We are in a very dangerous place in this country when people are so blinded by their politics they are willing to turn a blind eye to an obvious enemy (one who has stated their goals on numerous times in startling clarity), all in the name of getting "their team" elected.

Apparantly, there is something in the water in NY. Read below...

Karen from NY wrote:
"I don't think we are under a terrorist threat at all."

Those four airplanes full of people, those two 110-story buildings, those 3,000 people who died in a span of less than 120 minutes... Richard Pryor years ago had a term for something like this... he called it "a hint-and-a-half for your a**"

Further, Ed from Ellenville, New York wrote:
"Our imaginary man in the sky against their imaginary man in the sky is still just lunacy."

Bud, I'm with you. Let's leave religion out of this. The fight against Radical Islam has nothing to do with Religion. It has to do with fighting a Doomsday Death Cult, one that seeks to kill you and I because we don't bow to their Cult's god and beliefs.

If your views are indicative of the majority view in this nation, we as a free nation are finished. Skip the long lines and buy your burka and prayer rug now.

Well, at least I like their food, so maybe I'll have an easier transition when I'm forced to convert.

Bush's words are the rope his terms judgement will hang by. If there is a comparison to Hitler it is in the reflection of his own mirror. Kidnap, murder and torture are not American values, and Bush is not smarter than Congress. He forgets that it is his own invasion of Iraq, not congresses, that is our biggest problem today.

Ruth, N.D.

If Bin Laden is dead the American people need some proof of that. Because right now he is still alive if you've seen the videos and heard the tapes.

We have lost the focus of hunting this guy down and killing him like we were promised. We managed to kill Saddam and others but not the "big fish". I simply don't buy the excuse that Bin Laden is in the mountains somewhere. America's resources are better than that. Until this happens, we will continue to wonder ... what are we really doing?

Jay, Raleigh, NC:

There is seriously something wrong with your way of thinking. You sound like one of those brainwashed poppets in the Democratic la la land.

Bob Reading PA and Tom - Dedham, Mass: THANK YOU. Very compelling analysis.

Eric,Texas-It's you who simply doesn't understand. You think we should play the game. Why play? I think we should stop playing period. Is it smart to fight against a radicalized religious group by radicalizing our religious groups? It's siily to play. Let's just end it now. No religion in our politics. No respect for theirs. We shut up our nuts. We treat them like nuts until they do the same. We could have a new spectator sport like rollerball. Your nuts against ours. The entire concept of life after death, glorifying death as something to strive for is ludicrous. It lends itself to endless, pointless war. Kick it out of the political arena and turn it back into what it was designed for, entertainment. Our imaginary man in the sky against their imaginary man in the sky is still just lunacy. Let the looneys fight their own. Leave us out of it. Stop playing the game and just end it. Mandatory storage of radioactive waste in all religious sites would be helpful too. Ever put a geiger counter on that chinese steel? Do you think maybe that's why they can't make a wrench that doesn't break? Wake up and realize that playing along is just being played. Stop playing.

Eric..I don't agree with you at all. I don't think we are under a terrorist threat at all. We have all the American citizens being vigilant. Who do you think tells home security about suspicious activities? That's exactly right, we do. The Bush administration is constantly using scare tactics and they are discovering that they are no longer working. But, I am sure that Bush will dream up some other kind of scare for the American people.

"How the hell is "fighting them over there" going to keep terrorists from coming over here? How long do you really think it's going to be before they simply cross our wide open borders or ports and do another 9/11, or worse?"

It's real simple, bud. Terrorists want to become martyrs, that is, die for their cause. We, as Americans wish to help them in their cause of dying.

They want to die for their cause... we are willing to kill for ours. It's a wonderful symbiotic relationship.

See, by fighting them "over there," we're simply making it easier for them to meet their maker, as they can just flood into whatever country the American Military (ie "the infidels") is currently stationed... instead of bothering to try to come illegally into the US.

