There are numerous videos of Al Gore criticizing the first President Bush for being soft on terrorists and particularly Saddam Hussein.

"Gore acknowledged that Saddam Hussein was a ruthless and brutal dictator, that Iraq was a "nation with a record of terrorism," and that the CIA, the Defense Department, the State Department, the Justice Department, the Energy Department, the Commerce Department and "other agencies throughout the government" notified Bush 41's people that Iraq was "clandestinely procuring nuclear weapons technology through a global network of front companies."

Then Clinton-Gore was elected and we had Khobar Towers, the first World Trade Center, etc., etc.

Al Gore will never be elected President, or anything else.

Gore is as big a joke as his carbon offsets, which are nothing more than a way to trick people into giving them cash.

Apparently it is okay for me to throw trash out the window of my car as long as I "offset" the action by doing something positive somewhere else. What nonsense. Instead of buying a chic new hybrid car, why don't you just keep the same car you have now for 20 years - thus saving the energy consumed by manufacturing new cars!

What do people mean by

"Al Gore is the only person to get us out of this mess"?

Iraq? He doesn't have military expertise. What would he bring to the table?

Environmental cleanup? He uses more energy than a small town.

The thing about AL GORE to me is that no one can say for certain that his global warming claims are irrefutable. Science can progress and many theories are proven wrong later. So to say the book is closed on man changing the climate is just plain wrong. Also, Al will not debate live on TV against those who oppose his claims. Why is that?

Al Gore flies in a private jet for most appearances. He owns more than one residence, and the main one is an energy - consuming monster mansion (just the same as Edwards). Al Gore owns the company that sells carbon offsets; another fancy way off saying rich elitist liberals (especially his Hollywood 'friends') can "buy" their way out of the guilt of using massive amts of energy, just as Al does.

Hillary hasn't stumbled enough to bring this out now. One bad week doesn't doom her. Although I would love to see Gore run if Clinton starts to falter, I think the timing is wrong on this ad. Good ad, though.

For all of you who are so fearful that carbon dioxide causes global warming, keep in mind that every time you breathe you exhale the dreaded stuff. Perhaps the best way to reduce global warming is for fans of Gore to commit suicide and leave the rest of us alone to enjoy our lives in peace.

Before Gore criticizes us for driving older cars that get fewer miles per gallon than one of those precious hybrids, he might want to stop to figure out how much carbon dioxide emissions are created by the process of manufacturing those hybrids!

Can't we leave this poor angry demented man alone?

Let's leave him alone to spend his golden years playing with his "global warming" action heroes set. You know, the one with the "Atmosphere Al" action figure, with the Kung Fu grip?

The amazing thing is the Al Gore action figure probably is more entertaining and less wooden than the man the doll was modeled after.

Considering that 25 percent of Al's "An Inconvenient Truth" is in fact false according to the a British court — it seems only fair that Gore offer a refund to moviegoers, DVD/book purchasers and speaking sponsors. Where are the class action lawyers when you need them?

Al Gore said this about elections )I'm paraphrasing): "When you run for election, you either win or lose...but then there is that little discussed third possibility..."

I have given up getting agnry over the idea that America's first coup d'etat took place in 2000 and there was nothing we could do about it. The man who won that election went into retirement and the man who lost that election is in the White House.

Eventually, historians will take it for granted that the wrong man went to the White House in 2000 (Florida), as probably happened in 1960 (Illinois), and in the Tilden-Hayes election of 1876 (Florida, Louisiana, and South Carolina). The Democrats stole two of them and the Republicans only one.

Can't help but wonder why all the attacks here against Gore? The personal, infantile comments. First, regardless of his electric bill it was this man's actions who finally put the issue of Global Warming in the front pages. No, he didn't invent the concept but he got it onto the front page and got it PRESS and now it is getting the attention it needed decades ago. Second, this man is not running. People are trying to encourage him to do so. He ran and won once already. Except, as you will recall, the election was stolen by dirty tricks. Personally, if he ran, I'd vote for him without hesitation. We are coming out of the WORST presidency ever. This country needs a strong leader with experience and yet someone the people can beleive in and respect. A lot of us think that Al Gore would be perfect. I'm not one of But, if its Hillary Clinton, she'll have my vote. Hey, I haven't had a president for 8 years now, its time I got myself one!

Al Gore hasn't done a thing for this planet or this country. He's fanned fears of global warming with sketchy and inaccurate science and some goofballs have fallen into lockstep with him.

