October 29th, 2007 7:51 pm ET

Better get that costume to the dry cleaners quick. Otherwise it could be used as evidence.

Tom, Sacramento, CA   October 29th, 2007 7:26 pm ET

Hillary is a very attractive woman and I would bet most people that made that comment can't even spell our next president's name right let alone name the current secretary of state.

Ann ME   October 29th, 2007 6:56 pm ET

Oh, isn't that just the dearest photo of Hillary that CNN's found to put with this witch caption. I'm dutifully impressed, yes.
The woman is a witch and
behaves like a witch and
speaks like a witch, by Jove,
I believe she is a witch.

Ricky J. Clifton Columbus, Ohio   October 29th, 2007 6:53 pm ET

A poll on which presidential candidate would make the scariest Halloween costume? Senator Clinton tops the list; go figure? She's absolutely beautiful inside and out. Inside being the more important factor. Obviously those polled were most likely men in our country who refuse to believe that their household isn't lead by their wife. Wake up America. I will be so proud when she delivers her first State of the Union Address: followed by seven more. Our second President Clinton will be the one to bring us back as a country respected around the world. Each of we deserve that.

John A. Starnes Jr. Tampa FL   October 29th, 2007 6:48 pm ET

Good grief…the poll was silly enough in a time of genuinely tough issues facing us, but for CNN to even THINK of considering it news proves once more that REAL news,as in the days of Huntley Brinkley, has sunk to cheesy infotainment that no self respecting journalist would associate themselves with. No wonder Cheney and Bush can BS millions distracted by "pressing" stories like this one or Britney or OJ "news".

Bill, Arkansas   October 29th, 2007 6:27 pm ET

Just wait til Halloween next year…talk about scary!

Chris, Middletown, CT   October 29th, 2007 6:04 pm ET

heres a secret….for all Hillary supporters….wanna see where all her "ideas" on government spending comes from….research Saul Alinsky…this was her mentor and teacher….its scarey to see how all her ideas are pretty much his….(so you say?? He was a grassroots Marxist….and this it what they "push") - thats the truly scary thing

Tricia M Charlottetown PEI   October 29th, 2007 5:44 pm ET

How Jeuveile!
Why doesn't CNN ask what President would make the most terrorizing costume. Bush would win hands down and wouldn't have to sew a stitch.

julius,watertown, mass   October 29th, 2007 5:34 pm ET

much of it will come because she is old! 60years old, wanting to be a president? That is a real granny and might forget some stuff!

Jeraldine, Little Rock, AR   October 29th, 2007 5:17 pm ET

Got this dead on! She'll be quite scary in the white house and if the democrats crown her as queen, they'll see a republican in office for the next 4 - 8 years!

Mike Roberts, Chicago, IL   October 29th, 2007 5:16 pm ET

To Dave of Chevany, MD:
There is nothing new to your theory. Republicans hated Clintons the day they assumed presidency. Everyone knew that they hated Clintons because of their intelligence and smartness. Hillary is not perfect. But, there is no other republican candidate who can come close to her and everyone comes with the same baggage as hers, except Ron Paul. If you can't distinguish Bush's policy vs Clinton's, we don't need your vote. Just vote for Guliani, and if by god's grace 51% of people like you vote for him, suffer and let this country go to war for another 50 years having China and Japan bankroll few more trillions.

Dan (Columbia, MD)   October 29th, 2007 5:11 pm ET

Hillary in a blue dress.

I think this is just sexism to be honest. It's only newsworthy because the media still think it is acceptable that a woman be judged on her appearance not her qualifications to run for office.

I'm so sick of nonsense, juvenile attacks on this woman. Attack her policy decisions if you truly have political differences; but if the best you can do is criticize her hair/laugh/marriage, then your time is better spent studying her position papers rather than coming across as an ignoramus.

Annoyed in Corvallis, OR   October 29th, 2007 4:20 pm ET

Mike Roberts, Chicago, IL   October 29th, 2007 3:53 pm ET

Wow! What a newsworthy story from CNN! Their reporter must be awarded a pullitzer prize!
Actually, Hillary's support will get stronger by such stories. There is nothing substantiative to talk about Guliani, Romney, and other loosers who follow Bush. Thats why such stories is giving some incentive for the right wingers to bash Hillary.