To look at it another way, we're like the McDonalds for Radical Muslims looking to become martyrs. Using that analogy, I guarantee you, if they manage to detonate a nuke on American soil, the McDonalds slogan of "millions served" will not just apply to hamburgers, but the millions of Muslims living in, around and near Mecca and Medina. Bank on it.

Hillary's response here is but one example of many shining examples of why Democrats simply aren't viable candidates in a Post-9/11 world: they just don't get it.

They honestly don't understand the threat posed by radical Muslims, and as such, they underestimate that threat, to all of our detriment.

Terrorists laid their cards on the table years ago, and their message couldn't have been clearer: "We will end the modern secular Western world, and bring about a new caliphate, worldwide, united under Islam."

In other words, convert or be killed.

They have spoken. Are we so daft as to think they're bluffing?

Bush was spot on point: Democrats Just Don't Get It.

What I find most amazing, is the fact that the people with the most to lose under a new Muslim conquest of the Western World, are women, liberals, gays and the decadant "Hollywood types," many of the very same people who are protesting the loudest against the people who are trying to protect their ungrateful hides.

You think it's tough living under the Bush rule, try living under Sharia Law. "Shut up! Put your burka back on and cover your ankles, lest I beat you with a stick or throw acid in your eyes."

It's the devil you know versus the devil you don't.

Why even listen to the thoroughly corrupt bought-and-paid-for MSM? Any candidate who has affiliations with corporate lobbyists or the CFR will bring us more of the same double-talk - no matter what their party affiliation is! The real contrast today is between the elites and ordinary Americans who believe in the rule of constitutional law. Want change? Vote Ron Paul!

Bush's stupidity knows no bounds and anyone that believes him is as stupid as he is!

What ever happened to avenging 9/11? The Taliban still control parts of Afghanistan. For example, the town of Musa Qala has been under their control for the last 9 months. Bin Laden is still free to poke fun at America whenever he wants and Afghanistan's record drug crop is making all the money terrorists need to plan and get ready for another attack on American soil.

Yet here's Bush and all our resources in Iraq! ...and here's the Republicans blindly cowering behind him.

How the hell is "fighting them over there" going to keep terrorists from coming over here? How long do you really think it's going to be before they simply cross our wide open borders or ports and do another 9/11, or worse?

A country that stands divided cannot stand. We need to put aside our personal agendas and beliefs and just look at the facts. Not the passed but think of the future and what awaits us. If you believe that you are safe from the threats that are surrounding our great nation and that nothing can bring us down. Then I fear for your ignorance. Maybe you should stop reading from crap.com and start opening a history book. But then again you might consider this website as your reliable source of international relations and political news, that right there would explain you lack of knowledge.

Excellent response by the RNC spokesperson. No matter what else they say about him, no one has been as resolute as Pres. Bush when it comes to fighting terrorism, the most important job of the President.

“Tap away baby, I have nothing to hide, do you?”

Why do conservatives want to live in an authoritarian police state? Having something to hide has nothing to do with it.

It’s about the fact that court authorization is needed before a search. The U.S. has functioned just fine with this safeguard in place (with the exception of Nixon’s illegal wiretaps of his political opponents), and America has thrived for over 200 years.

“We have cameras everywhere and not just the gubment doing it”

You don’t understand the difference between monitoring a public place vs. monitoring a private conversation on a private phone line?

Move to Russia. Seriously.

WAKE UP YOU FOOLISH LIBERALS..

Let's simplify this for the Liberals who believe in the "goodness of mankind" :

Hitler said he would rid the world of Jews and conquer the world...he then proceeded to kill 6 million of them and conquered all of western Europe.

Lenin said he would bring communism ...eventually 100 million died.

Bin Laden and the Taliban (who want to force Islam and Sharia law on the world by force (convert or die)), said they will destroy Israel and the United States... They came to our biggest city and knocked down the two tallest buildings killing 3,000 plus just for starters. Do you think they are serious or just joking?