There is no question we are warming, but there is a mountain of evidence of it being caused by humans which is what he is trying to sell us.

Go sell crazy, elsewhere, Al, we're all full up here.

@Ernest from Dallas: First of all I'm not Republican, secondly I follow no propaganda blindly. I read, I inform myself, I study both (all) sides of issues and then form my opinions. Al Gore's doc has been proven to be riddled with fallacies and inaccuracies, I stop short of saying outright lies.

As for educating myself, well I will match my educational achievements with most anyone's. Care to compare transcripts?

If you had more than a fourth grade education, you would realize that the war in Iraq has NOTHING to do American Freedom. -- Chris Haynes, Winston-Salem, NC

Ummmm..., weren’t the Revolutionary and Civil wars the only ones ever fought for "American Freedom"? At what other time was our freedom in jeopardy?? No country could possible take and hold the US. No, we fight in Iraq for the same reasons we fought in Europe. To free its people from tyranny and to protect our children from the spread of that tyranny. The failure of our progressive education system is clearly visible throughout this blogshere.

Al Gore missed his time. I recognize global warming but i also recognize how ignorant American citizens are, OUR safety first, then global safety.Gore won't be able to show enough dominance and power to show he can lead a country out of a war. Sorry Al.

The British judge did in fact use the word "errors" throughout his ruling. Some scientists say there are actually 35 errors or exaggerations in the film. And as for the contention that the movie contains thousands of facts, simple math shows that 2,000 facts in a 98-min film would have had to be recited at a rate of one every three seconds. Add another exaggeration from the Gore camp??

Perhaps worse than the film’s errors is their origin. The BBC reported that Gore knew the film presented incorrect information but took no corrective steps because he didn’t want to spotlight any uncertainties in the scientific data that may fuel opponents of global warming alarmism.

So based on the judge’s ruling, 25 minutes of a 98-minute film should be excised. What’s left is largely Gore’s personal drama and cinematic fluff that has nothing to do with the science of climate change.

"An Inconvenient Truth" grossed about $50 million at the box office and millions more in DVD and book sales. Gore charges as much as $175,000 for an in-person presentation of his slide show that forms the basis for the film. Considering that 25 percent of it is false — it seems only fair that Gore should offer a refund to all...

I've tried addressing the lies and attacks 5 times now and the post never appears.

Lets place this one, OK?

You all (upthread)should have tired by now with these constant same lies, attacks and name calling. But Mr. Gore has the facts on his side.

Mr. Gore is the best example of character one could hope for. And his walk is strong and straight up. And all your lies won't change that.

Mr. Gore still flies commercially and still buys offsets for his travel. Mr. Gore purchased a 100 year old home and had it completely gutted and remodeled GREEN, receiving top LEED honors. With Geo thermal and radiant heating, dual pain window all replaced, rain collection, solar panels AND AND still, he pays more to have 100 percent of the energy he uses to come from Renewable resources.

Al Gore is a proven leader with stature, vision and unmatchable experience and has been proven to be correct on some of the most important issues we still face, like the Iraq war, the deficit, health care, over-reaching powers, trampling of our Constitution, the environment and Global Warming. We deserve him to be our president. He is asking us to rebuild our democracy and for citizen activism to bring about the change we need. Please add your voice and show we know we deserve the best to be in the Oval Office to make the agenda and policy to solve the many crisis we face.

Time for a COOL change,
Gore

Listening to Al Gore speak has all the excitement of fingernails on a chalkboard. It's irritating and carries no real message. We need a leader for this Country, not some nutjob who wants to save the world from a non event.

Can anyone explain the relationship between the Peace Prize and global warming?

The only thing worse is listening to Hillary's screech.

Did you see him on 20/20 with John Stossel? (yeah...me either...Gore is unable to defend himself...) - he was an unknown in the White House as VP...and only trotted out around election time....with the film...he knows its factually inaccurate....but I believe he thinks we needed an incentive to move off foreign oil....perhaps he's right...but lying is not the way to get this done....Gore was never the right choice for the country....but the blind followers of the DNC would support anyone who runs on the ticket....omg...they are supporting Hillary now...who is preaching Marxist doctrine...(look up Saul Alinsky....Hillarys teacher)

clinton is assuming other democratic rival which at this state till the primary should be telling us why we want us to elect her other than them. He is ignoring them and pronouncing herself the nominee just like bush ignored American people when he went for war. Now if Americans do the second mistake we will see who to blame....I am waiting with my popcorn to see how this unfolds. Keep the game on!