Max, Boston, MA   October 29th, 2007 3:49 pm ET

Brian, Lancaster, PA   October 29th, 2007 3:49 pm ET

Those who discount Marxism (or any) ideas without even having read them, or for that matter understanding that modern unions are founded on Marxism don't deserve an opinion. This sort of nonsense has bred a generation of loud mouthed lobbyists who are proud to have not read anything. Anti-intellectualism has nearly destroyed this country. But the mob has spoken. They have their miniature American flags, and wal-mart. They are happy.

I'm all in favor of taking away the voting rights of those who don't think.

Doug, Washington, DC   October 29th, 2007 3:47 pm ET

Ya know, if the media didn't submit to every lie and deceit foisted upon us by the administration, something like his might be an amusing aside.

But they're not only NOT doing their jobs, they're wasting our time with this crap instead.

TBD   October 29th, 2007 3:46 pm ET

I would say its her "evil" quality over her unsightly looks! Listen this woman, she has no experience running a country, she can't even run her personal life. Her husband gets a "tune up" in office and she sticks by him, why? She didn't want to move out of the White House! What's she going to do, turn a cheek to terrorists to the likes of her lame duck husband? No thanks, I would take nearly any other person from any other party over this woman.

Glen, Boston, MA   October 29th, 2007 3:44 pm ET

It's all just so insulting to these strong women.

Whaa! Whaa! Whaa! All the liberals are so pissed off because CNN posted a timely story around Halloween in which Hillary Clinton makes for the Scariest Costume. If it was a Republican that was voted scariest you all would praise the comparison.

The only thing scarier than a child dressed up as her for Halloween is her getting elected president. Now there is a nightmare scenario that won't go away come November first.

Anybody But Clinton.

Politically, I do not like Hillary Clinton and I have no intention of voting for her. However this is not newsworthy and it is just not nice. The world needs more news pieces that uplift not tear down. CNN needs to be a little more mature and not report this type of tasteless information

Jon, Toledo, OH   October 29th, 2007 3:38 pm ET

This is the biggest waste of time. CNN has really sunk to a new low with this "story". CNN should apologize to all of its viewers, Democrat and Republican, for insulting their intelligence with this childish school-yard crap.

JB Boston MA   October 29th, 2007 3:33 pm ET

Hey Pat from Huntington-

Clearly you are for equal rights amongt Gays and straights. Clearly you are for Hillary Clinton.

Please explain to me how you can back a woman who is against gay marriage and for civil unions. The two are not equal.

I love the hypocrisy!

Also, for those people who make Hillary being a woman, an issue, you are sexist. You should not vote for her because she is a smart woman, but simply smart (if that is what you believe)

Trust me, if she gets the nomination, she will lose in the general election.

Dems are attempting to force a candidate on people. 48% negatives! I would love to hear a pro Hillary person address the 48% negatives. And no, that doesn't mean she can get the remaining 52% and win.

Why not be smart and go with an Obama, who can win? Besides he is further left than Hillary.

Simply becasue there are angry lefty's who want to stick it to the R's instead of get a good candidate who will work with the R's and get stuff done.

Many R's have already said they will never work with Hillary. It's called compromise people!!

Shimanilami, San Jose CA   October 29th, 2007 3:29 pm ET

I have a serious problem with the current administration, which is why I stated I was not sure I would ever vote Repub. again. I just don't want another Bush or Clinton in the White House. Scaaaaaarrrrry indeed. Scarier still is people who will vote for her merely because she is a woman. She has no executive experience. What has she run? Besides running her family into the ground. Also, I know people who have worked for her. She treats people like crap.

I think this is a silly story. I do wonder about this cult business though. Seems to be that certain people (Buggie) seem to be switching. I am getting a little annoyed about what is going on. Why would Democrats want me to open the Amazon mail and get a virus? If it was the Pubs why wouldn't they have given me a virus when I went on the PEI site. Someone has some explaining to do. George, I do agree with you as well. There really is only one party with two heads. It is basically a lesser of two evils type of deal. But Hilly in office is almost as scary as giving Bush another four years, and that is sad. By the way, I am neither Dem or Rep.