Can Bin Laden be compared to Hitler ... no not yet. Not until he kills at least 100,000 more. Just wait a year or two .. then the analogy should apply.

What will think when they detonate the Nuke in New York City or LA and kill 100,000 for act two? Will you be glad that you voted down the surveillance legislation?

Now why are Democrats so upset about listening in on every phone call to Pakistan, Iran, Syria, etc.???

Are they concerned that America is stepping on someone's rights?

I got news for you, if you are calling Iran or Syria, you automatically give up your rights. They are killing American soldiers even today. So let them listen to the phone calls. Let them screen the communications.

Afer all just think of the thousands of Liberals that will be saved when Bush foils a Nuke bomb plot as a result of eavesdropping?

Why are Dems so upset? Do you think that surveilance of your phone calls are next? WRONG! Who cares about your miserable little lives and stupid phone conversations.

Bush is trying to save lives. If you think there is anything else to it, you are wrong.

Call you congressman tell him to pass the Surveilance bill.

Windy from Cali, the Patriot act is not unconstitutional it was passed by a HUGE majority of politicians from BOTH SIDES of the fence.

Tap away baby, I have nothing to hide, do you? IF they used these wiretaps for anything other that the stated purpose, I WOULD BE RIGHT NEXT TO YOU YELLING LOUD AND CLEAR.

ILEGAL Wiretaps are a funny thing, considering the CLINTONS have used them over the years to hurt regular folks that you and I BOTH don't want hurt by wiretaps. Hmmm.

What illegal searches are you talking about, airports, train stations, stadiums? To save peoples lives, this bothers you? Are you serious, we have had screening in airports for years.

We have cameras everywhere and not just the gubment doing it, look up in any parking lot and you will see them, if they save one life or solve one kidnapping, YAY, YAY, YAY.

The individuals you are defending are not pulled off of the streets of Cali, they were pulled from the battlefield and trying to kill your fellow citizens and they don't receive the same rights that YOU STILL HAVE.

If you have some real issues with actual proof of wrong-doing, please come forward, be a patriot.

Anonymous- don't you know that the terrorist bogeyman can probably find you via your IP address? As far a "moslem" democracies, you don't know what you are talking about:
 List of Muslim democracies
The following list indicates those countries which are members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and are either generally considered to be democratic or have substantial democratic elements in their system of government. The percentage of Muslims in each country is sourced from CIA FactBook

Albania (Europe) (70% Muslim)
Algeria (North Africa) (99%)
Bangladesh (South Asia) (83%)
Comoros (South eastern Africa) (98%)
Indonesia (South-East Asia) (88%)
Iran (Middle-East) (98%)
Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia) (75%)
Lebanon (Middle-East) (59.7%)
Nigeria (West Africa) (50%)
Malaysia (South-East Asia) (62%)
Mali (West Africa) (90%)
Morocco (North Africa) (98.7%)
Niger (West Africa) (80%)
Senegal (West Africa) (94%)
Sierra Leone (West Africa) (60%)
Turkey (Europe / Asia) (99.8%)
Yemen (Arabian Peninsula - Asia) (+90%)

You have a much better chance of being killed in a car, dying from MRSA or being hit by lightning, than being a victim of a terrorist but don't let that stop you from cowering in fear in your basement.

Patrick,Tulsa- How about my right to have ID? My right to travel? My right to use banks? Borrow money? Sell my property? You simple folks have no idea what is being done to US citizens in the name of terror. You need to wake up to the fact that millions of innocent americans are being persecuted every day. If you spent just one day in my shoes, you'd call for impeachment immediately. The SSA is Bush's gestapo. The "Homeland security" scam is just another fascist political machine. Who's homeland? Yours? Not the american homeland for sure. Try standing up for your rights and watch how fast they elude you.

"Bush is totally correct."

Really. About what, his mother's name?

" The Clinton's and their operatives are treasonous to the core."