This country needs a woman or man with the backbone to fight back and not let go unchalleged the innuendos, half truths, and out right lies by the republicans and the media.
Al Gore does not have the desire to go through a presidential campaign at this time, so why not leave the man alone.

Republican pundits make me puke.

Your feeble attempts at pointing out "alleged" inaccuracies in Gore's "An Inconveinient Truth" is hypocritical and pale in comparison to the lies of the Bush administration.

Any alleged inaccuracies on the part of Al Gore and the NATO commission in the film get us what...? Perhaps it may help sway more people conserve.

What to the lies of the Bush Administration get us? American deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan in guise of a war on terror when it's all just a greedy grab for control over oil.

I'll take inaccuracies that may save the environment over out-right lies anyday.

Some Dems simply realize they have current problems with their choices available - the GOP doesn't? I'm suprised I haven't seen a draft Gingrich or draft Jeb campaign yet (God help us all).

Moonpie "Gore for President...yeah that worked." Actually it DID work. he had more votes. You may remember a little issue about the Supreme Court, who gave the election the the incompetents. yeah, that worked. And 4 years later? Oh, that one was due to a whole lot of cheating in Ohio that Kerry decided not to pursue in the spirit of bipartisanship. Yeah that worked!
If something happens and Hillary pulls out, THEN Gore will step into the ring and be awesome. Wonder what a Gore/Clinton presidency would be like?
Yeah that WOULD work. Anyone but a Republican!

When Gore ran in 2000, he became the first candidate to lose his home state in generations. He even lost Clinton's home state!
If he runs in '08, he'll be lucky to carry any state between New York and California.

The Repubs are funny calling Gore a hypocrite. Both him and his wife work out their house. So they don't drive to work each day. We are talking about a high level guy here who operates his entire career out of his house. He drives a hybrid and gets his energy from green sources.

Now compare this to the guy who lost the popular vote in 2000. Some of you will remember Bush saying in 2000 that conservation was unnnecesary. Compare to two wars, civil rights turned backed before the Magna Carta and the writ of Habeas Corpus. Taking the largest budget surplus in US history and turning it into the largest deficit. Making America the most hated nation on earth.

I wish Gore was President and I wish he would run in 2008 but he won't. He won't run against feminazi Hillary. She has too big a lead and the people he needs to win have already committed themselves to Hillary.

"Sure Draft all Democrats and Anti Bush people for duty in Baghdad ! To express their appreciation for American Freedom."

Hey Alberto,

If you had more than a fourth grade education, you would realize that the war in Iraq has NOTHING to do American Freedom. Now, go drink your whisky and get back to beating your wife; war monger!

I am still undecided because I am waiting for Al. If he runs, I am switching from Republican to Democrat just so I can vote for him in the primary. He inspires me to be a better person. The Republican Party shames and depresses me. He should have won it in 2000. Look at the mess we are in now. Let's give him another chance. How much worse could he do than what we have now?

Politically Gore is through. He is an internationalist now, not a nationalist, and therefore would never win a national election. The sidelines is too cushy and lucrative. Just ask Newty Gingerich. He's another faker who decided not to run cause the $$ is too good.

LP, someone's moderating this, probably an overworked intern (hi guy). Comments appear and disappear but don't seem to be censored on political grounds. Check in a few minutes and they may return.

Most voters are smarter than some give them credit.

They are tired of this election and that is why certain candidates support is dropping. The hype is gone.

And, they have expressed quite well their dislike for these elections starting so long before the elections and it is disgusting the money that has been spent.

The front runners need to raise what they did if they were going to waste so many millions and millions of dollars each qurater. OMG!

No, elections are meant to show the people who you are. There is not a fake mandatory amount of time it should take to do that.

The only ones starting so early are the ones having to buy their marketing campaign...and even that isn't working.

The good news, fo those folks who thought they could lock things up early, the people have had a long enough time to see what they are offering. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

We need a real leader who has an exemplary record as MR. Gore has, for decades and decades.

From volunteering to serve in Vietname, even though he was opposed to the war, to returning and reporting for his local paper for 5 years, then serving in the US House, then serving in the US Senate, then serving as a US Vice President. He now spends his time in private life working tirelessly getting attention to recognize and solve the Climate Crisis.

I believe Mr. Gore will win in a landslide.

It doesn't really matter who is running or who is elected. Nothing ever gets accomplished anyway. One party votes against the other just because they can. They will vote against good ideas just because they didn't think of it first. It's so childish and so frustrating.