Julia Hayden, Idaho   October 29th, 2007 2:43 pm ET

"The personal attack is not called for. The thing which is MOST SCARY IS HER POLICIES.

She would raise taxes, support liberal judges, have a far left cabinet, be weak on terror, and is just NOT THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IN 2008.

Let's face it, she is a socialist. Even her husband was no where as liberal as she is."

Lee, you know your talking points, but do you have any idea what the feck you're talking ABOUT?

First off, Hillary is NOT LIBERAL. She's MUCH farther to the right than I would like, she's like a Bush-lite. If she is so liberal why did she vote for the authorization to use force in Iraq? Why does she let the president and this administration continue to trample civil liberties and shred the constitution in the name of the "war on terra"?

Who knows if she would raise taxes or not, and even if she did, would this be such a terrible thing? Or would you rather keep running up America's debt by using Chinese loans? You keep saying liberal like it's a bad thing, but in my opinion she isn't nearly LIBERAL enough. The past 6 years have been under staunch conservative rule and let's see where we are….religious zealots dictating US policy, MASSIVE national debt, trade deficit, 2 ongoing wars with no end in sight, an INCREASE in overall terrorist activity worldwide, etc. I don't think it's the liberals you need to be worried about.

Peter, Rotterdam, Netherlands   October 29th, 2007 2:05 pm ET

My God, Americans, you have nothing better to do ?
Greetings from The Netherlands

Flagship, Hartford, Connecticut   October 29th, 2007 2:02 pm ET

Dear CNN,
I agree, this might be the dumbest article I've ever read.

Pixie, Murfreesboro, TN   October 29th, 2007 1:56 pm ET

I can believe this! Nothing scares people more than a woman with an opinion.

Julia Hayden, Idaho   October 29th, 2007 1:55 pm ET

Who did you poll, Men who are so afraid of intellectual castration, by an intelligent, beautiful woman? And for the women , Women are their own worst enemy, they are so jealous of another woman who is educated, intelligent and can think independently, and these are the two main reasons we have never had a woman president. But, hopefully things will change Go Hillary Go! Hillary or Obama, either one will work for me. They are both Great.

Ty Web - Bushwick, NE   October 29th, 2007 1:51 pm ET

Shame on you CNN. How is this news? Why do you keep doing things like this?

G. Newton, Louisville, Ky   October 29th, 2007 1:48 pm ET

This may be the dummest poll that CNN has ever conducted. It isn't any big surprise who voted for her - the people who just don't want a Democrat as the next President and she's the front runner right now. Not only is Hillary a nice looking woman but she's twice as smart as the "yahoo" now occuping the White House. How about the survey done in England last year which asked people who the biggest terrorist was in the world. Geoge W. Bush came in 2nd behind Osama bin Laden. Now that's scary!

RKA, IL   October 29th, 2007 1:48 pm ET

Actually, this survey is an insight into why Clinton is less electable than other dem candidates. She polarizes republicans against her AND still loses 18% of her base. Against a guilliani who will hold the right wingers motivated against Hillary and also get some dems with his moderation on social issues, she may well lose. Why do we dems want to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and nominate Hillary.

cc, texas   October 29th, 2007 1:48 pm ET

Hey CNN.

Why don't you stop paying someone to take care of stuff like this, and start donating that money to the care of the death row inmates your readers want to keep alive?

Gorge   October 29th, 2007 1:44 pm ET

P.T.Barnum said it best, only today, there must be a thousand suckers born every min!Dont be fooled,"THERE IS ONLY 1 PARTY WITH 2 HEADS" and they serve their master and not the American people,as you will soon see, a share cropper you will be!LMAO

Richard, St. Paul, MN   October 29th, 2007 1:40 pm ET

My vote for scariest: Bush, Cheney, Rove, Giuliani or…. well, pick a Republican… ANY Republican!

Kim, Peabody MA   October 29th, 2007 1:39 pm ET

Hillary is a modern day Jezebel and will drive this nation down the path of immorality, deviancy, and division – as her husband did in the past.