Cheney outing a CIA agent, allowing Halliburton to rip off Americans and help kill soldiers, turning off parts of the Constitution, starting a war based on total lies and sustained by complete lies - THAT'S treasonous.

I suggest you consult a dictionary so you don't look so lame.

"If they return to the White House we will see chaos in the streets of American unseen since the spring of 1861."

Sure thing, Confederate boy. This admin is a virtual Confederate-principles administration anyway.

You're right that there's going to be unrest: if the Repubs try to steal another election, it's time for blood in the streets. This anti-American and anti-Constitution party has run its course.

You think killing Bin Laden (he's probably already dead) is going to change Al Qaeda's plans to kill as many Americans as they can? Thanks to Bush Al Qaeda's membership is growing by the minute. I don't think Ruth's, Portland, theory is far fetched at all.

Did you eat too much Halloween candy? Nobody's trying to convert you to Islam, which is the actual name of the religion you are putting down. Most Muslims are nice people who don't care what church you attend, not crazy radicals. Remember in old Catholic Spain you were not allowed to be Protestant, and in Protestant England you were not allowed to be Catholic. America invented the idea of not having an official religion, and that is why we stand so far above the 'owned' countries of Europe. Muslims sincerely believe, like GW Bush, that the Church must rule over the civil government, and that a non-religious government can only be evil. This paralyzes their societies and causes them to be riding camels while we drive cars. Yet, they live in the US and are fine with a secular government that doesn't prevent them from practicing their religion.

Anonymous, if they try to cut your throat, show 'em a cartoon. I hear they really hate that. If they invade, we'll bring up the Elmer Fudd Marines and drop spongebobs on 'em. Daffy Duck's being held in reserve, and in a pinch we've got the Tasmanian Devils.

“What would Hillary do to protect us against this threat?”

Maybe the same thing her husband did, when he went after Bin Laden before 9/11? You know, right around the time nanny-state “conservatives” were obsessing about Monica’s blue dress?

Or, we could always elect another Republican, who is less interested in preventing terrorism than milking terror for partisan political gain.

Time and time again I hear people talk about their "rights and freedoms" they are giving up to fight terrorists, yet I never hear any specific examples of what you are giving up. Can someone please tell me what right you currently don't possess that you did have before the war on terror began?

What's going on now that is ILLEGAL but the Supreme Court won't call the Patriot Act unconstitutional although the American people know it is:

1. Warrantless wiretapping
2. Illegal search and seizures
3. Being put in jail without being told why or allowed access to a lawyer

I could go on, but then all I'd have to do is bring in all the violations of the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights that the Bush Administration have violated time and again since we have a spineless Congress and Supreme Court who won't do their job.

When Republicans have selected the least objectionable of this sorry bunch, she will then proceed to take him apart.

Apparently everybody here either knows nothing about history. Or is blinded by their own stubborness that maybe Bush made a good justifiable statement. Think beyond the political spectrum. Osama is in essence just like Hitler, Lenion, Stalin, hussien, Putin and like every other dictator Just instead of surpressing just one country he has surpressed several including is home country of Afghanistan. Maybe somebody will past their biases and come up with alogical historical answer.

Bush is 100% correct in stating that Bin Laden and his terroists have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler.
Lenin intention was to convert everyone to communist rule and kill all the upper class and middle class and subject everyone to dictatorship of the Communists. Hitler's goal was to conquer the world, kill all the Jews and subject everyone to the dictatorship rule of the master race. Bin Ladens goal to kill all the Jews, convert everyone to Moslem rule and slit the throats of everyone that will not convert. There is no free agency under Moslem rule. You become Moslem or you become dead. How many times have you heard of men from western Countries marrying Moslem women and the women ending up dead when they converted to Christenanity. How many Moslem countries are democratic institutions.
How many have Islamic governments? How many have democratic governments? If you say 0 you are correct.
Better look up on the websites to read and study what the Moslem Religion stands for become you are faced with converting to the Moslem religion or having your throut cut.
The only thing I can say that Bush is doing wrong is that he is not being anywhere near forceful enough and trying to establish
a democratic government. These people do not understand what the world democracy means.
Just remember under Moslem rule you cannot be Catholic, Protestant, Jewish or any religion except Moslem.

Right now we are supposed to know their differences and that is what we are being blurred from. The second face should be the actual nominee and the opponent nominee. It is really sad that she has already tried to ignore the rest of the democrats just like bush ignored the american people. Watch out Americans. I pity your country!

I admire the likes of the great Democrats such as Kennedy and FDR.

Hillary, you and the current Democrat party players are no Kennedys nor FDRs. You are just a bunch of Clintons.

<b>What Al Qaeda has learned</b> is that you can't just wound an Elephant, or it will turn, enraged, and try to trample you. That is what 9/11 taught them. They are not stupid. Bin Laden knows his next attack must be so destructive that the US is defeated all at once. The most viable scenario is Al Qaeda smuggling in 'backpack' nuclear bombs for a coordinated attack that would simultaneously destroy 6 or more major American cities. Imagine losing LA, Chicago, NY, Boston, Atlanta, and Dallas all at once. The US would become a 3rd-World nation overnight.
This is the nature of the threat. This is the politically incorrect, stark reality that our leaders are faced with, mostly behind closed doors.
Its very viable, there are hundreds of unaccounted small nukes from the Soviet Union alone.
There are many nation states that might entertain the idea of helping Al Qaeda if they thought it was an opportunity to destroy the US without being held responsible. The threat is very, very real.
Its not going away.
Its getting closer every day.
The essence of nuclear deterrence - Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) - doesn't apply to Al Qaeda. That creates a huge vulnerability for the US.
Al Qaeda is patient, cunning, wealthy, fearless, and willing to wait. They are in it win, and win big, not just to annoy the US. <i>Do not underestimate them.</i>
<b>What would Hillary do to protect us against this threat?</b>

Bush has some nerve faulting Democrats. He was the one who didn't listen to advice and instead of staying in Afghanistan and finding Bin Laden, our real enemy, he took his overblown ego into Iraq just to show Daddy he could. Bush is the worst thing ever to happen to the GOP, our country, and the whole world. He has set a disturbing wave in motion that is affecting the whole world and if he is not stopped, he will lead us right into a third world war.

Please make aware your ideology to the people from your great state of Oklahoma who blindly voted for Bush two times. And, this time 08, they will again as robots vote for followers of Bush. Stop this madness.
Our votes in Florida were disfranchised in 2000 to get us into this mess. You can avoid the same mistake.

My fellow Americans

Why are we still talking about the past? Why don't we talk about our future? OK, we made a big mistake by electing G Bush. Its done, so what can we do? NOTHING!!! We just have to wait for November next year.

Mind you, NOT EVERY REPUBLICAN SUPPORT WITH WHAT G BUSH'S DID AND NOT EVERY DEMOCRATS AGAINST IT. H Clinton actually supported G Bush on his war plans!!! Hence, H Clinton is no different than G Bush. For all you know, H Clinton is a CLOSE BUDDY of G Bush.

Can't you see the both of them are tag teaming to help one another? When G Bush contesting against A Gore in 2000, H Clinton crossed A Gore so that he will lose. Otherwise, A Gore might stand another chance in 2004 and if he wins then he will work till 2008 where J Lieberman (A Gore's deputy) will take from there. Then, H Clinton will never get the chance EVER. Same goes with J Kerry and J Edwards. She keep making them lose so that she (H Clinton) will stand a chance in 2008. SIMPLE, TYPICAL AND LOGICAL!!!

H Clinton is NO ANGEL!!! A very deceiving person who make used of B Clinton in many ways. She lied when she said in 2003 that she won't to contest for US President in 2008. Let's forget about both the Bushes and Clintons. Let's give other people a chance. Why not try B Obama or J McCain (I know he tried many times)? America has many capable leaders to select!!! Once again, its USA AND NOT BUSH-CLINTON (USA) INC!!!