This picture is an example of the groups she will support under the “Hate Crimes” and “ENDA” legislature. http://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewpoetry.asp?id=205017

John D., Houston, Texas   October 29th, 2007 1:31 pm ET

Poor Bill! It is like Halloween every day of the year having to wake up to that mug. Wonder if Bill puts candy in Hilary's purse every day thinking it is her trick-or-treat bag.

Rennae   October 29th, 2007 1:29 pm ET

This article is so very immature and disgusting! You call yourself a NEWS organization?? How is this news? Have you no shame??

Eric, from THE Republic of Texas   October 29th, 2007 1:28 pm ET

I don't agree with any of her policies or what she intends to do if elected.

However, I think we all, as adults have to admit that this is a terribly childish poll. I mean, really, folks.

We can disagree and argue policy until the cows come home. But we should always do so as adults… adults who can display passion and conviction, yet also display dignity and respect for one another… not behave like name-calling school children. This goes for both my party and the Democrat party, too.

It's time we as a nation start speaking, acting and behaving in a manner befitting the title of "adult" or "grown-up." I think the least we can do for the generation coming up behind us is to behave like the adults they expect us to be.

Mark btown indiana   October 29th, 2007 1:15 pm ET

Frank: Bernard Goldberg is a conservative joke. Just another conservative who worked for the "liberal" media, and won awards, and then complained about them being liberal as he is on almost every network, just like most conservatives, he claims some form of oppression when they are everywhere.

It's not that the media is excessively left wing, its just that the right wingers like goldberg are so unflinchingly conservative that it makes them look super liberal. and besides Reality has a well known liberal bias.

Chris Pettigrew, Atlanta, Georgia   October 29th, 2007 1:14 pm ET

Very funny and spooooky scary too! To think that she might be the next President! Help! Hey "liberal chic", get a sense of humor, we are going to need one if the Democrats get in office.

KJ, CA   October 29th, 2007 1:13 pm ET

What is scary to me is that twice as many people were included in this poll than the polls they take to see who people are going to vote for for President. Shows us where the media things our values as a people fall…

jackie st. louis mo   October 29th, 2007 1:13 pm ET

why don't you take a poll on the dumbest costume so george w could actually win something….

It's okay if it's not your own kid.   October 29th, 2007 1:10 pm ET

*** I think a better poll would be: Which war monger running for president never enlisted or would encourage their own children to enlist?***

albert buckingham-Spring Grove, Pa   October 29th, 2007 1:10 pm ET

the most scariest thing is having her run the country and do the same thing she did to health care and that was make the permium that i pay tripled when she indtrouced her plan to give everyone health care at the working people expense.

Tom, Austin, Tx.   October 29th, 2007 1:09 pm ET

Slow news day…eh?

A reader, San Francisco, CA   October 29th, 2007 1:06 pm ET

Hi! Just as a reminder to posters from a fellow reader: this isn't an article, per se. This is essentially a blog entry! (The icon next to the URL even lets you know that this blog is powered by WordPress!) So don't despair when you see a weird survey on CNN — it's all in good fun! Promise!

Paul Santino Fort Pierce,Fl   October 29th, 2007 1:05 pm ET

Without a doubt this is the most hysterical poll ever taken. While her appearance was most likely the catalyst for these results, her attitude puts the icing on the pumpkin.

pat huntington ny   October 29th, 2007 1:05 pm ET

She would raise taxes, support liberal judges, have a far left cabinet, be weak on terror, and is just NOT THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IN 2008.

Let's face it, she is a socialist. Even her husband was no where as liberal as she is.

Posted By Lee, Ann Arbor, MI : October 29, 2007 12:33 pm

Amazing you think this because most intelligent political thinkers, including those republican senators who work with her, have come to learn that she's more left of center than far left…and in fact, she gets some bad grades from the far left. Therefore, the socialist commentary against her is unwarranted, and illogical. It's another attempt from the right wing spin doctors to come up with a lie, and say it over and over and over again to the dumbed down republican voter, thinking that by doing so, it must be true.

David, Dallas Tx   October 29th, 2007 1:05 pm ET

This article is worthy neither of the AP nor CNN.

Kenneth May, New York, New York   October 29th, 2007 1:02 pm ET

Can't CNN find a better more newsworthy way to channel its time. Your web site is becoming more and more like Entertainment News and less and less about what is important to America's Future. Less about the trivial and more about what Americans can do with to secure their furture. Please!

Kenneth May

yosh n san francisco,ca   October 29th, 2007 1:01 pm ET

must be a slow news day when media have nothing better to do than dwell on stupid stuff like this. how about more hard news of important issues

pat huntington ny   October 29th, 2007 1:01 pm ET

"I see dead people, uh, I mean republicans!"

Aidy, NY, NY   October 29th, 2007 1:01 pm ET

I could not help but laugh when I saw this, especially becuase I dressed like her for Halloween.

I dont care what they say about her she is great and I cannot wait until she is our president.

pat huntington ny   October 29th, 2007 12:58 pm ET

This is the most scientific, most politically relevant, most revealing poll ever. NOT! This just shows how immature the voting public is.

Greg, Phoenix, AZ   October 29th, 2007 12:57 pm ET

This is one poll that I agree with completely!

donnae, Ashmore, IL   October 29th, 2007 12:54 pm ET

I think Hillary is a strong beautiful lady and will make a great President. Can't be any worse than what we have had in the past. Who are any of us to cast a stone. Look where she is and were most of you / us are. Go Hillary!! And I am neither Dem nor Rep. Just vote for whom I think would be better than the other for the job.

Kathryn Irby - Metairie, La   October 29th, 2007 12:53 pm ET

Hillary isn't the "spookiest", just the most intelligent! She will become our next President of the United States in 2008! God Speed the Day!

Rachel   October 29th, 2007 12:52 pm ET

Funny– She'll probably be Voldemort for Halloween. She's probably off making horcruxes as we speak.

Susan, NC via LA   October 29th, 2007 12:52 pm ET

And how this is news?

Joe, Boulder CO   October 29th, 2007 12:50 pm ET

What a very childish survey. Adults are actually acting like this?

Susan Macedon, New York   October 29th, 2007 12:47 pm ET

Are you 12?

This is something I'd expect from a sixth grader - not a multi-national news network!

By the way, I prefer a socialist any day over the fascists we've had running the country for the past six years! Now they are Scary!

Chip Celina OH   October 29th, 2007 12:42 pm ET

We need a state by state breakdown on this. If she carries the scary poll in Iowa, can she make up the deficit in New Hampshire (where she might be trailing).

Enquiring minds want to know!

Frank, Columbus OH   October 29th, 2007 12:38 pm ET

Q: Why are Giuliani's pro-abortion rights views "moderate"?

A: As Bernard Goldberg pointed out in his book about CBS (Bias), left-wing journalists who comprise the overwhelming majority of the mainstream media consider themselves to be "moderates" — after all, the elite circles in which they travel are filled with people who all think the same way they do — so their actually far-left views are always tagged in the media as "moderate."

TLINK, Lake Orion, MI   October 29th, 2007 12:34 pm ET

That's some news CNN. Thanks for further reducing my opinion of your outlet. At least you are for once showing your true colors…..as a conservative media outlet. Pretty pathetic.

Lee, Ann Arbor, MI   October 29th, 2007 12:33 pm ET

The personal attack is not called for.

Even her husband was no where as liberal as she is.

HH, Pittsburgh, PA   October 29th, 2007 12:26 pm ET

Wow, this is a new low in stupid news stories!

W.Grose, Arnprior ON Canada   October 29th, 2007 12:26 pm ET

This is just plain mean & totally dumb. The way the good ole boy types are running your country right now, it might be an idea to give a woman a shot at it. I would even bet that a large portion of the percentages of people who dislike Mrs. Clinton, dislike her because she's a woman.

Bob, Seattle, WA   October 29th, 2007 12:25 pm ET

Look up 'Witch' in Webster's Dictionary and you will find Hillary's picture.

Jon, Pittsburgh, PA   October 29th, 2007 12:24 pm ET

To Ron in Texas and other Hillary bashers - amazing what the right-wing has accomplished with regard to feelings towards Hillary. They have said the same negative things about her over and over for 10+ years. More amazing is how many will believe what they hear. It's because they WANT to believe it. And, they are scared to death of a Hillary administration. Maybe some of you will move away…. Ah, wishful thinking.

michele hackley east haven ct   October 29th, 2007 12:23 pm ET

CNN is supposed to be a leader in the news area. This just proves the media is all alike and you are no better.

a small child   October 29th, 2007 12:18 pm ET

Mommy, there's a Republican under my bed. I'm scared.