Wow, I've read less than a third of these posts and Bush is compared to Hitler in most of them. These people are absolutely convinced that George Bush is more evil than the terrorists that have been attacking us for decades, all because the left and unfortunately the main stream Democrats have a lust for power that will stop at nothing. The big suprise for all of you is that when we get a Dem president most of the policies that are in place to fight terrorism (policies voted on by the congress) will stay in place because they are needed to keep us safe. Have fun playing politics now, because after the elections, we will have very little change in the war on terrorism but the Dems will try to socialize our medical system, increase taxes on wealth creation and increase spending drastically.
I'm no Bush cool aid drinker but the the Dem front runners scare me and I will likely vote for a Republican.

There is no one that has hurt our effort on the War On Terror than Bush himself. Going into Iraq will be one of the biggest military blunders of all time. When someone sucker punches you, you go after them, not another kid on the playground that had nothing to do with the fight. THIS IS WHY BIN LADEN IS STILL AN ISSUE.

And as far as history let's go back to 1992 when Dick Cheney defended George H Bush's decision NOT TO GO INTO IRAQ citing the very reasons that we are in this quagmire today. Repubs, there is no one, NO ONE, who double speaks like this. He went from "Quagmire" to "Liberators" in ten years. So give us a break on the history lessons that have nothing to do with this military blunder.

There has never been more dissention between military personell and our leadership in the history of this nation. Period. And there's a reason for that.

Let me fill you in on something. RETIRED GENERALS KNOW HISTORY AND THEY KNOW THEIR MILITARY. Many are coming out and saying that this war is mismanaged from it inception and that our military is stretched so far that we cannot manage another war. There's no way that all of them are misuderstood, misinformed, or partisan.

And I don't think this is just an issue of surveillance but who is surveilling. No one trusts this administration and with good reason. John Poindexter under Rumsfeld devised a scheme to develop a mini-stock market to bet on terror events to predict their likelihood. Did you hear? Yeah he had to resign. What if he were there now and was privy to such a delicate responsibilty. We don't need to give nut jobs more authority and latitude. That's how we got into this mess to begin with.

Being bogged down in Iraq and losing top military personell left and right, so much so that they have to give them a 30,000 bonus just to not leave, HAS HURT THE WAR ON TERROR. Get a clue.

I love how when people compare Bush to Hitler there is virtually no backlash from people who are supposed to be on the same side. Then when he points out the FACT that the democrats are doing NOTHING to help our cause, they get all up-in-arms about the issue and say he's "playing politics". Typical liberal hogwash. Making themselves seem so innocent when they stand by while true patriots try to help their country.

"George Bush is not running for President. He won two Presidential elections……get over it."

Because of ignorants like this man, we are suffering 4 more years of incompetance, arrogance, and shear madness from our present government.
If you listen properly, Hillary never said that she is going to hand over the licenses to illegals. All she said was Govt Spitzer is making some efforts to solve the problem NY is facing by illegal immigrants driving without licenses and creating accidents. This is just a small problem to a bigger issue of immigration reform which you don't have capacity to understand. If you think Hillary or any other democrat is not worthy of a leader, go vote for Rudy or Romney who will get us stuck another 50 years in Iraq, Iran. And, be scared and get your other party members scared of Hilter, Lenin, Osama, and vote for your competant republicans for 8 more years of misery.

Time and time again I hear people talk about their "rights and freedoms" they are giving up to fight terrorists, yet I never hear any specific examples of what you are giving up. Can someone please tell me what right you currently don't possess that you did have before the war on terror began?

Faulty? Mrs. Clinton can find the definition in the mirror. We are paying for Mr/Mrs Clinton's 1st & 2nd term now, this is what happens when you do nothing. Their mentor must have been Jimmy Carter.

HERMAN GORING (Hitler's #2) said during the Nuremberg Trial: " Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifist for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country." Sound familar George?