Greg Minnesota   October 29th, 2007 12:17 pm ET

What's the point of this. CNN continues to turn into FOX with now news and guaged at entertainment vs. factual worthwhile stories

Robert, Shelton, CT   October 29th, 2007 12:14 pm ET

I'd be scared if Rudy Giuliani mask came to my door…he flip flops so often, the kid playing him might suggest he wants candy before saying he has never wanted any.

J.Crobuzon   October 29th, 2007 12:13 pm ET

Tom, are you a robot? You post that spew about 'Hillary's a socialist' on every comment board. Did you know your local power company is a socialized monopoly, and the water company too? And AMTRAK trains? Local cable tv?
Heck, YOU might be a socialist yourself by now from using all those socialist services.

Jason McGraw, Platteville, WI   October 29th, 2007 12:12 pm ET

Dear CNN,
This might be the dumbest article I've ever read.

Don Dee, Buffalo New York   October 29th, 2007 12:10 pm ET

I'm with Doremus Jessup. What a pointless and stupid survey. Your readers deserve better.

Mary NJ   October 29th, 2007 12:10 pm ET

So, THIS is News?! No wonder we are sinking into the abyss of pop culture. Manners, morals? Cnn..get back to real news. I can hardly believe this is the same news outfit that went live from Bagdhad in the 90s.

jose, austin, tejas   October 29th, 2007 12:08 pm ET

Liberal Chic,
You are so typical if someone is making fun of someone on your side its wrong. I cant wait to hear all the jokes about the old crusty repubs, from the clinton supporters. Will you have such a heart felt post denouncing all those comments.

Chris, Middletown, CT   October 29th, 2007 12:06 pm ET

Its like my mother always told me - you can't change cult members or Hillary Clinton supporters minds - (Mom always did know best)

Angela, Alexandria, VA   October 29th, 2007 12:06 pm ET

The only reason she was picked is because she'll probably be the next president. And let's be honest here, the scariest costumes would be Thompson and Guiliani.

Jason, SeaTac Wa   October 29th, 2007 12:03 pm ET

What's really scary is Hillary's politics, say goodbye to your paycheck, your individual rights, and if she could have her way, your free thoughts! That's scary. She's just another Markist.

a.thomas, ny, ny   October 29th, 2007 12:02 pm ET

Those who voted Hillary having the spookiest Halloween costume are republicans and supporters for other dem candidates. Hillary has caused these people nightmare, because she is winning in polls and they will be out of jobs soon!

Without doubt, she is the prettiest of all presidential candidates. The look of giuliani sends chill through my spine. Mark my words, she shall be the next president of USA, and that is a blessing to america.

Liberal Chic   October 29th, 2007 12:01 pm ET

What an a-hole thing to survey. That's really nice showing kids it's very funny to laugh at someone else's expense, a woman's appearance, no less. I am sure Hillary Clinton (and all the other candidates) is a heartless monster and isn't even slightly pricked that people are saying such nasty things about her.

AP and Ipsos ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Ron, TX   October 29th, 2007 11:56 am ET

I'm sure someone will suggest that it's because she's an ugly woman, but the real truth lies in her 45% negative numbers. No other presidential candidate in recorded history has been disliked by as many as 45% of America. It is an enormously high number that will sseriously effect the presidential election if some democrats are so dim as to give her the nomination. And to ward off the inevitable on-slaught of the Clintonistas, no, I'm not a Republican. While Hillary Clinton may have support from 50% of democrats in national polls, that also means that 50% of democrats don't like her.

Tom Dedham, Mass   October 29th, 2007 11:56 am ET

The scarier thing is this socialist even having the slightest chance of winning the election.

Rehan, Chicago   October 29th, 2007 11:55 am ET

What a pointless survey. She's seen as "spookiest" because she will probably win. Obama would poll much higher if he were the front-runner.

josh   October 29th, 2007 11:52 am ET

I believe that!

Shawnie Cannon, Grants Pass OR   October 29th, 2007 11:51 am ET

Finally, CNN admits it!
